I managed to beat this test chamber in a way that seems intended, you have to turn off the breaker and place the cube on the faith plate, place your portals, then turn the power back on
@@axiomunk2833 After you do what he mentioned, and the power is back on, the cube should now be on the side of the button. You can then shoot a portal back to where the faith plate is and then one on the slanted wall next to the power switch and walk through it. Once on the side with the plate, shoot that same color portal you just came out of on the wall that the faith plate launches you at. This will place you up by the exit door. Then simply walk through the barrier and put the cube on the button and you're done.
but you still can throw the cube up in this wall, i've passed this chamber right now doing this after almost 2 hours trying and the first video that I clicked is cheesing like me in another update hahahahahhahahahaha (feeling extremelly dumb now that i've found the way is putting the cube with the energy turned off)
I beat it the same way you did. But I definitely knew that was cheese so I decided to look up a video of the intended way and this was the first thing that popped up. I'm glad we're not the only ones who think with portals and beat the system.
This was the way I beat the chamber I knew something was off so I had to search the intended way to beat it. Portal really makes you think out of the books.
I beat it by bunny hopping and placing my second portal on the tilted platform behind the glass panel right before the cube went through my first portal
I was just in the in-game browser trying to figure out how to beat the chamber literally right after tossing up through the portals, I'm glad I wasn't the only one who didn't know what to do
You can also just stand on the edge of the glass where the exit is. Therefore you take the cube and bring it to the corner and from there you can place the cube down so it lies on the other side.
I know. There's another way to cheese it, though. While holding the cube when launching towards the exit, strafe and turn right and you can get the cube to land on the side with the button. It's a little finicky.
i set up a portal on the wall you used and another one behind and above the faith plate, then i took the cube and threw it through the portal and onto the faith plate. then, while it was falling, i placed a portal on the target and another on the panel in the sewage water
What I did (after hours) was this: You leave the cube in front of the jumping catapult, I put the portal in front of the catapult and the other on the wall in front of the water plate, with the momentum of the catapult entering through You will reach the front portal with the necessary momentum to jump to the water plate, you immediately put the portal to return through the one that will send you to the catapult, you take the cube that you had previously left there, you will return due to the momentum of the catapult and You will reach the red button with the cube. Never use the power switch.
Damn I did it in another different way then what everyones saying lol. I landed on the cube button area and picked up the cube there. placed it near the shattered glass to get on top of it and place a portal on top of the entrance door, and then one on the target with the jumppad sends you. This would create a perfect loop where the cube is perpetually jumping. Then I just go and place a portal so the cube lands on the button, and then you do the basic jumppad portal to the exit.

Yup, this is how I did it as well, definitely the intended way
They updated the game now you can't use the portals to get the cube up there

I forgot the intended solution after my first playthrough and I can't believe this video popped up here.
I don't really like this chamber. The rest have seemed well thought out, but this one just felt bad.

i just threw the cube straight up on the ledge. took me a couple tries but i couldnt find any other way ;D
