    Wow thanks so much. I built a 3 filter bank and use a 10, 5, 1 set up. I was thinking of going 5, 1 and .5 like yours. Does the .5 give you adequate flow? I'm getting a water softener ASAP so I'm loving all the QDs you have. I'm tired of the mess of the water spilling out of my filter bank into a bin when traveling.

    Hello Steve. great video. question for you. Since you already have house filtration in addition to this solution, do you even have water pressure at the tap? Wouldn't it be okay to bypass the water regulator all together with all of this equipment between the water source and taps?

    • @RVSquaredSteve
      @RVSquaredSteve  Год назад +2

      Thank you! Good question, but keep in mind that "all of this equipment" is filtering the water that goes into the tank. From there, the on-board pump is what boosts and regulates the pressure in the coach. As for the regulator, YOU ABSOLUTELY DO benefit greatly from having it AT THE HOSE BIB/HYDRANT! Reason being, you want to LIMIT the incoming pressure to a max of 60psi BEFORE it hits any of this equipment OR the coach for that matter. Many resorts do not regulate their bib's pressure and can exceed a safe amount; increasing the chance of damage to anything from a hose to a filter or worse. So, why not STOP that from happening AT THE SOURCE!?
      Hope this helps.

    Cartridge type/setup recommendation to add something highly effective against iron? Albeit very quality spec'd filters in yours, looks like I would need to sub one (or add - 4 cartridge setup?) for my high iron issue. We seasonally camp at our lake property with a shallow sand-point well so very high iron which is staining fixtures after 1 week already. Thanks!

    Your list has 3 quick connects but I count at least 4 , maybe 5? With 3, I have to keep it me permanent on in side of filter and one on water softener. The 3 are then on one side of filter and softener and regulator? Do you concur? You show at least 3 - 2 on the softener and one on the filter.

      The systems I design and build have many sets; ranging from 5 to 8, depending on the components put in play. The list is there as a reference and the QC come in sets of 3, so 2 packs are needed for most applications. Thanks for watching.

    Thank you, did the same setup, used quick connect fittings, used tape for all fittings, they still leak, redid the tape, still leak, how to address leakage? Thank you

    • @RVSquaredSteve
      @RVSquaredSteve  9 месяцев назад

      You’re welcome; thanks for watching. I don’t know where your leaks are. For the pipe fittings, certain fittings are made sloppy. I’ve been able to find ones with good machining. If it’s the hose threads, those also depend on a good washer. I put my systems together with a lot of care, tape and sealant, and correct tightness. Before delivery, I pressure test the entire system for 12 hours to make sure everything is lead-free. HTH

      Yes, thanks for the howto. I built mine and its not 100% leak proof. My leaks are coming from the fitting between the housings. Ive used tape and tape + paste, still leaks. After about an hour of messing around, I figured the campsite faucet would leak a lot more that my filters. I get one drip every 60 secs....

    I use quick connects and have some issues with leaks, etc. I keep them clean and try to use silicon spray for easier connections. How are the ones you are using for leaks. On my water softener, the rope handle finally gave out and I need another. Do you know where one could be purchased? Thanks for all the great videos. Very good content and well explained. Always wanted a Newell, but happy with my Foretravel. Safe travels!

      Hi Joe, thank you very much for the kind words and for watching my videos!
      Please check my descriptions for the links to the type of couplers I'm using; I've been very pleased with them thus far. The internal o-rings do make a difference, and I keep them clean and lubed with silicone grease. I also use tape and dope on all my threaded couplings.
      As for the poly rope handle, NO problem; just go to your hardware store and get a foot or so of hollow poly rope. Making a splice is a 2 minute job. You make a loop and thread the end into the hollow core and pull it tight, like a chinese-fingercuff!

      Depends on the type you've used, how you've installed them, and the care given to the O-ring. The systems I build use an internal o-ring which I keep lubed, and seal all of my fittings and not had leaks for years over dozens of systems and fittings. Thank you.

      @@RVSquaredSteve would love to know the brand you used. I ordered I thought mid grade but decent packs from Amazon. Most are new but especially out of the softener they drip some. I need to make it work otherwise it’s a much longer recharge and setup time.
      I’m also trying to find the right box to install attic this in the heated bay for winter so maybe Pex fittings. Idk yet. Loved the information.

    I wonder if you could use something like this to take the hardness out of pool water?

    • @RVSquaredSteve
      @RVSquaredSteve  10 месяцев назад

      Wonderful idea! But this system is way under the capacity needed to fill/filter even a small 20k gallon pool. Most people choose salt-water pools to combat hard water. Much more efficient and cost effective than filtering.

    Hello Steve! I use this in my apartment shower. I only have the water softener tank. So how much difference does it make to have those three filter system? I see that you just push hose in and out(instead of screwing them), that looks very convenient, what's the name of that? And would you mind telling me where can I purchase those?

    • @RVSquaredSteve
      @RVSquaredSteve  10 месяцев назад

      Hello, thanks for watching. Most domestic systems will simply use a softener. For whole house filtration, you would go through filters faster, but it would give you better quality water for all purposes; especially for consumption (ie, ice, coffee, drinking).
      All info you need is in the description.

    But can it make raw water drinkable?

    • @RVSquaredSteve
      @RVSquaredSteve  6 месяцев назад

      It’s a good question and, while 0.5 microns is known to filter out bacteria, I strongly suggest researching your specific application for the best safety for raw water filtration.
