  • In the first video in this series I basically play about with touchdesigner to make some simple feedback bits and bobs and then make a simple controller for it.

Hi! the video is already 6 years old but I wonder if there is a way to do what you're doing here, but having the visuals you're not using to be not rendering until the moment you trigger them? :) Just to not overkill my pc :)

Great video thanks, could you tell me what you do at 2:36 in order to get the material op into the geo1 op? TD is completely new to me but i was able to follow easily up till this point i've tried alt click cntrl click and every other thing i can think of...

+Ben Hall You just drag the Phong MAT onto the Geometry COMP and then it should show a little popup menu saying "parm material", click that. If it's not showing up for you another method would be to go to the render tab on the Geometry COMPs parameters and type the material name "phong1" directly into the Material field.

I just realised i wasn't inside the geometry op i had a sphere there instead. Once i cut the other ops and placed them inside a geometry i was able to continue. Thank you for replying :) i will continue following the vid now.

Hi. Just got a quick question about the transform TOP, the 'rotate scale' drop down menu isn't there and the three points of rotation has been replaced by a slider (-360 to 360). From what I've searched it looks like the 'Use Rotation Hint' should be selected in order to see the 3 individual parameters but I can't for the life of me see any way to select it in preferences or the transform parameters!
This is in the latest build; 58910. Any help greatly appreciated!

+FungleFunTime I don't believe there are any 3D transforms anymore as it's a 2D coordinate system, I believe they were removed to avoid confusion in 2D transforms. The composite operators still have 3D transforms if you need to do one of those.
