This whole notion that there are no expectations on a 55th pick is ridiculous. Of course there are expectations of a 55th pick in the NBA draft. Are they or should they be at the same level of one of the lottery picks or even a first rounder, of course not. Even the final pick in the NBA draft has expectations met on them because he just got drafted by the NBA. The issue is that you have a whole chorus of people trying to justify nepotism and downplay the fact that this kid is not as good as any of the other draft picks nor even some players that went undrafted. All they need to do is admit that he got drafted due to nepotism and not because of any talent commensurate with his draft selection and call it a day. There is nothing else that anyone can say after that.
