It’s incredible how the 777 has made Dubai come alive lol. I flew out of there Friday morning and literally every stand was full with the 777. It took me over an hour to get off the ground lol!
Time acceleration looks super fun with custom views from passenger seats too. Like watching flight from a supersonic plane. Especially if there are broken clouds bellow. Looks just amazing.
I saw a B77W video yesterday where the captain was talking about how they expect to lose GPS when passing over Turkey on the way to the UAE. I had no idea that GPS jamming and spoofing was so bad over there but it makes sense. Now that would make an interesting navigation tutorial.
You don't have to live with TA/RA. Just do the config you want and save panel state as new one, it will have running fmc at startup but it can be edited out in the file directly with notepad, but at least it will have 2000 and stby. You can change state of Any instrument like that
Great video! Would love if you did a longer video/tutorial on trimming the 777. Just read the section on trimming in the documentation (in the fly by wire section of 'Introduction') and 'blip' trimming. I think a video explaining it and demonstrating it practically would be very useful! :)
The business class in the pmdg 777 emirates looks way better than the actual 2-3-2 business cabin on the real EK B77W. Emirates can take some design notes.
Thanks, a nice flight to observe and see the ini Nairobi. 320SimPilot (now aka 789 SImpilot) states that LOC must be grabbed before APP selected. You could see that the plane would get LOC before GS but using the LOC button is a Boeing thing!?!
Maybe it's a rule at his company, but there would be nothing in the official Boeing books that would say it is necessary to use LOC before GS. There is even a company option to prevent GS capture before LOC capture in the approach mode logic. Always remember: The 777 is not a 787.
Hi, I'll do FCU-GRU soon. Thought about BCN as well, but the flight time and routing of FCO was just nicer with the route leading over the Sahara and the sun setting just prior to arrival. Will be up in the next couple of days!
You don't have to live with the panel states. Just set your own and save it and make it the default. That's what I did in the 737. Transponder off and set to 2000. Instead of the 1234 they always use for some reason. And isn't it dangerous to have the AP Disconnect alert to be an airline option? Giving people a situation where they are not audibly warned that the AP has disconnected doesn't feel safe to me.
hi very nice and detailed video! can I ask you what software are you using for the weather? or in general what addons you have in the sim like textures accusim etc? the weather was very accurate! thanks
Thanks again for this awesome video! I was trying to get a look at your trim on cruise but couldn’t 😂 I’m still confused on what is the normal trim stab for cruise?
Hey by any chance chance, can you tell inibuilds to put their Pratt & Whitney PW1100G Engines on the current inibuilds A320neo because that is the only engine they’re missing on the inibuilds A320neo.
Wow what an nice Video. I watched your series on the B777 and i learned a lot. Today i was very hyped to perform my first longhaul from KPAE to LSZH. About 7h into the flight my Simulator began to frees constantly and the plane wasnt flyable anymore. Did something similar also happened to you? And does someone has an FIX Idea for the problem? Kind Regards
This may be a little too much to ask but can you maybe do KMCO-OMDB on emirates? 😅 I go on this route every summer and would be nice to see you recreate it.
Sounds like a nice route indeed! I'll think about it. Got two more coming up in the coming days now, thereafter probably a few tutorials, but I'll check what I can do next.
Dear Emmanuel, thanks for all the great videos, I have learned a lot from you! One question - how do you get the current AIRAC for B77W? I have obviously donloaded one in the Navigraph Hub, but it doesn't seem to be reflected in the FMC.
Hi. If you look up "navigraph pmdg 777 fix" a post from navigraph should pop up. It involves deleting some files to make the nav data work. It is a temporary fix until pmdg patches it.
Would you not enter data into the TO Ref page 2? I see several people skipping that, but the manuals seemed to recommend entering the data. Just curious why you chose to skip it
Does the auto throttle have to be on during landing, or is it pilot discretion, airline discretion? I get better landings in when I'm in control of the throttle, it can reduce the thrust a little too early in some situations !
Why do you need to set the fuel in the 3rd fmc if you already selected to download the fuel and plan from the sim brief flight plan in the captains fmc?
He uplinked the fuel from the flight plan at first but you can hear him say that he wants to take a little more fuel than that which he enters into there.
I have a couple of questions if I may…1) Where can I find the manual? 2) Is the ‘Data Link Ready’ at 6Left on the FMC Comm page of the FMC meant to be working, mine doesn’t appear to. 3)My database is out of date, but I have seen RUclips vids with ‘in date’ ones visible. I think I uploaded the recent update btw. 🤔 Thanks in advance.
Can you share your sensitivity settings? , i feel like i have to constantly adjust the plane to make it fly stable when hand flying even take off feels like i have to pull hard to lift off
Always use IAS for any limiting speed, like flap speeds, speed restrictions, etc. TAS and GS are important to understand your aircrafts energy, which will be a lot higher in a situation like this, compared to the same at sea level.
the 777-300er and I think the freighter with GE90 can’t start both engines at once I think the reasons are 1- the engines would be too powerful for the tug 2 because they are so big and powerful it can damage the systems with a dual engine start but don’t know if that’s 100% correct
I guess since it's a pneumatic start it wouldn't have enought pressure to start both engines at once. 787 can do this because it's starters are eletric powered
If I learned one basic rule while doing real flying and simulated flying at the same time, then it is never to try and adapt your callouts. It *will* go wrong in the real plane.
This is really unfortunate PMDG go for the most realism they can with this plane and somehow manage to over look a huge a very realistic feature. Realistic load times for the pax bagge and fuel just like in the 737. Such a dumb decision to not include realistic load times for this plane.

there's an event at Dubai today on vatsim

PS: What is the difference between Seatbelts "ON" and "AUTO"?
How did you construct your etops scenario? Cause usually simbrief would tell you "etops not required for this route"
Amazing!
After you are stabilised during take off, instead of pressing the TOGA 'screw', is in not the same to just push your throttle full forward?
It's not, you'd kill your engines doing that.

Nope you don’t - in the 777 it’s automatically tuned, but best to check the RAD page to double check the correct frequency

Hi Emi, looks like you have a lot of passion for the 777. Would you stop flying the A330 to fly the 777, if you had the choice?
I'd prefer to stay on the Airbus. It's just a more comfy workplace as there's more space for the pilots.
How did you get ETOPS on this route? I’m flying the same route and simbrief said ETOPS is not required for this route.
You should do your ETOPS planning manually. There's a tab for that in simBrief on the planning page. The default ETOPS planning is not very good.
