@ReelRejects I’m so happy to hear you guys enjoyed this! I remember commenting on your reaction to the 2nd trailer that this film will be epic so it’s good to see Dune is getting the love it deserves. Cannot wait to Friday! LONG LIVE THE FIGHTERS
Just saw this for the first time yesterday and I was blown away. Easily the most breathtaking spectacle I've ever seen. Being old(er) I remember a gimmick in the 1970s called "Sensurround" where the sound level was cranked up and your seats shook. That's what you get with Dune 2 and I wasn't expecting that. I was just in awe of this movie and the story gripped me. Timothee is perfect here. He's so soft spoken that when he yells it throws you back in your seat. I wish I could see this in IMAX but my AMC doesn't have it.
Am I the only one who found myself crying alot during this film? Not necessarily from the performances although they aided in conveying the weight, but the entire premise of the film is just heartbreaking and left me processing it alot afterwards.
Yes it’s like a mirror of the global affairs especially the American one. It is glorious and heartbreaking all at once. For me anyway…..that’s the magic in it seeing the warmth, love, and tragedies that affect us all.
I disagree with Bautista performance, he did great portraying what his character suppose to feel and express when not trying to disappoint the baron, he really went into character especially when times he was afraid, you can tell from his eyes and face expression, probably bautista best performance I've seen
They weren’t disappointed with Bautista’s performance. They were disappointed with where they took the character and how they didn’t expand on him much
Loved this sequel. So many memorable cinematic shots and some killer acting. Javier Bardem is hilarious and he had my theatre laughing almost every time he was on screen, and Austin Buttler gave me hardcore Frieza vibes as Feyd. Timothée Chalamet goes through a powerful transformation throughout the course of the movie and you can’t help but cheer for him when he’s on screen. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s nominated for an Oscar. Can’t wait to watch it again in theaters and buy it on Blu-ray.
It was an amazing movie and experience. Felt DEFINITELY epic and truly pulled you into the world of Dune even further. Can't wait for part 3! So fun watching with fellow fans at the screening. Thank you @ReelRejects, you are all awesome! Feel so lucky I was able to attend.
Zendaya for best actress is far more likely, in my opinion. But yes, best supporting for Butler and Ferguson are this film's best chances for acting nominations.
So glad to see someone having a lengthier discussion about this movie. Just saw it last night and need to unpack that masterpiece. I need an expanded Dune universe
There's no Dune part 3. Book one is over. The next film is book 2 (film 3), Dune: Messiah. I can't wait to see this film multiple times in the cinema! 🎉
Love your critique's I watched the premiere and found myself agreeing with a lot of your opinions. You guys are the reason I'm starting a podcast about film because I love the honesty you bring to the internet about these films.
I’m going total hype mode for this film. It’s the greatest science fiction film ever made and my new favourite film of all time. Going to see it for a third time very soon
I need to see it in IMAX. I have not stopped listening to the soundtrack since I saw it, it's incredible. The ending of the movie felt so glorious and righteous but also immediately tragic. It was so fucking good
I went to an IMAX showing at the Tropicana at Atlantic City with my brothers after I saw the first film prior; and it was such an immersive experience. Paul Atreides was so intimidating to watch and Timothy Chalamet’s performance was phenomenal, it’s one of those performances where you see the character and not the actor as the character if that makes any sense. Christopher Walken was alright, there wasn’t much of his character performance that I believed in because he’s Christopher Walken. The cinematography, the sound quality was surprisingly excellent, the lighting, the atmosphere, and the story was insanely well written. I can confidently say that this is on par with the first film for sure, along with the little bits of criticism that I share with you guys. For first viewing, I give it a 90% and maybe some more. So excited for the next film! Edit: also that twist you guys were talking about was nuts and I didn’t even read the books, so it left me quite a surprise!
I saw it for the first time the other day and I don’t see the hype at all. Maybe seeing part 2 will change my perspective but I was left extremely underwhelmed
@@malik6091tbh I think also seeing in the theatre made my experience a whole lot better. I get why ppl don’t love the first cause it’s quite slow. But the worldbuilding, characters are so good.
SPOILERS (Even for book readers who haven't seen part 2) I really REALLY loved what they did to Paul in this one. The way he literally became this religious figure, and everyone starts worshipping him. Jesus Christ. The shivers I got. And Timothy did SUCH a good job of adding a thick layer of epicness. Also, what they did with Chani, to my memory, is very different from the book. In the book, Chani never got angry at Paul (I think). In this movie, she's really pissed off at him. Man ... his character in this movie is so damn great it's actually insane
I really didn’t believe a sequel would top the unique and mind blowing experience of the first film but they really did it this film was narratively epic and visually masterful and the performances were incredible not one second of screen time wasted massive congrats on this masterpiece 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
One thing I’ve noticed here in the US is that not all IMAX screens are the same. There is an AMC IMAX screen nearest me and it’s nothing like some of the screens I’ve seen in other cities, especially some of the older screens. The older screens were HUGE and really wrapped around the theater. The one near my house is big…it’s loud…but there isn’t anything special about it. If someone didn’t tell you it was an IMAX you would not know it. Seriously. Has anyone else seen this? Because I’m not paying the high cost for an IMAX if it just looks like any other screen.
The thing with the books is those creative decisions like the twist, have a greater impact down the line. Trying to be non spoilery but everything has a purpose.
Saw it last night and 100% it is a technical achievement it transporting you to another world, the sound, visuals, cinematography all top notch. The work ride was peek jaw dropping. I loved the themes of religion and political intrigue, the fights all wonderful. My biggest disappointment though and I find this with many of Denis movies, I just don’t have an emotional connection or stakes to the characters. That emotional investment of getting me to care is really what holds it back for me. But it is solid in all other aspects. 8/10
Did u see the 1 st movie. I definitely was in vested in n Paul Lady Jessica & Stilger Imo they were the movie. The problem is Zendaya was weak actress in this if she were more convincing Paul would have been more conflicted but Timothee was fantastic

I think Greg will understand more on why they did the “reveal” in the third act more so on the second viewing. It’s all about who are going to be the next oppressors one of the very first lines from Zendaya in Dune Part one. Once you hear the revelation in Dune Part Two for Paul it makes so much sense. A beautiful, tragic film.
In the book, that reveal takes place when Paul and Jessica are in the tent after escaping Arakeen, but I really felt it made more sense to happen where it did in this film.
As reader of the book in most religion there is Messiyah, DUNE has theme of the core of the chosen one but make it in boy mind the best sci-fi story I hv read and Deni has blown my mind he made one of the stories I love to love more all am gonna say Thank u
I felt weird saying it for the last movie, but this solidified it. A barren desolate desert can be portrayed beautifully! I thought this was a better film than the first. More story, more emotions, more action, great acting, and a better ending. The first movie wasn't necessarily something I thought I needed to watch again. This one, I will watch again!
Im so excited .i always see in IMAX ... i can tell by your energy you love it .before i clicked on .. im so happy its just as good or better than the first .!!! Thanks for the video .. i cant wait .. im sure ill see it at least 3 times or more
Really isn’t achievement one of the reason that the book was considered unfilmable was because of how dense and complex it was he did an amazing job bravo.
I read the first 6 books and I don't think they could ever make a movie so intricate. These two parts are pretty good though, can't wait for part three.
I feel like a lot of people didn't get the idea behind Bautista's portrayal of Raban. He's a big scarry man that used fear as a tool to gain and submit others. He's a skilled fighter, but nowhere near as good as Feyd or Gurney or Paul. And Raban is a meat head with little to no good battle IQ. The Harkonnens won battles because of they almost have unlimited ressources, but they are poorly trained soldiers. When Raban was given the task to put Spice production back on track, he was quickly overwhelmed by the aggressive Fremen attacks. When he had to face Muadid he just runs like a fucking Coward. He screams because it's the only way he knows how to lead man. I just wished is death was a little more satisfying. It was to quick IMO.
I immediately wanted to rewatch this movie upon seeing the credits roll. This was an incredible experience and I'm definitely gonna get me ass back in a theater seat as soon as I'm able to.
I just wish this time 4k bluray is imax ratio. & not the shit 21:9 again. Because dune part 1 4k bluray never had imax ratio even though Denis said that version is available somewhere. Atleast they didn't shoot any shots in 21:9 cinemascope so hopefully they do proper 4k bluray.

When the movie ends, I felt heartbroken... I agreed, it's a tragedy...
In tears, so incredibly and densely tragic.
This movie was incredible. Saw the IMAX fan premire here last night. Blew me away.
The saddest part there is no healing in the lies of these characters. It just gets worse.
I disagree with Bautista performance, he did great portraying what his character suppose to feel and express when not trying to disappoint the baron, he really went into character especially when times he was afraid, you can tell from his eyes and face expression, probably bautista best performance I've seen
The character is so one-note he feels like he's in another movie. Not Bautista's fault but he sucks.
They weren’t disappointed with Bautista’s performance. They were disappointed with where they took the character and how they didn’t expand on him much
Just watched it and BY GOD. IT'S THE VERY DEFINITION OF EPIC.
I just got done watching this, and I was blown away. What an unforgettable cinematic experience! Mouth is still open.
Love that you had a great time! Pleasure DUNE business. 😎
Just finished watching it in IMAX. It was THEE BEST experience I’ve EVER HAD in a theater!

*People who've read Dune Messiah, u know what he means.
I'm realy curious of how they're gonna go about adapting God-Emperor Dune, if they ever get that far
@@salomaogomes7311they need to be very careful with that one.didnt like 3500 years pass between children of dune and god emperor of dune?
@@MikeySkywalker pretty sure it's even more time, like 10.000 years. Worm boy's Golden path was the definition of "long-term".

@jfreitag88Alia's abomination takes place in Children of Dune. They'd have to make a fourth film for that to happen.
Timothee Chalamet Oscar Nomination?!
It will be tough I think the supporting roles getting a nomination is more likely here Butler and Furguson
In the very least. (Even though I think Oscars are bull)
strong hopes, he deserves it
Zendaya for best actress is far more likely, in my opinion. But yes, best supporting for Butler and Ferguson are this film's best chances for acting nominations.
@@jfreitag88let’s stop acting like Zendaya is meh, she’s consistently been great
So glad to see someone having a lengthier discussion about this movie. Just saw it last night and need to unpack that masterpiece. I need an expanded Dune universe
There's no Dune part 3. Book one is over. The next film is book 2 (film 3), Dune: Messiah.
I can't wait to see this film multiple times in the cinema! 🎉
Quinn’s Ideas non-spoiler review is up. He’s like a Dune scholar with in-depth videos
Quinn has opened up so many books to me I would have never thought to read. Love that guy
Saw it yesterday in IMAX holy shitttt it surpassed my hype ❤️🔥 can’t wait to watch again on friday IMAX again
So pumped for this. Ever since they announced Denis as the director, I knew we were in for a great time at the movies.

Going to see it for a third time very soon
nah i saw it on imax and man the tears and goosebumps were real...all the way from the moment it srated to the end just in true AWEE
Greatest sci-fi epic ever put on the screen hands down. Denis truly accomplished something I’m sure no one else could have.
Can confirm, part two is gasssssss omg it was so good 😂 those visuals are in-saaaanneeeeeeeeeee
Well said. I agree
Incredible movie .... Should def get a best picture nomination
Timothée Chalamet was amazing in Wonka. He is fantastic in everything.
So excited to finally see this!! 🔥
Hope people support the movie. We don’t get epic movies like this very often
I rewatched Dune recently and liked it more the second time. Excited to see this on thursday
@@lilbubblegumleaks8104 yeah it definitely looks like a movie that’s built for the theatre experience
SPOILERS (Even for book readers who haven't seen part 2)
I really REALLY loved what they did to Paul in this one.
Just watched it and immediately came back to this. I am now a changed person.
I have never been able to watch an IMAX movie because the nearest theatre to me with IMAX is an hour long drive...
This movie might be worth it...
same, im an hour away from the nearest imax too. just got out of my imax screening and it is 10000000% worth it
Yes it is but I get it if u can’t but go see it where u can
There are exactly two IMAX cinemas in my entire country. The closest one is a six-seven hour drive. I think I’ll settle. 😂
Saw part 1 again last night. Hype to watch this in theaters
Got my imax amc tickets for Saturday! I was looking forward to your guy's reactions and review
So hyped
Long live the fighters!
Greig Fraser is the cinematographer.
The thing with the books is those creative decisions like the twist, have a greater impact down the line. Trying to be non spoilery but everything has a purpose.
Oscar worthy for sure, I hope they remember come awards season
Dune part one blew me away! Can't wait for part two!
Seeing it Friday! Can't wait!
Am I The Only One Who Prefers Dolby Cinema Over IMAX?
I Feel Like The Sound And Bass And Rumble Is Just So Much Better
Watched it yesterday too and man its really good
Just watched it again and going to another imax screening next week....it just gets better each time so far ❤
Watched it twice over the weekend. Masterpiece
Regarding Bautista and Rabban = there's actually less of Rabban in the novel. Villeneuve actually expanded the character in Part 2.
He was actually killed "off-screen in the novel. It was nice seeing Gurney having the pleasure of deleting that fucker on-screen.
I definitely was in vested in n Paul Lady Jessica & Stilger
Imo they were the movie. The problem is Zendaya was weak actress in this if she were more convincing
Paul would have been more conflicted but Timothee was fantastic
Did u see Prisoners
Watch it
Something about a prestige director directing blockbuster action sequences is just such an exciting prospect
With the sand worm scene Timothee said they worked on it a long time so that probably helps the immersion
Even if I couldn’t make it to this living in portland im thankful you held something like this for fans as a kid the midnight ore screenings were special to make it even better and more memorable you guys are wicked man!!
Go see it!
@@stephaniemoore9122 oh i did in imax last sunday!!!! I like the first one more but i wanna watch them BOTH to see if it just works better together. But to me growing up during LOTR but being to young to go to the theater to see them dune part two is my LOTR its the greatest thing iv seen spectacle wise next too interstellar. It was jaw dropping. The baby stuff INSANE. And what blows my fucking mind being an IT fan is dune is doing what it part one and two couldnt in my opinion. This feels like a legit turning of the page vs it chapter two that feels like a whole new movie new book no fluidity. Anywho i can not grade part one and two not together now cause the movie as a whole with both is 9-10!
The Dune 2021 and Dune Part 2 is AN AWESOME MOVIE!! AWESOME
I can't tell you how long I've been waiting to see your guys reaction. I can't wait to see this film.
Also watched it last night. Had 1 issue with the plot but that’s about it. 9/10 for me.
more than 1 plot issue IMO

Can’t wait to see this in IMAX on Friday.
Seen it in Dolby atmos, absolutely mind blowing experience! Masterpiece
Villeneuve better not get snubbed again…
Saw it last night in English at IMAX, Quebec city. Fantastic movie. I will definitely go back to see it. I think i will re-watch part one before.
Im so excited .i always see in IMAX ... i can tell by your energy you love it .before i clicked on
.. im so happy its just as good or better than the first .!!! Thanks for the video .. i cant wait .. im sure ill see it at least 3 times or more
Really isn’t achievement one of the reason that the book was considered unfilmable was because of how dense and complex it was he did an amazing job bravo.
saw it on saturday and im about to see it again tmr night. so good
I read the first 6 books and I don't think they could ever make a movie so intricate. These two parts are pretty good though, can't wait for part three.
Dune II change cinema forever as same did for example Goodfather I & II or Star Wars Original Trilogy
Bummed I could score tickets to the event but great vid can't wait to go see it
Just finished part one and am so glad i waited until now to watch it. 2 years is way too long😂
This is the greatest movie I’ve ever seen. Bought all the books after watching it. I need more.
