Some people as composers themselves, often rate themselves based upon the genius in which came before them (I have myself). But listening to these early symphonies of Mozart, it is evident that he was not born a genius. It was dedication and passion in which produced one of the greatest composers to have ever lived!
The 8 year old Mozart was not a genius by the standard of an adult composer, but he did have an extraordinary level of competence and none of the clumsy errors that one would expect of someone of that age. Perhaps only Mendelssohn or Bruch could match that level of competence when so young.
Thought about this piece when I was on a boat on the Kenai peninsula. Watching the whales and the mountains shooting out of the ocean, THIS is what shot into my brain. Pure wonder and enthusiasm. Pretty good for an 8 year old.

una vez estaba cambiando la tele, y habia un reportaje de justin bieber, que es uno de los musicos adolescentes mas famosos, que era un artista joven, y me imagine a mozart diciendo bitch please, dado que esta sinfonia la hizo a los 8
+NostalgiaKarl OF course. Mozart came just after arok music. So the harpischords were always an important instrument in music. It was the master piece of "La basse continue". You have to listen opera from Mozart where all the recitativo are made with harpischord :)
+NostalgiaKarl the music of beginings of the clasical time use harpsichord, because the pianos was so rare and new, sorry for the ortography, the thing is , im mexican
A good but not brilliant symphony. An OK first movement, almost like a study than a finished work. A second movement that isn't exactly bursting with ideas. And an OK ending. If you compared it with, say, J. C. Bach's Symphony 6 in G minor, or with J. Haydn's Symphony 25 in C major - both roughly contemporaneous - it's not in the same league, and those aren't masterpieces. And I've always wondered how much his father might have changed in his transcription. But... a mediocre symphony only if it were written by a mature composer. J. C. Bach was 29 in 1764, J. Haydn 32. Mozart was not quite 8 3/4. :) And his father may have smoothed over any rough edges, but Wolfgangerl shines through! There are things in this little symphony that foreshadow what Mozart wrote up to the very end of his short life, things that he approached over and over again, that this is undoubtedly his. A beautiful, touching little gem. Thank you.
Mozart composed this when he was just 8 years old😮 amazing! thank you for sharing..
Unbelievable to have such a piece at 8. Prodigy, is really a small word to describe Mozart because he went far beyond.
I'm 72, and can't write a single note! But I sure can appreciate genius! :)
now you 80 years old?

This symphony has the scent of genius
There is no such thing as the hit or miss Mozart's works
All is splendid, great
Early Mozart is so nice with Harpsichord! I recgonize the princial violist from the San Francisco Symphony. Wonderful group!
Nothin like starting the day off with a cup of joe and Mozart!
Mitchell Stronczek Yes with 8 year old Mozart! Truly a genius and real prodigy that we can all enjoy with a cup of coffee
man of my heart!
This is miraculous at any age.

In case if you don't know, Mozart's father helped to write his first symphony. By the way, this is a great recording!
And our lungs help us breathe.
His father gave him strict discipline and a very high musical education, but the relation between them was, to say the less, quite complicated!
This is great! I also love that the conductor does not use a stick, but his hands! I think conductors sticks are so lame!
i love mozart
That Andante!!! It is going to my Mozart playlist right now :)
5:45 and 6:07. Even eight-year-old Wolfie understood the power of the mighty ii-V-I !
He wasn't a genius, he was THE genius.
Mi nieto Mathias, de 6 años , le gusta la musica de Mozart. Estoy escuchandola, para poder compartir con mi nieto.
😊to be written by an 8-year-old boy, he was way ahead of his age, excellent work
El inicio del mayor genio musical de la historia

Mozart was eight years old when he wrote this poem.

Symphony You Mean
Mozart is amazing. Very envy his ability.
This is the Mannheim/Stamitz style which influenced the very young Mozart.
Excellent performance.

Very very well ejecutated, congratulations to the director.

Mozart : Wonderful! You mean women play in the orchestra too, in this novel 21st century?
No bigotry intended.
Just listen to the pathos in that Andante.

Oddly enough, it's supposed to help against back pain, and/or any other body pains that playing the viola can cause.
Is this a roast against violas?
この時代の曲ってやっぱり通奏低音入れるべきですね。
W.Aモーツアルトさんの作品は初期でも通奏低音入りの
演奏はほとんどないのでこれは貴重だと思います。
和光新倉 eh!?

First viola looking spicy 🤣
Mozart had harpsichords in his early symphonies?
Alto Saxophonist Erik Karl Yes, as did Haydn, Dittersdorf, and Vanhal. The texture is fantastic when added tastefully!
sfacademyorchestra Nice, but i thought Harpsichords were a baroque thing.

Well, that's a really strange-looking Viola.
On what planet did that gentleman buy it?
Can anyone confirm with me thAt the tempo is perfect or at least worth K16.?
It's an ergonomic viola.
What makes a genius then?
The brass needs to play louder but this was a good performance either way
never say that or they could hear you!!!
