I disagree , it kind of made it worse. Why was Longlegs even at the Harker’s house in the first place? Was he just killing girls born on 14th alone? She had no father figure whose mind Longlegs could have bent and twisted with the doll. And we know thats what he wanted to do since young Lee saw the cloaked doll in his car. It’s a really big plothole in my opinion.
@@domonicdecoco2410 this is something I'm not sure about either but it seems to big to actually be a plothole, in other words I think its part of the design of his plan but maybe we missed the explanation somewhere in the movie. Maybe he himself was the "father figure" who unalives themselves, he lived in their damn basement (and I do mean damned lol). Maybe it has something to do with his birthday gift to her, maybe its something he mentions in the jail confession scene, where he's talking about the devil wanting to "keep this one for himself" or with her house being whiter than all the rest. I'm not sure yet but there has to be an explanation, it can't just be a plot hole. Going in for a second viewing to see if I can see what I missed.
Your review is by far the best analyzed and better explained videos I’ve come across. I also feel like your review is the most honest. You aren’t bashing the movie, you are celebrating and commending its victories - but you also share where it fell short and I respect that. I just became a subscriber and look forward to watching your content. Great work 🤘🔥
What do you think why opinions are so spectecularily divided on this film? I haven't seen anything like it in a while. It looks like it's one of those films that just align with my personal preferences really well, and personal preference seems to play such a massive role with this movie. One trend I've been noticing is that those with really negative opinions tend to be... I dunno, like... normies? If that's what you can call them. But not always, so the question still stands.
Yeah I mean you’re right. With peace and love the people I see hate this are the crowds that are used to stuff like the Nun type movies. This is as scary as it was said to be just some people don’t have that patience and expections plays into it. I’ve seen there’s an issue in all art forms that propel expect something and when it doesn’t align with their fantasies it’s bad opposed to seeing what is objectively in front of them and seeing it as that. I saw this last night and I still can’t shake it off and I’m going again tonight so I’m not sure. It is annoying though you have to also understand some people do make being contrarians their whole personality as well
Same reaction to The Blackcoat’s Daughter. People initially posted vids saying it was meh then watched again on blue ray and loved it. I love Perkins, this was awesome!
I was on edge the entire film. The wide camera had me always looking around as if somering was going to pop up in the empty space. The tension was there the entire film in my opinion and because I watched hours of content going over the birthday murders and deciphering the codes I had a better understanding of what to expect. I think all the reviewers who didn't put in their early reviews that there was a supernatural bend to the film did it a disservice. People went in thinking they were in for a straight forward silence of the lambs/zodiak style thriller. Which I can see why the outcome could leave them disappointed.
I just saw it. It’s definitely not as scary as I hoped but I think it’s one of the best horror movies I’ve seen. Very rewatchable for Nicolas’s performance alone
I don't understand why Harker's family would have been chosen if there was no father in the family, and they didn't mention him once so where is he? Part of me says they're planning a sequel.
Who cares about the father? He's not vital to this. The mother knew he was insane and evil and more or less made a deal to spare Lee from his influence Asking about the father is useless
@@JoeChilltonasking about the father is not useless . Why does every other family that gets killed has a mom dad and daughter except Lee? Major plot hole that’s never addressed. Just one of the many ridiculous writing points in this film
I hate when a horror movie tries to unsettle you to death like give us (the audience) a scene like in Part One ………. The house scene where someone in her house was a waste
Yeah, that was weird. Like why would she see someone walking around in her house...then sit back down like nothing happened. No call for back up, no leaving the house. She just sat back down in her dimly lit, freshly invaded home with her back to two open rooms like it was nothing. Weak writing.

Literally on my way to see it for the second time. No joke.
On track to see it again tomorrow.
I work at the theater and have now seen it 6 times.
For serious.

Not surprised. I think it’s very rewatchable. I know a couple years on I’ll grow an even more appreciation for it
Saw it a second time today, and it actually gave me chills in the third act even more when thinking about the context.
Well I just saw a third viewing and when I got to the first act again I realized that this movie sucked ass.
