Don't you just love the versatility? Give a listen to "Helplessly Hoping", (a Crosby, Stills and Nash song), if you like harmony. No beatboxer there; he joins the harmony. Also check some of the other's voices.....Rob in "End of the Road".....Austin (high tenor) in "When a Man Loves a Woman".....Chance (low man in this song) in "Cover Me Up".....and Tim in "Brothers in Arms", a Dire Straits song. The Ruppster (beatboxer) is just plain phenomenal. He actually Did an electric guitar in "Ain't Going Down". Harmonica til the end, and then the guitar wails.
Excellent choices. I also like Yours & Some girls do from Chance & Everybody walking this Land from Tim. Love me Like That & When you walk in are also from Austin. Colder Weather & Cross that Bridge feature Rob. Helplessly & How great thou art are amazing for the harmonies & no beatboxing as Adam sings too. Ah yes, Adam's angelic two liners, in "How great thou art", are georgeous. Their great skills in percussion, can be seen in plenty videos, but especially in the live video, "9-5 beatbox breakdown" live . They are all extremly talented, and make absolutly georgeous music together and as solo artists. Both Tim, Austin, Chance & Chris, have their own channels, where they put up their solo stuff. Tim realeased a solo album, not long ago, "Pieces of me", a 50's doo-wap album. Austin's own song "Earn it", are a absolut blast. Chance has multiple songs/ ballads, that are soo... soothing. That baritone, yum yum. Chris Rupp (original founder of the band), also has his own channel, with a range of lovley songs. There are multiple live videos of Adam Rupp's percussion solo. It doesn't matter if they sing a cover, or their own material, they never fail to impress, both with their vocals, harmonies, percussion and videos. They can sing right in to your soul, or leve you ROTFL.
Their recent cover of Dire Strait's Brother In Arms is simply of the greatest a cappella cover I have ever heard, so I would suggest reacting to this one.
They call themselves Home Free Vocal Band. I just write HF and I think you will soon become a Home Fry. We never know what to expect with a new release. You have four leads, five tenors and two bases, so anything is possible. They do write their own (very good) music and do music and other hobbies on their own channels as well. My favourite HF song is DO YOU HEAR WHAT I HEAR. I listen to it once for the group effort, but usually end up watching it five more times to concentrate on each member. It's also the song where I heard Austin beatbox for the first time. You'll soon find out that they can all beatbox, harmonize and do percussion and their video's are usually as entertaining as their vocal performance. DO...HEAR was done before Chance (beard singing base here) joined the band. Their production team (with Darren Rust, producer) really came through for us during lockdown and starting with Quarantine, we had brilliant HF friday releases recorded at their homes. Enjoy.
This song is one of my favorites. We usually ask reactors to wait to react to this song till they are familiar with the individual members. Then they are surprised at hearing the switch ups in the voices. Tim who is known for his bass can sing in a beautiful higher tenor voice along with Austin & Rob. And Chance can hit the lower bass notes when needed. Adam did a fabulous job as always with his vocal percussion. The original song is sung by a woman Cam, so they sung it in a higher key to match the original range.
Home Free is definitely not the usual acapella band: 1 - they are officially a "country band" but they do practically anything while leaning more towards country. 2 - everyone takes lead who suits the song best (except Adam Rupp, the beatboxer, who sings very rarely. He is a tenor). 3 - they all have wide ranges (especially Tim Foust from deepest bass up to a tenor) which leads to more versatility. 4 - the arrangements are done mostly by the "unofficial 6th member" their producer Darren Rust now, due to not having time for it but Tim, and Chris Rupp (founder and former member) and his brother Adam (beatboxer) do arrange songs, but did it more so in the past. 5 - Both Tim Foust (bass) and Austin Brown (high tenor) are songwriters. 6 - All of them are born comedians and entertainers. You never know what the next song will bring, but you always can count it will be great.
They are singing "Mayday" in the same key as Cam in the original song. It is always suggested listening to this song after becoming very family with their work. These boys are amazing!
Sometimes they do their own arrangements. Sometimes they ask Geoff from Voiceplay do it. HF, Pentatonix and VP are always jumping into each other's videos and helping out. HF is so flexible. You've just started to see their talent. They can all beat box and do in their 9 to 5 stage performance. They all trade lead based on who sounds best for that song. They love their fans and are seriously good funny guys.
You should hear Tim sing Will You Love Me Tomorrow/Stay. He covers Frankie Valli by singing all the parts of the song himself and uses all of his 5 octave range. Just incredible. Also check out Misty Mountains with Peter Hollins.
Most of the HF's arranging is done by HF or their producer Darren Rust. Notable exception is Dire Straits' Brothers in Arms, which was arranged by the Finnish a capella group Club For Five. (A definite must-hear song sung by HF.)
@@DeerlyMusical2 I'm too lazy to look it up, too, but I'm thinking that's there are 2 that Geoff arranged, both done when Chris was still with HF. I just didn't want to mess up the facts.
Great reaction! I think you will soon officially become a Home Fry! You are correct - the first singer (Tim Foust) normally sings bass and I've seen comments that he has a 5 octive range. I've also seen comments that when the group decides to do a song or cover, they all decide on whose voice matches it best and that person sings the lead. They are an extremely talented group of individuals. Adam Rupp (beat boxer) has several YT video excerpts from concerts that are amazing examples of his skills.
You should do How Great Thou Art next, Adam Rupp the beatboxer has a short solo in that, but sings harmony throughout without beatboxing. It is one of their most beautiful songs with a video that is gorgeous to match.
In my whole life I have never favored a single band or singer. But for a good year now, I can't get away from these talented guys. Home Free - these are five extraordinary talents with fantastic voices. Tim has a vocal range of 5 octaves, in my eyes one of the best singers out there right now. And Adam the beatboxer is world class, a sound machine on two legs LOL. If you want to hear more from both of them I recommend for Tim Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow from his Doo Wop album and for Adam the latest song from Home Free Ain't Going Down (Til the Sun Comes up).

Please listen to Helplessly Hoping from Home Free. These guys are so fun to watch live, never a dull moment. They keep you entertained with their talent and humor.
I know that Tim and Austin write songs. In fact one of Tim's jobs before he became a singer was to write songs, sing them on the demo and try to sell them to singers. They kept asking him why he didn't record them? He didn't think he was good enough!
Tim definitely can sing like this because he has a 5+ octive range. You might want to check out some of Tim's solo videos. He's amazing. As are his bandmates.
Adam Rupp, the beatboxer, has a drum solo out there - fantastic! They change their style to fit the songs they do, always something going on! Pop, country, ballads, you name it... and they are often funny! Tim Foust, the bass, has a 5 octave range - you'd love his new d00-wop album!

Home Free does not have a lead singer. The beatboxer will do harmony, but does not sing lead. He has a solo in HOW GREAT THOU ART. I am here for Adam Rupp's DRUM SOLO. I hope you get the red checked shirt link. Done in 2015 it is my favourite, because it gives you the basics and the crowd is very involved.
These guys are crazy wonderful. First time I heard Tim sing was "My Maria" and I had no idea Home Free as a group existed. Was I shocked when I heard Tim's speaking voice after all of those super clear high notes. What is also great is how they all join in on the rhytms when one beat boxer just isn't enough. Adam Rupp has a couple of fantastic "drum solo" videos. Check those out. Hands down their "Butts Medley" is the most amazing Mashup of songs I've ever heard. The arrangements and transitions are phenomenal. I'm born and raised in Tennessee, yet country music has never been my thing. But everything these guys do is simply amazing and I just don't get tired of them. They also have an infectious way of simply brightening your day.
Great reaction! Confusion to acceptance, gotta love it! They're one of the BEST groups out there, they do EVERYTHING! Anything they do is gold! They can take a song that I don't really like, and turn it into one of my favorites! They're one of the best rabbit-holes you'll ever go down!
Thank You for reacting to MAYDY I loved it! Their Talent speaks for itself and exposure lets more people enjoy it! You REALLY what to laugh and see just how Talented they are "BUTS MEDLEY" is a must! A mushed up song coving R&B, RAP, ROCK and COUNTEY. Of course it's all about "BUTTS"!
You mentioned that you would like to see them on stage. Having just experienced that myself, I highly recommend it. Every note you hear on these videos is right there
You have caught on to what Home Free has to offer quicker than any reactor i have seen. I am truly impressed with your reactions. I love everything thing HF does, even though i am not a fan of country. They always put their own spin on everything. It also doesn't hurt that they are all such eye candy. My sight and sound are both satisfied after a HF video. Anyway, going to sub and looking forward to more Home Free from you.
Home Free is like a box of chocolates! You never know what you're going to get but whatever it is is perfection! This is my favorite of their cover songs (except for How Great Thou Art) not because of the lyrics but due to their production & the amazingly FULL sound! We usually ask the reactors to do several of their songs BEFORE they do this one so they know the guys' names & the normal parts they sing in the group but you did a pretty good job seeing the changes after one previous song. This is the only a cappella group I listen to because they're so unique, always surprising, humble, the most talented & goofiest! 😊
Your reaction is great ! Lmao ! Omg ! Welcome to the homefree rabbit hole ! Lol.! These guys are nothing more than super talents ! All I can say is be prepared to have your head and mind blown ! I can take a number of covers and sujest to you but as a musician myself helplessly hoping is probably the most difficult cover they do and they do it extremely well !
Yep Tim the super bass in this group has a 5-octave range so he can sing high and super low Mariana trench-type bass. Home Free is very versatile, it's different every time That's why I love them, and all of them can sing too.
Yes, Home Free is a 5 man vocal group that has two basses, at least 3 baritones, 5 tenors and 1 beatboxer. Plus they write songs and either make their own arrangements or has their producer (a great acapella singer in his own right) Darren Rust do their arrangements. There have been a few I can think of that they didn't arrange ("Elvira" was arranged by Geoff Castelluci and "Butt's Medley" was arranged by Layne of Voiceplay, both being acpaella artists as well and friends.) Plus their live shows have humor in them as they interact with the audience. They do tend to sound different in each song they do. They can be as country as they want or not in their sound, depending on the song. This one they sang in the same key as the original artist, a female signer by the name of Cam. Adam, the beatboxer, does not sing often and when he does it is usually background. He has a lovely voice but doesn't feel as comfortable singing. You can spot it in a few videos but he does sing a short solo bit in "How Great Thou Art" He does do a solo in every live show and he is incorporating a bit more singing in that now. (There are recent ones with him messing with a live looper on stage and creating a complete "song" with it.) For fun, you should look at "Sea Shanty Medley" where you get to hear them trade off lead vocals and listen to the amazing beatboxing. Truthfully, it would be difficult to pick a bad one to look at. If you want to see a wide variety of what they can do style wise but in just one song "Butts Medley" is the one to go with. It is hilarious and meant for fun but they switch between country, rap, pop and rock seamlessly.
If you want to hear him go crazy with 2 harmonica solos, the you need to listen to them do Garth Brook's Aint going down till the sun comes up. He and they go wild, fast moving mouthful
I love when Adam Rupp sings! You can really hear him and How Great Thou Art. And if you have not seen any of his drum solos live you must he's not only a beatboxer he's a vocal percussionist!
They are fabulous. Those voices! the harmonies! And Then what blows my mind completely 🤯 at some point in each song. It dawns on me that there are no instruments!
For another bass singer with an amazing range, you should check out Voiceplay, and their bass, Geoff Castellucci (he also does some stuff on his own). Their cover of "Oogie Boogie's Song" really shows off his range.
Several of these guys (Tim and Chance both I think) are excellect at arrangements. So yeah, they do their own. I think the production work is done by someone else, but I don't doubt the guys chip in on that too. Cam should be rightly proud of this song and these guys treatment of it.
Thank you for reviewing HF. They are very versatile. I looked through the comments. A lot of good recommendations. Please review their collaboration on 'American Pie'.
Acapella has changed from what so many believe it to be. Home Free is awesome. There is a other group Voice Play these two are far above any others as to breaki g the mold.

Home Free does a Garth Brooks Classic that features Adam Rupp's talents. Ain't Goin Down (Till the Sun Comes Up). This needs to be your next reaction. It can be found on their Facebook page, released about 3 weeks ago.
Adams sings in Hopelessly Hoping (Crosby Stills & Nash), How Great Thou Art, Auld Lang Syne, & a couple others I can't think of right now. He doesn't ever have a lead per say but if you are familiar with the band you can point out his voice. In How Great Thou Art there's a very short part where you can hear his voice clearer.
If you'd like to hear Adam, the beatboxer, try "how great thou art", "my country tis of thee", "Helplessly Hoping", "auld Lang syne", "quarantine"... He has a beautiful tenor voice. Actually, all 5 are tenors, with Chance being baritone, sometimes bass, Tim the usual bass. These guys are incredible!! Welcome to the Fryer! 🍟😉🥰🥰
When Adam Chance comes in you can hear his low voice. He was sometimes below Tim Foust in "Man of Constant Sorrow" while being the didgerydoo throughout the song. He opened as a tenor in "Helplessly Hoping" and was joined in perfect tenor unison by Rob Lundgren. There's no beatbox in "Helplessly Hoping" so Adam Rupp is singing baritone down low with Tim Foust. They are all amazingly talented!!

Home Free does not have a lead singer. The beatboxer will do harmony, but does not sing lead. He has a solo in HOW GREAT THOU ART. I am here for Adam Rupp's DRUM SOLO. I hope you get the red checked shirt link. Done in 2015 it is my favourite, because it gives you the basics and the crowd is very involved.
yep best one
They do it them self and they all change up with the composition. If you have time listen to their original songs that is also beuatifull
They do almost all the arrangements themselves , and they just figure out who sounds better on each part
Tim Foust has a 5 octave range and has solo stuff out as well.
Yep Tim the super bass in this group has a 5-octave range so he can sing high and super low Mariana trench-type bass. Home Free is very versatile, it's different every time That's why I love them, and all of them can sing too.
😁 I just love these guys!!! 😉 Talented, Genuine, and Fun! 👍
I love this song! This is my favorite group - Home Free!!
You would like their concerts. They are not just singers but all-around entertainers. Lots of funny bits.
If you want to hear more of the beat boxer, he has a video drum solo
so long dixy and forever and ever would be great songs for you. nice reaction, thanks.
"Helplessly Hoping" is another example of their amazing talent.
Great reaction/review! Home Free doesn't have a bad performance.
Loved your reaction 🔥☺️
If you want to hear him go crazy with 2 harmonica solos, the you need to listen to them do Garth Brook's Aint going down till the sun comes up. He and they go wild, fast moving mouthful
Love your reaction!
I love when Adam Rupp sings! You can really hear him and How Great Thou Art. And if you have not seen any of his drum solos live you must he's not only a beatboxer he's a vocal percussionist!
I think both of their versions of Ring of Fire would tickle your Tim Foust fancy!
He has a 5 octive range
His name is Tim Foust
The beat boxer, Adam Rupp, has a video of him doing a drum/beatbox solo at a live Home Free concert.
To hear a bit of Adam, beatboxer, How Great Thou Are, vocals or Ring Of Fire for superb beatboxing 😉🔥
They are fabulous. Those voices! the harmonies!
And Then what blows my mind completely 🤯 at some point in each song. It dawns on me that there are no instruments!
The beatboxer is Adam Rupp. He is insanely good. You can check his pretty long “drum solo” on youtube. He is fantastic.
Tim's F1 bass would vibrate you out of your seat. lol That was a great reaction, Anastasia.
"Brothers In Arms" will completely kill your theory of Bass not taking the lead! 😁
I have watched over 100 of their videos and everyone is different and amazing.
They write their own 90/ per cent of the time. Adam the beatboxer very seldom sings. He has a lovely tenor when he does. Check out How Great Thou Arth
Adam Rupp is the beatboxer and he sings a short lead in the middle of "How Great Thou Art".
You can't go wrong with any Home Free song. There are so many to choose from so it's hard to pick just one song.
One of my favorite songs and videos.
If u like them. 2 songs I recommend of theirs is "Mississippi Delta", and "when a man loves a woman". They r my all time favorite songs they have.
Thank you for reviewing HF. They are very versatile. I looked through the comments. A lot of good recommendations. Please review their collaboration on 'American Pie'.
“Helplessly Hoping” and “How Great Thou Art” are beautiful songs and can hear the beat boxer.
Acapella has changed from what so many believe it to be.
Home Free is awesome. There is a other group Voice Play these two are far above any others as to breaki g the mold.
They did a collaboration with Don McLean for the 50th anniversary of his classic "American Pie" The beatboxing is pretty impressive in that.
To find out Tim Fousts full range check out him doing "Come go with me/Stay". I think you might like it?
Loved both of your HF reactions so far so let’s get to some others that I think will also amaze you. Check out In The Middle, Fulsom Prison Blues, Ring Of Fire, Some Girls Do, Can’t Stop The Feeling & DEFINITELY do The Butts Remix. HF fans are known as Home Fries & I promise we’re ready to make this journey with you so let’s get to it !! I would NEVER steer you wrong & have NEVER lied to you before so trust me on this.
" Helplessly Hoping " and " How Great Thou Art " he sings.
Home Free does a Garth Brooks Classic that features Adam Rupp's talents. Ain't Goin Down (Till the Sun Comes Up). This needs to be your next reaction. It can be found on their Facebook page, released about 3 weeks ago.
The beatboxer gets a little lead in their version of How Great Thou Art.
Helplessly Hoping is an amazing song where Adam Rupp (beatboxer) sings.
