I could be completely wrong, but I think I remember this correctly. If so, then are you having crashes while using another ReShade setup and/or version? Gamma is a great example of why you don't need suppression effects in a well made game. We can see several times where a bullet cracks by and there's a moment of panic and stumble while you try to come up with a plan. Much like real life, the suppression effect comes internally from not wanting to die, not externally from some blur-and-shake screen effect that just makes the game frustrating to play.
The new update got you big mad huh. They implemented it into the game to stop the cod tactics. Fact of the matter is it's easy to get used to just sounds after one session. In reality dozens of rounds flying at you is gonna cause panic and disorientation the blur effects were added to replicate the tunnel vision and confusion of suddenly being accurately shot at
You need suppression effect in games. As you said. It comes internally as you dont want to die so you will duck behind cover. In games there is no fear of death. Or at least is limited. There is nothing holding you back to challenge machine gun in a game. You die? You respawn. In games where there is a gear fear or something more at stake you naturally dont want to die.
