52 Day Wild North Atlantic Island Camping Adventure - E.4 - The Long Journey Continues

- Hi Folks!
This is Episode 4 of my New 6 Part Wilderness Expedition Series.
Follow Me and Saku through a wild island in the North Atlantic Ocean. We get dropped on the fringes of Newfoundland's 2,895km² Bay Du Nord Wilderness Reserve, an impressive untamed tract of wild country. There we will spend two months unsupported and far from civilization. The goal is to explore 300km of its uninhabited woods and waterways. But it will not be easy. It's hard work all the way but with it come rewards bigger than most can imagine!
In episode 4 the unspoiled and ruthless wilderness continues to impress as we explore some of its least known areas. Blistering summer sun has both the narrow headwater streams and us thirsty. There are many demanding portages over treacherous bush and boulders. The work is cut out to reach our desired lake. Majestic wild Woodland Caribou and other animals are seen around every corner roaming their natural habitats.
Be prepared to feel the elements, taste a true wilderness journey, and travel the old way leaving the motors behind.
The adventure rolls on!
I will air a new episode every Friday until the series is over.

Justin, my dad was a firefighter who lost a few teeth in an accident at work. He always hated wearing the false teeth he was fitted with. Eventually he "lost them". Years after he passed away, the garden path at my parents house started breaking up. When I dug up the concrete I found his teeth under the path. He'd buried them! Mum and I had a good laugh before I put them back and poured the new concrete over them. Do what you want. It's your mouth!
Our favourite treat when on canoe trips in Ontario many years ago was a blueberry bannock with blueberry sauce. One year camped in Quetico Provincial Park the blueberries were almost as big as small grapes and so abundant you could sit and pick all you could eat without moving. Oh, for those good old days!
Can’t believe only 49 thousand subscribers. I gotta tell people about this guy

I think you have one of the best channels on this platform. Anyone who doesn't like you not "wearing your teeth" doesn't deserve to watch your adventures!
I think the missing tooth gives him character!
I've been waiting all week for this! I tell you, this is better than Netflix.
Way better than Netflix!
Thanks, Frank I appreciate that! All the best & safe adventures out there
this is better than Disney Plus
@@dwarren1010 damn, I thought this WAS Disney+!
@@lesa8145 way better than fiction ^^
the comment about not liken you not wearing your teeth was priceless, guess it's hard for folks to see and feel the real you and your sidekick, made my day. priceless humor. loved the blueberries pancake.
as someone whos missing 2 bottom teeth the front bottom 2, i was born with baby teeth but the permanent teeth never came.. i had to have braces to push my bottom teeth to cover the missing gap and put 1 fake tooth in instead... of having 2 bottom teeth.. just 1.... and all this over high school when it mattered the most... lol still got girls....dude 100# i like people with missing teeth, buck teeth, crooked teeth...call me weird but i appreciate peoples natural teeth... i want to get my fake bottom tooth into gold and look bad ass....and soon i will... and with this gold tooth people will think twice about staring at me sideways !!!! lol jk about the last part but yeah i want a gold and white tooth i can switch over too
Non hockey players got no sense of humor 😆🤣
I know I only brush the ones I want to keep anyway 👍
Saku is the best dog on the internet, there I said it.
I like that he's quiet out there. Some dogs would be barking at all the wildlife. Sak fits right in.
Hes so good.hes a great companion
Such a well behaved dog. He will be there for me no matter what.
Justin, I love this. I completely forgive you for making us Southerners wait to get access to it. I will admit I was feeling slighted.
You have every right to utilize this wonderful footage to make your family good. I am so proud of you; Not in the sense that a parent is proud of a child, but just proud that another human being could do what I can only imagine doing, and thrive in it! And meanwhile filming it, like Dick Proennecke or something!!. I love camping and fishing, and being outdoors, but you take it to a level that I crave but probably will never be able to do. Nevertheless, it will inspire me to go on my own versions of adventures.
My hat is off to you, I admire few people as much as I do you. Good show, boss. Much Appreciation and Love from Ohio, USA.
Justin, your videos really are first-rate. 👍
It's a hell of a life you live, Justin. Cheers from the US!
Who doesn't like you wearing no teeth!? My little sister has a fake front tooth and I always love when she doesn't wear it ! She is beautiful with and without! Your adventures are great . Saku is a incredible pup .Thanks for these wonderful videos. ✌
Teeth or no teeth, an amazing journey and very well documented. Loved every minute of it.
This is why I love Fridays - Another great episode with Justin and Saku.
Came for the banick, stayed for the glorious sunsets. Beautiful adventure! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks glad to have you, all the best!

This Guy and His Dog
ROCKS..👍
(Edit)... Justin, it would be cool to see you ,Saku ,do a trip on the exact Route of the ill-fated Hubbard/Wallace expedition to Labrador (1903)..😁
Another awesome adventure 👌
Can't tell you how much I'm enjoying this series.
I really am enjoying your choice of sound tracks as well.
Cheers 👍
People ask me, "why are you still a Leafs fan?". I tell them it is like a Justin Barbour adventure. It is a question with no answer, but you have to ask it. Every cove and clearing needs to be explored with the hope of a return for asking the question. The journey builds hope and pushes you to stick with it. The hope, one day you will reach the ocean on what seems like an endless river. You stick with what you love, and a rough trail does not make you abandon the route. The ocean is there. Or.... It is terrible management and I just like their uniforms. Much love from Ontario ~ A fallen leaf. LOL.
all read in justin barbour's voice of course
@@skuzzy1224 Of course. But there is only one original. I love Justin''s writing,

Wow, Eastern Meelbaeg was absolutely gorgeous country, surreal when it was all flat calm like that. The Bannock looked awesome and Saku certainly loves his blueberries! 🙂 I can't wait for the next installment, Thanks Justin and Saku, you made my day 🙂

Another dandy episode. I could almost taste that blueberry bannock. In the 25 years I have been living off the rock, I have never been away this long. This channel certainly fills a void in my soul. Hope to visit in the very near future. Cheers man!

Thanks Justin for this beautiful adventure , shall be waiting for the next Epp. Sue , Ontario
I'm an inlander but my father right back to my great grandfather are Newfoundlanders.
I just want to say how much I appreciate you all. I have so many fond memories of camping in this area as a kid. All the best to you lovely people and thanks Justin for your fantastic videos!
You take me back to my time in the woods and what fond memories spring forth; even fumbling with the chest buckles after hoisting a too heavy pack. Thank you Justin.
I think Saku is due a whole lot of the credit. What a cool campion. Imagine the poor chap hooked up on the branch . You often wonder about that .
Mouth is watering for bottled caribou!!
I like how saku looks around and takes it all in. He’s living a great life
Yep that full moon shot was what did it for me this video!! Saku is awesome. I don't know how you dont have a million subs already?? Love watching your adventures!! Stay safe out there😀
For those precious dislikes, sorry this isn't your customary mall exploration video! Sometimes life outside is a little strange with all the fresh air and stuff! From the rest of us uncouth lovers of wilderness, thumbs up again J.B. keep them coming!
I fully appreciate the fulfillment you get from this journey. So pristine, and bountiful. Thanks for this and I look forward to the next one. Happy trails.

Hi from BC! Thank you for taking us on your adventure!
setting up home base is awesome. especially when your there for a day or two and u get some nice rain to make things peaceful and u get some nice fish on the line for u and saku to enjoy
Great video. How can watching a video of a real person being himself living his amazing life go wrong. Cheers bud
Rockin and roll what a way to end a Friday! Love your videos!
I love the music you play and I wish I could look at the sunsets over and over again. Can't thank you enough for your wonderful photography and your words that describes a landscape through poetry.
You are a lucky person to have these great adventure. Justin beautiful wilderness..
Hey Justin - have loved your adventures from the beginning of your videos. Haven't commented much. I always knew you would keep going out and your channel would get seen by many more subscribers. And you have a nice girl waiting for your return. How much better can life get for brave young lads? Never missed one shot yet! love and blessings..
ps - What beats a lonesome Loon on a sunset lit lake and hearing your own heartbeat and Saku breathing? Every man should know these things.
I live in the busy suburbs and when that silence happens it's really something. I experience it in Quetico Park when the wind is still. You can hear your own heartbeat.
@@tomtirabasso6954 Nice..
i too have Been Waiting . Cool :)
I admire your drive, endurance and woodsman ship. Your dog is the perfect partner, there always eager to go, and you can always depend on them for moral support ! Interesting how the trout were in the smaller lakes/ponds, they seem to go deep in bigger water. Takes a lot of courage and will to do what your doing.
That bannock though ❤️❤️
magnificent. take care of him saku he's only human. harharhar. have fun
My birth certificate says Robinson's but was born in Stephenville crossing. Raised in Bonavista bay but spent most summers at my uncles on Flat bay brook. So many great memories there. Have a 6 month old chocolate lab/ Chesapeake bay retriever. Shes amazing. Watching this video makes me want to be back home with dolly were we can be outdoors and free to roam. I've lived in Ontario for the pass 30 years where there are laws against everything. Rode home on my motocycle a few years ago and i miss being able to just go down a road and camp pretty much anywhere.
I rarely ever watch TV but I can watch your videos all day everyday. I just love them and you’ve done a beautiful job on putting them together. I’m so happy for you & Saku. I get thrilled & excited when I see a new video come up in my notifications. ❤️
Pure outdoors magic - pushing yourself to go further and building resilience and then on top of that filming the adventure and then editing it for us consumers - thank you thank you thank you Justin. You inspire me to push myself too
Looks fantastic! I'm really enjoying your content! Greetings from Sweden. =)
As an American whose trip to Newfoundland got cancelled last year, for ...uh...reasons, I'm very much enjoying your show, but the real star is Saku. Can't wait to see a little bit of Newfoundland in person....one day...
