The whole bass verse was Chance... He has a 4 octave vocal range. Tim has a 5 octave vocal range. Chance was the bass singer in the group he was in before home free.. 😊❤ that group was called Street Corner Symphony.
The artist Cam was the first to record this, Home Free recorded it in 2018. If you want to hear more of Tim's higher range, check out his doo wop solos, like "Will You Still Love me Tomorrow/Stay" and "Why Do Fools Fall in Love".
I have full faith in the guys finding a new high tenor. If you think about it, Tim, Rob, Austin and Chance were all "replacements" for previous members and each time, they have selected the perfect choice. With that track record, they obviously know what they are doing.
Great reaction! This song is one of my favorites. So glad you waited to react to it. Your surprise at hearing the switch ups in the voices was great. Tim can sing in a beautiful higher tenor voice along with Austin & Rob. And Chance can hit the lower bass notes when needed. And Adam did a fabulous job as always with his vocal percussion. This song is sung by a woman Cam, so they sung it in a higher key to match the original.
@@KindergartenTeacherReacts For kicks sometime you should listen to the original by Cam. I had never heard of her before I became familiar with Home Free's version but I looked it up out of curiosity. It's pretty great as well. And, fun fact, HF did in the same key she did it.
I believe it’s pre-lockdown, because Tim had shorter hair after that. For more of Tim’s upper range, he has an album on his own channel called Pieces of Me, a doo-wop album.

I agree with your comments about Austin. Yes, they'll find a replacement, but his voice, his high notes, and the friendship they formed. It will be hard to match or even come close.
The guys chose to sing this in its original key as sung by Cam, a female country singer. Just proves their lack of having a female in the group is no detriment--they just let their profundo BASS handle it! 🤣 LOVE the versatility of our amazingly talented fellas!! 🥰. (The addition of Chance and his lower range to the group has freed Tim up to showcase his amazing 5-octave range a lot more!) Every member of Home Free could absolutely be a solo ⭐ star ⭐ but their harmonies together are MAGIC!! ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️ #HomeFree
Cam did the original in 2015 and HF did this cover in 2017 and it has always remained in my top 5 of HF videos even with their expanding catalog of music. Their cover of Boys To Men, End of the Road, featuring Rob and Austin will probably be the one to even surpass this. Rob shows his soulfulness like you have never seen and is quite stunning.
@@KindergartenTeacherReacts They have so many good songs it's hard to pick a favorite. The Stargazer Lilies series is excellent too. Austin did an awesome job with those 3 songs. When it first started, everyone was talking and looking forward to the next song to come out. Believe me, there was a lot of us speculating about a possible marriage proposal at the end. But, they kept it private and got married on the sly, it was a couple weeks before I found out they had in fact gotten married.
I love the fact that Home Free covered this song!! It’s such a blatant in your face look what we can do video!! And yes Adam chance can sing as low & as high as Tim! Oh this is Home Frees way of surprising their fans! Listen to their collaboration with Don McLean singing “American pie”! Also listen to chance singing. “Wayfaring Stranger”. with the Hound & the Fox! Also listen to chance singing can’t outrun you with home free!! Nice reaction… And yes Home Free continually keeps surprising their fans!!
Oh hon, thats nothing! If you want high, listen to some of Tims solo work (Why Do Fools Fall In Love ...it has a puppy in it ❤) or his work with Austin (My Maria) in Austin's backyard. And that bass -- its all Chance. 😊
That's crazy, he is insanely good. I did do my Maria, that's one of my favorites. John used to send that to me all the time whenever we were dating .. because my middle name is Marie. And that's what he calls me lol.
Tim has a 5-octave range and Chance has a 4-octave range. This is so very awesome. Of course, Home Free does everything! They always put their twist on it. They don't do covers they do upgrades. Love your reaction!♥
That was Tim in the beginning This video is before the pandemic he cut his his hair during the pandemic 😊 They just released a new video on Friday called Jump Right In (Zac Brown cover ) really really fun video also Adam Chance also released a new video on Friday called Mrs Potters Lullaby ( Counting Crows cover)
They recorded this about 6 years ago. We Home Fries love that jaw drop reaction the first-time people realize how high Tim can go and how low Chance can go. This is a cover of the song sung first by an artist called Cam...and in the same key as she sung it in. Both Tim and Chance have very wide ranges and love to surprise people with what they can do. I think you will love "Helplessly Hoping" and Tim's solo of "I can't help falling in love with you". Have a great evening and I hope you feel better soon.
Great reaction to hearing Tim's top range. You may now go listen to his solo of "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay" (part of his doo wop album). Yes, this is a good song, but I can't recall if you have done "In the Blood" or "Go Rest High on That Mountain" which I think are even better. Chance was a bass in his previous group. Personally, I would vote for "My Church" and "Do You Hear What I Hear" as a couple of their very best songs.
This is the song that hooked me on home free, absolutely love it, this is one of my favorites. You should check out, can't out run you,, chance is lead, hillbilly bone is my other favorite
Home Free will be fine. We survived when Chris Ruff(Adam's brother & co-founder) left HF to do other stuff. That's when Chance came aboard. They have a plan, so don't worry.
Tim singing high and Chance singing low is why one has to wait for this song. Mayday is a cover of a song by Cam. The boys sing it in the original register (Cam is a soprano, I believe, maybe a mezzo). It is a bit older but after Chris Rupp left and Adam Chance joined the group. How Great Thou Art was the first video release after Chance joined. Brothers in Arms is impressive for them imitating a church pipe organ. Also, Ain't Goin' Down ('til the sun comes up) on Facebook is just as impressive for breath control and Rupp's no-,monica skills. If you just want to bop out, it's Listen to the Music (or a close second is Can't Stop the Feeling).
Thanks for continuing to react to Home Free! I don't know if you would say these are better but how about reacting to Listen To the Music, Crazy, & Land of the Free! They have a new one they just put out called Jump Right In. They are all great!!
Here are a couple of others that will stun you. Perhaps their most creative arrangement (by Adam Rupp) of "Do You Hear What I Hear" and the gorgeous, highlighted voice of Chance in his arrangement of "I Can't Outrun Her". Enjoy.
Best song or favorite song? My top 3 favorites are “Mayday”, “My Church” and “I Can’t Outrun You”. Best song? Could be “Mayday”. Could be “Helplessly Hoping”. Hard to say.
Yep, Home Free threw us a curve ball, or, more likely, a switch up pitch! You had the perfect reaction! This is one of my favorites. I would recommend watching Cam sing it because it has a cool video. (But, personally, I thought HF sang it better.) HF has many other "wow" songs eg Brothers In Arms, How Great Thou Art, Do You Hear What I Hear. And that's just barely scraping the very top of the barrel. It's really hard to find a bad HF song.
This is the old switcheroo. Tim singing in the tenor range (told you he had 5 octave range) and Chance singing the bass. Chance was a bass before he joined HF so he’s capable. Tim can sing really high. There’s a cute song called Snowglobe that Tim wrote where he sings pretty high. This is a good one! Tim used to have long hair but cut it during Covid. 😍

: ) Remember a few wks ago (When A Man Loves A Woman), the comments/replies? This is the reason (and the song mentioned). We all knew Tim could go high and seen/witnessed it ......... but up till this release, not sustained nor at lead. --- And NOW what you witnessed and know, with Chance -- several songs are hard to pick "the deep" because of Chance! --- Reason why I said what I did!!!! : ) ....... And you'll learn even more!!! How fun is that .......... "Snow Globe" Anyone??? Be Safe

This was released in late 2017. Austin has joked that Tim could take over his place. When Austin was really sick during a Christmas tour a couple years ago Tim did have to take over some of Austin's parts. Fortunately, they had Chance to carry the bass. For many of us, yes, the biggest fear is not that they cant find someone to replace Austin's vocals - there are plenty of great singers, but that finding a right match in personality will much harder. But I have faith in their ability to know who is right/wrong for them.
This is not a HF original. It was written and recorded by female country vocalist Cam (Cameron Marvel Ochs). Listen to her original ( ruclips.net/video/eRrCMEXPjWo/видео.html ) and you'll discover that HF did this in exactly the same key -- so that's basso profondo Tim taking the alto solo! Chance was the bass in his previous group...and would be an excellent baritone/bass in any other group.
This is my first look at your channel, apparently you didn't know that Tim is a 5 octave singer and Adam Chance a 4 octave singer? My introduction to Home Free was Man Of Constant Sorrow, but I've heard Tim's higher tenor range before Mayday. Please check out Come Go With Me and Can't Help Falling In Love With You ( where Tim is all over the different octaves) Also check out Halo by Voice Play and all of them are great as is Home Free. Geoff Castellucci of Voice Play is their bass, but he is insane like Tim Foust so please check out: 16 Tons, House Of The Rising Sun, Ain't No Sunshine, Misty Mountains, Tim Foust and Peter Hollens do a version of Misty Mountains, too. Austin Brown sings Bring Him Home from Les Miserable my favorite musical. I know I'm giving you a lot to react to, but my favorite tenor is David Phelps. When you react to David Phelps please listen and watch David Phelps' Most High And Resonate Notes on RUclips, plus Agnus Dei (a duet with his daughter), Ave Maria, No More Night, End Of The Beginning, O Holy Night. Thank you for your consideration.
Chance was the bass in the previous group he sang with. His range is almost as wide as Tim's. Austin leaving the group has probably been in the works longer than we're aware of and he's not leaving until fall. Hopefully they've had time to find ang mesh with someone new to take his place by then
So, building on what @DrPaul-xf4no said, with Chance having a 4 octave range, and Tim having a 5 octave range, you literally have 2 singers who can both sing bass, can both sing baritone, can both sing tenor, and can switch it off between the beat on any given verse...
Keep in mind that Adam Rupp is the only original member of the group still performing with them and the group has been around for over 20 years. Even though Austin leaving the group may indeed change them a bit, I'm sure that they'll find someone just as good, simply different.
You have a very high tenor voice. For u u might want to learn to lower it for authority purposes. All love. Great music. Bob seger is great. Peter Frampton is finally getting in the rock and roll hall of fame.
@@KindergartenTeacherReacts children and animals listen to people with lower tones as more authority. That's why men can have more of an impact. You deal with people everyday, I must have noticed you have a higher tenor. It was just a suggestion for u. No disrespect.
😢My biggest fear is that they don't get the best replacement for Austin. I think it should be another guy, nothing against a female singer joining the group, but they have always been an all male group, and I hope they continue that because imop a male singing high tenor is more difficult and takes more talent to do so and imop Peter hollens would be a perfect replacement.
The whole bass verse was Chance... He has a 4 octave vocal range. Tim has a 5 octave vocal range. Chance was the bass singer in the group he was in before home free.. 😊❤ that group was called Street Corner Symphony.
Helplessly Hoping. Another stunner.
Austin & Rob - Guys we need three tenors to do this right
Tim - I've got you fam, Chance you have bass
Chance - Cool, cool, cool
Adam - Ba-dum-tiss
HAHAHAHA BEST COMMENT EVER.
Helplessly Hoping, Brothers in Arms and How Great Thou Art.
The artist Cam was the first to record this, Home Free recorded it in 2018. If you want to hear more of Tim's higher range, check out his doo wop solos, like "Will You Still Love me Tomorrow/Stay" and "Why Do Fools Fall in Love".
She will hurt her jaw when she watches those 😂
You're right! This is an excellent example of five talented men singing and beatboxing their best!
I have full faith in the guys finding a new high tenor. If you think about it, Tim, Rob, Austin and Chance were all "replacements" for previous members and each time, they have selected the perfect choice. With that track record, they obviously know what they are doing.

Foust's range extends from A0 (absurdly low) to A5 (ridiculously high). BTW, Brown's replacement performed with HF before Brown,
While the vocal swaps and flexes on this song are indeed impressive, you can't overlook that Adam absolutely kills it on percussion.

This was a cover originally done by Cam, the guys ,Tim,Rob and Austin are all in Cam's key.
Great reaction!
Chance was the bass in the previous group he sang with. His range is almost as wide as Tim's.
Austin leaving the group has probably been in the works longer than we're aware of and he's not leaving until fall. Hopefully they've had time to find ang mesh with someone new to take his place by then
7:35 Oh god! You cut Chance at the exact moment he is going to blow your mind.
I know. Don't hate me haha
#HomeFree ❤❤
Need to watch "Helplessly Hoping"
Have you listened to Helplessly Hoping? That’s my favorite by them.
So, building on what @DrPaul-xf4no said, with Chance having a 4 octave range, and Tim having a 5 octave range, you literally have 2 singers who can both sing bass, can both sing baritone, can both sing tenor, and can switch it off between the beat on any given verse...
yup...this came out (like one of the other people posting said.)..6 years ago!
I'm literally obsessed with this one! It's AMAZING 🤩
Keep in mind that Adam Rupp is the only original member of the group still performing with them and the group has been around for over 20 years. Even though Austin leaving the group may indeed change them a bit, I'm sure that they'll find someone just as good, simply different.
Love... Ring of fire...with and without Avi
check out Tim's solo stuff to see more of his high range
In the Blood, Helplessly Hoping

Boys to Men End of the Road cover
Just discovered you, I am in Huntington WV home of Marshall U, what is your connection?
My brother-in-law went to Marshall.
You have a very high tenor voice. For u u might want to learn to lower it for authority purposes. All love. Great music. Bob seger is great. Peter Frampton is finally getting in the rock and roll hall of fame.
Lower my voice? For authority purposes? What's that even mean lol.
I think it should be another guy, nothing against a female singer joining the group, but they have always been an all male group, and I hope they continue that because imop a male singing high tenor is more difficult and takes more talent to do so and imop Peter hollens would be a perfect replacement.
end of the road
Butts remix.
Do you hear what I hear
Delta dawn
A favorite doesn't have to be absolute. I got many favorites. Try: Hopelessly Hoping
