Being a teen in new jersey in the early 2000s .. This was the coolest stuff ever. Still fun to listen to every now and then. Wish I could revisit those times for a night!
This song. Growing up and living in New Jersey and hating this band at first (I don’t know why) but this song changed my mind then got me addicted. The video is an indirect homage to my childhood, my teens and my early adulthood to my current life. All the walks of life I’ve come across at shows, driving in cars and meeting that I have become friends with, enemies with or never heard from again. This entire album is an autobiography I never got to write because it wasn’t about me, but it was damn close. Saves the Day IS New Jersey. Move over Bruce.
It's really hard to overstate how significant saves the day was in new jersey in the early 2000s in the most amazing way. EVERYONE - punks, jocks, hardcore kids, nerds - was into this album. It was a unifier. Really very special.
For guys. If you weren’t a scene girl that fit the mold or willing to suck a dick it was not fun. The scene was frat boy and clique as fuck. The tristate bitches remember.
Makes me feel so old. Junior year of college, had this album on repeat while playing drinking games before going out. Not a bad track on the entire album. They don’t make em like they used to.
Me and a bunch of my buddies where there crazy I found this so long after the making of this video. The brown car is my buddies they asked for it lol😂 crazy how young we all where!! Awesome to relive that crazy day thanks, much love from upstate NY!!
When hardcore for me was hard, fast & short then this came out. Still listening to the album every now and then. Def one of the most memorable record. Their first 3 albums are such a reminder of a much simpler time in my life.

I was looking up some live shows of them and the singer did the same movements and dancing every time they performed this song back in the day, haha I love it.
New pop punk is good. But absolutely nothing comes close to anything from this band and this era of pop punk. Late 90s and early 2000's were an incredible time for pop punk
Saw these guys as an opening act in 2001 or so, then saw them again about a year ago. I couldn't believe how many of the songs i knew! I guess this band has a way of sticking with you.

Haha. I was a freshman in highschool when I had this album. 2000. It was an alright time. This album played so many times. But now I'm 34 and definitely more into metal and post-hardcore. But this definitely brings nostalgia.
For some reason I loved this band when I was 13. I then hated them and hate every song that sounds like them. I'm just here for nostalgia 😂 For everyone saying they were big in New Jersey: I was listening to them on 2008 in Argentina.
I can hear some of Sum-41, New Found Glory and Starting Line in this song! I know they were before those 3, but you can see how this song influenced their respective music.

I agree 100%! Both amazing influential bands. Perhaps I Suppose by Rufio is such a great album. Another band in that era that doesn’t get enough credit is Mest.
This song is almost as old as me. I'm 25, freshly out of uni and unemployed, drunk on two bottles of wine and just made out with a girl i have a massive crush on and I might get drafted to war I don't wanna fight and see no point in. My life is a total mess, but I'm happy to hear this song again and fantasize about how bright and happy life could be and can be someday. I guess I'm happy right now and I hope everyone is too.
Where were you in 97? The greatest time in youth culture for the disenfranchised... we took pride in our failure to fit but still did not give a fuck! Todays youth have no idea ... clueless...
It was a time and a place, and it was spoon fed to us, and it wasn’t all that special. Old millennials and our 10s and 10s of pop punk favorites. The only one I return to 20 years later.
I wonder if that guy at the front of the crowd knew how big Saves The Day was going to get and how millions of people would probably notice him more than Chris Conley
Everyone mentioning Finn referring to them on his PRMBA channel BUT I think people that continued to be into similar styles of pop punk (albeit I guess you would consider it 4th wave of pop punk) may know that there's a pretty good pop punk band called "You Vandal".... Which is obviously a direct influence from earlier era STD. And is also one of STD's best songs. I'd rate it up there w/ songs like Shoulder To The Wheel and At Your Funeral etc. Although I think Shoulder will always be my favorite. It's the song that made me get into these guys in the first place. Just sucks that Chris grew up and started playing shit that was definitely more indie/alternative than punk and/or emo and isn't really my cup of tea but hey - at least we have their first 3 albums and as a result another amazing song called "Please God Kill Me" by the band You Vandal. It was off one their early [if not their first album] called "Fuck Yeah"... Dunno if they're still around or not but I know that album or EP or whatever it was SLAPS. Especially the song PGKM. Its a very sime bass driven emo-esque sounding pop punk song but for anyone that enjoys old STD - You Vandal is def worth checking out! You're welcome fuckers 🤘🤘🤘🖤
