What always vexxes me is that now that there are "minority" communities in places like east LA but they use to be full of whites or use to be Italian or jew neighborhoods...where did all these communities go? Or did they just integrate and become "white" or "American" before the hyphen
Jews moved to west LA and still live in segregated but wealthier areas, most of the Beverly Hills and surrounding area Jews originated from Boyle heights, the Italians assimilated to American middle class at least in California, in NY you can still tell them apart
