  • Although it is not easy to explain everything Touchdesigner does in such a short video, I have tried to summarize what I consider a sufficient explanation to clarify some doubts about the program. Support this and other tutorials 👉 / okamirufu
    In short:
    TouchDesigner is a versatile visual programming language used for creating real-time multimedia content. It allows artists, designers, and developers to build interactive installations, audiovisual performances, and complex generative art by connecting nodes called "operators." These operators handle various tasks such as image processing, 3D rendering, and data manipulation without the need for traditional coding. TouchDesigner integrates seamlessly with other software and hardware, making it a powerful tool for crafting innovative, interactive experiences. Its node-based interface makes it accessible for beginners while offering depth for advanced users.

    This is gr8, a friend told me about touch designer, that I hadn’t heard of …this is a great overview. I could definitely get into this as the modular interface appears to keep things simple enough to later explore more complex ideas. Cheers

      It's exactly like you mentioned, once you start exploring more about TD, you'll realize it has huge potential to expand into artistic areas, multimedia, the music scene, museums, experiences, etc. It's massive!

    Well done is Touch desiner used for non interactive visuals as well, things you can render and put on youtube or instagram or is better to use Blender, what do you see as the adventage compered to Blender, what do you think about open source alternatives such TOOLL3 ?

    • @OkamirufuV
      @OkamirufuV  3 месяца назад +2

      you are absolutely right, you can also do rendering, and I actually use it quite a bit for all the videos on social media. mmm advantages compared to blender, I am not sure how flexible Blender is, for example, in managing LED lights for stages or creating an api that uses weather data to generate graphics. It might be possible, but I feel that the blender community is more focused on high-end 3D animation than interactivity or real-time for now. In that sense, Touchdesigner has an extensive community dedicated to interactivity and real-time applications, where you can find answers to everything. This seems to be a strong advantage to me. However, the answer really depends on your goals.

    Great info and introduction to Touchdesigner! Are you going to do a deep dive at some point, like an example project or something? This is a good format, though I'm not a huge fan of the obvious AI voice and script, so many giveaways of artificial writing. "It's like a playground where imagination meets technology, empowering blah blah blah" Ok robot 😂 But the visuals are very on-point, makes it easy to follow. That wins out for me, subbed.

      @OkamirufuV  3 месяца назад +2

      Hi man, thanks for your feedback i will go deeper into concepts, ideas, and some other tools. My intention is to make TD more accessible to people who do not necessarily have a background in programming or creative coding because Touchdesigner It's like a playground where imagination meets technology.... haha joking thanks for subscribe

  • @gerooq

    Can you “compile” a TouchDesigner “script” into a program you can run in some headless environment? That would be an insanely convenient way to deploy a TouchDesign instance that ingests some data, processes it and spits data out over the network.
    Something like a proxy for stream data that runs as a daemon.

    • @OkamirufuV
      @OkamirufuV  27 дней назад

      That’s a very good question, and to be honest, I don't have a clear answer, but I think I understand what you're saying. I believe that in Max MSP, you can do something similar where node-based programming generates a window with everything in C++ code format to export to other applications. I’ve never really looked into whether something like that is possible in TD.
