No sound at all or just no music? If it's just music, CD audio is routed directly to the main audio outputs so the connection could be broken. Look for corrosion and clean it with IPA and repair any broken connections with a wire or a solder bridge. If there"s no sound at all likely culprits are IC305 and IC310 (the chips are labelled on the board). Try pushing down on them while playing and see if sound comes back (be careful not to touch the PSU). If sound comes back when you press down on them it may just be a cold solder joint and you can fix it by re-soldering the affected pin.
First I take apart the entire PlayStation, and scrub all of the plastic parts using a brush in warm water with dish detergent. Then the plastic parts are submerged in a solution of 12% hydrogen peroxide cream and water under UV lights to remove the yellowing. This can take a day or two. After it has returned to its natural colour I smooth out larger scratches with a 400 grit wet and dry sandpaper. Then the plastic is washed again. I clean the motherboard and PSU with isopropyl alcohol 99% and check for any damaged components or traces. The CD drive is cleaned with isopropyl alcohol too, and is lubricated with white lithium grease. The laser lens is cleaned with a Q-tip and isopropyl alcohol. All of the connectors and ports are cleaned with contact cleaner and a nylon brush. Then I put everything back together again for testing. I will make a tutorial video soon showing the whole process of restoring a fat PS1 with a list of all of the products I use..

Wow nice job u turned it just like it came out from factory. Good job keep it up
Well deserving of a like and a watch
Amazing work!
What grit sandpaper did you use and what was that you used to lubricate the sandpaper? 12:51
Have you tried without the UV lamps? I heard it can also work but it takes longer?
You can just use sunlight. It works, but it takes longer like you say.
I have my ps1 scph-1001 it came from eBay it works fine however there's no music.

Great video, my friend ... new sub ;)
And how did you manage to clean it so well? Tell me the full composition, be so kind.
