I wish there was a way to highlight your comment cause you actually got all the songs listed which came in handy while I fucking missed About A Girl & another song using those 2 other dude's list instead. Appreciate you doing this for people, man!!!
This is actually bad ass.
Gotta love this guy
Can't believe I had to scroll this far down to see this
The real MVP.
Post Malone just gained an entire generation of fans.
True and so did Nirvana
jay It was to honor kurt.
Natasha Darling that is so true
@jay dude Cobain wore that shit on stage all the time...
yeah im gen z but i didn't care for him but now... now... i love him
Crazy to think that for a lot of people watching this was their first time hearing Nirvana
F for that broh
I really doubt his audience doesn't know nirvana, at least I think every one that was born before 2006 knows them
I know it’s so sad also the fact that he was wearing a dress like come on Kurt Cobain always wore crazy clothes on stage and off
Erik P. sad
tal3s I’ve met lots of people under 18 who have no idea who they are, or any other super amazing bands. Kinda sad honestly. That bands will eventually just be forgotten.
Watching Posty is like watching a legend being born. His genre-crossing talent, positive, love everyone attitude is so refreshing. He's the good guy you want to see win. His ability to transition from hip-hop to pop, rock, and country while maintaining authenticity and gaining respect is quite rare and remarkable.
He was from the Rock genre before though....just not much success...he switched to the rap/hippopotamus genre because he write his own songs.
@@isthatmysatayhip?… Hip hop?… Hipoponnonomous? YOU GIVE HIM ALL THE EASY ONES!
Plot twist : Post Malone has been doing rap just so he can kickstart his rock career and make it mainstream again
You want to know something funny? Post has mentioned that he will do go in to rock in the future, but he is using rap to pay the bills and he is also enyoing it though. But he is effectively using a super mainstream plattform to prepare to sling himself into the not so mainstream further ahead. He just want's to cover all his angles first. So you're not far of!
He used to be into post-hardcore/metalcore. When he was younger. He even auditionned to be part of a band called Crown the Empire. Look it up.
I was thinking this
This could do it
Agree ! 100%
Post Malone is way too talented to be in one genre. Massive props
He spans many genres
@josh homeshool josh, thats what he said booger. Hes insanely talented on all the levels.
Straight up.
Absolutely!!
Agree! He can do it all. And a damn good job too
I'm 49 years old. Nirvana was my voice. The day Kurt died I cried like I lost a family member. So many people have covered Nirvana and fell flat. I have never heard anyone do it like Post and his friends did. Just badass. Thank you Austin for this amazing tribute.
I'm 45 and the same as you buddy. Helped get thru my angst

💕 same here 😊 couldn't have said it any better 😢 still frickin breaks my heart!
April 5,2024 and this is still such a fitting tribute
I really hope this gets pressed on vinyl. I dont mind loading this vid to play but would love to have this on wax to spin through my main stereo setup as this is is easily the best set of Nirvana covers ever. Has Dave Grohl commented on this performance? I'd imagine he approves but I'd still like to know what his and Kris's response was to this great performance

Honour bestowed upon the
I like more Post Malone as a Rocker than a Rapper.
therealgoody that’s cool. Kinda like a Staind situation.
therealgoody it would be cool if he could bring some energy back to the current rock scene which, I feel like is dying. When I was in high school we had so much new and good rock music coming out - system of the down, korn, deftones, etc. Everything lately is disappointing. Maybe it’s just me?
Hip hop is the new rock though- it's the counter-culture thing parents hate
@@wallboi7 THIS! All the parents listen to rock. It's their culture. The youth just like in the past rebelled against parents and hip hop is the counter culture overall. Hip hop is beginning to have more rock elements with popular artists as of late. It's interesting for sure.

@@MaksudTV coz smells like teen spirit is the most overrated/overplayed nirvana song. Even Kurt hated it and would purposely mess it up whenever they'd play it.
@@MaksudTV hahaha bet the only nirvana song you now
@@1sad_latvianboi707 you couldnt be more wrong my man, but thats your problem
I’m actually really staggered that Post has such a low opinion of his natural singing voice. Sure, it’s not “conventionally” good, but there’s so much passion and raw aggression in it that it’s perfect. Dude’s a real one.
Just like Kurt didn’t think much of his own voice yet it’s so beloved
Also, People making fun of post for wearing a dress is just him paying homage to Kurt who would often wear dresses to shows.

This seriously is the best and most respectful set of Nirvana covers I've ever seen.. Post Malone just seems like such a chill normal dude it blows my mind...
He is just really shy and a nice guy but tries to not show it too much :)
Such an impressive artist… he’s easily my kids generation’s best, most versatile musical talent.
No normal dude wears a dress.
@@firstworker7555 He sometimes wears earrings, but the dress is a play on the lockdown situation
@First Worker Kurt Cobain wore dresses…
He used fashion to defy gender boundaries. Imagine 30 years ago this dude already thinking about gender boundaries… let that sink in… 30 years ago…
He wore dresses and skirts often, and once stated that he liked florals because "there’s nothing more comfortable than a cosy flower pattern.”
Wearing a dress and not playing Smells Like Teen Spirit is Nirvana af. Well done guys.
12.10
I want to hear him sing that too dammit
They didn’t play that song?
After Teen Spirit got big, Nirvana played the song way less frequently after the initial tour for the album, so hearing it not be played was a good thing. As well as the starting song being "Frances Farmer will have her revenge on Seattle"
This guy gets it. Well put sir.
Travis Barker absolutely killed it on the drums in this set. I often come here for the cover of Breed !
funny to see how excited he expected every song to start as post kept talking and introducing the songs 😂
I thought he was a little too aggressive, he kept speeding up the songs and they had a hard keeping up, you tell by the reactions of the band
He seemed nervous and impatient to me ^^@@diiastech
Not a Post Malone fan, but this man earned my respect without question. I can't decide if I like his Heart shaped Box more than the original or not. Mind blown!
Post needs to do a grunge album with these dudes.
Before he did this, I kind of knew about him.. Watched a few videos of him visiting Normans rare Guitars, and playing a cover of a few songs.. Its clear he would rather play rock, but raps cause thats where the money is.. Hope he does a rock album at some point.. He could prob do something pretty special.. I mean I remember hating Nirvana at first cause they were beating out Guns N Roses on whatever count down MTV had at the time.. But then listening to a few albums and really diggin Nirvana

I’m impressed at how Travis actually stays true to Grohls original drumming and doesn’t add his own spin and busy it up. I love barkers style but these songs are so iconic I don’t think more drum fills would do them any favors and I guess Travis agreed.
Jacob Dexter This. While I’d have no problem With Travis adding his flavor, I was pleasantly surprised to staying in Grohls pocket.

Same, thought I'd check this out and see what he was all about. Liking it.

Post is pretty bad ass...hes one of those guys who isnt afraid of trying new shit....unlike all the cookie cutter stuff we are used to listening to
Felt the exact same way back when I noticed a Bob Dylan cover that he did. He's a very talented individual! Hopefully he sticks around and we all get to enjoy it for years to come.
Ya man lots of these dudes are musically talented in more ways than one. Then they choose a lane to make it in. And to make it, you need to build an image in one lane. So ppl judge without really giving the artist a chance
Post Malone is a Rapper, but his heart will always be on Rock.
Rockstars actually raps better than wannabes rapper out there..
Rappers wannabe cant Rock..
Rockstars goes to show more talented than now hiphop wimps!
@@janyap1552 the amount of gatekeeping made me cringe
Post malone says that he is not a rapper, cuz he make a lot of different’s musical generes
I'm a true hip hop head and fan at heart, Post malone isn't a rapper. That's actually what stopped me from listening or even giving his music a chance. However when I 1st saw this I said holyshit!!! This dude is talented. Then my lady of 10 years left me and for some reason I came across a song baby post and I haven't stopped listening to his music since. It's been nearly 8 mo this now and I'm still playing most all his music and trying to get over this break up.
@Yamaha R1 is this a joke bruh 💀💀
Post Malone & Travis Barker this shit legendary
its 2023 and i still go back to this stream to have my fix of Nirvana medley. One of the best rendition ive watched. kudos and props to Post. Hes a generational talent. Pundits of Rap can get their talent hold up on one genre for all we care. This guys not bounded by precepts of musical limitation, that makes him a legend already.

To think there’s some kids out there hearing nirvana for the first time.. Very cool! Good job!
Excellent observation!

After so many months it still kicks ass. Please, never delete this video, this is the best nirvana tribute ever.
Agreed
We all wanted him to do rock, he gave us this. Absolute legend, i remember when he did one cover everyone said to do more, he delivered
@Robomax 15x That's another reason why it's the best. The band hated playing this song
@Robomax 15x SLTS is the song that too popular and not really cool to play
Totally agree!
I love how Travis Barker is at all times, on the edge of seat, tapping leg, spinning wood.. just waiting to put the sticks to the skins.
Pp
man eat, sleeps and breathes drumming
Yes 👏🏻
Fr tho!!!
That's what caught me, as a good drummer would he's just like.. can I beat the crap out of these things in front already..
One of the most difficult things to pull off…yet Post & the boys deliver beautifully. Kurt IS so proud of the kindness in your heart, the authentic delivery of the performance, and the DGAF attitude with which y’all play these incredible songs. For anyone who says Post Malone isn’t Rock’n’Roll, I beg to differ. “Say when…”
Easy Doc
Post was born in 1995. He is 25 years old. Him playing Nirvana songs with Travis Barker. He is living his best life! ha!
9kay
Thats a fuckin dream tbh, travis i pure class
Literally lived my dream lol, if i could ever make it to this point i would die a happy man for sure
This is why Cobains music lives and will never die ❤ and all our legend
That would be Sir Travis Barker. But on seriousness Barker has surpassed Grohl as best living drummer at this point IMO
The fact that Post Malone did this in the beginning of the pandemic for us, such a gift. Legend
@Post .malone if I could publicly dislike a comment

God bless you all
He raised a nice chunk of change. It would be really nice to see where that money went, if it lined some "charity's" pocket or did it make it to a good cause.
Dude Ive watched this thing so many times. Definitely up there with child hood movies status. Such a epic jam.
Crazy how it’s almost been a year since this happened
Yup.Time flies so fast and it also made me feel like im still in a year 2020

So epic

That which sucks will always suck (dun, dun, dun.... AHHHH NOOOOO!)
Sorry, I've been watching Beavis and Butthead.
Ikr?? I remember listening to this while playing some games 😭
Post Malone has seriously, I mean SERIOUSLY gone up in my estimations. The fact that he truly loves the source material is crystal clear. Nirvana changed my life and it looks like they did the same for him. Well done, Mr Malone - take a bow.

Seriously. It was really enjoyable to see. I'm glad it was in his messy house and intimate. Just very 90's grunge.

I've heard alot of Nirvana covers live in my lifetime and this is by far at the top of everything I've seen by far. Brilliant job and thankyou to all involved.
I’m not even a post malone fan but it’s pretty cool that he’s doing stuff a nirvana tribute and making songs with Ozzy that could introduce punk and metal to his audience. Massive props to him.
Absolutely!
Please do a rock album Post. This is your genre. Damn this was good.
I miss grunge, punk, good alternative rock music. We need you on this one man.
Rock and any subgenre of it feels so dead. We need a new movement.
1 HOUR you'll relax 💯💕.
ruclips.net/video/raoIv5dhUyg/видео.html
We need more punk/rock/metal bands, you know the good stuff. I hope we can make these genres popular again like they were in the 80s and 90s
There are still a lot of awesome punk bands out there. You just gotta know where to look for them.
Now we just got a lot of post-run running around which I find a little boring but it’s good some people do enjoy them though
When you see him come out in the dress and you have this honest moment of appreciation for posts understanding of Kurts true look

Tons of respect earned
zack LeTaco absolutely, he’s a genuine fan
Kurt did the same bact at the reading festival so it kinda makes sense tbh

The reason Nirvana was so good is because they lived off of pure energy. That's also why this captures the essence of Nirvana perfectly. Pure energy.
No, it becuase they lived off heroin...all the best 90s bands were on the horse....AIC, STP etc
@@shaunphillips6160 Dave Grohl & Krist didn't do heroin though, their songs were good whether or not drugs were involved. Talented ppl just had drug addiction sometimes, take Jimi Hendrix on LSD as an ex.
Youth is pure energy! nothing better than to be young!

Travis Barker just constantly waiting to destroy the drums, always upright with sticks ready to go. The dude literally lives and breathes to play its crazy.
😂 I was 40 mins in thinking to myself everyone sweating but Travis is bone dry does that kid have no sweat glad fr
@@LeezyPD170 Travis has a unique playstyle and has been doing this stuff since 96 realistically (he was the drummer for the aquabats in 96 and then joined Blink-182 in 98. Funny enough Barker was originally a fill in for their original drummer who left and he learned their entire set list drum wise in a 45 minute time frame. The guy seems to basically just be naturally great at drumming even if he isn't the best on a "technical" level, but if he was better on the technical level he wouldn't drum the way he does either so that is always fun.
I think the length of time he's done this shit and the way he plays + the setting all sort of tied in together.
