Chicks are lower on the pecking order. They have to wait until the Hens are settled. If not, the littles are pecked.
It's a great idea to play with, but I find that I have way too many things going on in my life and this chicken powered door is a Rube Goldberg machine. You'll eventually have chickens stuck outside (or inside) and if I were going away on 10 day's of vacation, I wouldn't feel confident that my chickens weren't stuck in their coop for 8 of those days and landed up dying of thirst or hunger.
Yes, that's why I switched when I could afford a new door.
So all the things I warned you about in that first video. Too much time to set up, too much maintenance, unsecure/unreliable and just too much effort. Glad those three cert letters I sent came back, or else I would have sent you a setup.
Oh and there is no link to the old video. You should link this one in that video with a card so people can see this video next. For transparency and honesty.
