@@A330Driver well don't forgot those people who is litteraly searching for all of those tutorial so even if it's lost in the algorythm we are gonna watch it haha ^^ And a playlist of all of the tutorial make's it easier for us
Thank you very much for all fantastic tutorials. Extremely insightful, interesting and full of details impossible to find elsewhere. I really appreciate all hard work you put into them for us! Looking forward for more and for the ebook!
Wow one hour full of info. Will have to watch this a few times more. Many thanks for your dedication to inform us in such a detailed manner! Really appreciated
Incredible content, as always. Thank you so much for all the videos and all the knowledge you are sharing every day. It's something really special. Thank you
One of the best explanations of modern oceanic procedures I've come across. Great job! Things have definitely changed a lot (for the better) since the advent of CPDLC.
A great video, very detailed and complicated:). One thing though, when you said after you sent the message " that no one will answer today because we are offline" what does it mean? Do I have to be connected with VATSIM or something else to communicate the cpldc ? I have the hoppie code but I never get an answer from no one , what do I miss (I'm not flying VATSIM) Thank you for your efforts !!
I have not watched the video yet but coming from the title, if this is a video about proper communications for flying online and how to manage waypoints, Thank you! I only know of one video by British Avgeek demonstrating oceanic flying procedures for vatsim
You talk about not putting in any additional waypoints into the Legs page, but how do I do RTA to ETOPS Entry and Exit point when they are just coordinates? I cannot enter them into ETA unless they are in the Legs page.
Hey Emanuel great topics you have mentioned in the video, enjoyed it. Im going to ask you if entering true heading mode is necessary or not. I believe some other youtuber real life pilot mentioned that you must enable true heading reference when flying oceanic and i havent seen that on the video.
That's a company thing. A certain airline group whom I'll not mention in here in order not to disclose anything about that youtuber insists on using TRUE north on atlantic crossings. Most others don't. It's a company thing.
Thx for making this video I will watch and study carefully once my brain recovers and I’ve walked 6 miles to pet shop in 30C heat 😭😼. The PROG cheat was the question I added in cruise video 😮
Thank you for the video :) well lil frustrated I fight since yesterday with PMDG 777 freeze, always when I click something in mcdu I will report that but I guess pmdg will not find this issue cause since almost a year this problem exsist, maybe cause the tablet idk..
Usually it helps to click the buttons slowly, especially while an uplink is loading. Don't rape them like most people probably raped their F5 buttons on releaseday!
The one thing I’m a bit confused about is the logon codes. I was reading on the pmdg forums and manuals that PMDG uses their own acars, they don’t use hoppie but only for a brief connection? I did not understand that well. So for the logon code, it is always the atc facility center callsign, even when flying domestic? I really want to get involved in using acars but was always a little confusing to me, not to mention in the early days of hoppie not many people were using it in the US
hey, thanks for the video. Just on question, I think you can answer. I planned a flight to BIKF from EDDF. Simbrief planned me a route, which crosses Shanwick airspace for a short time between ORTAV and PODAR. Do I need to request OCL from Shanwick or from Iceland (which is also oceanic airspace)?
Hi, in the real world you would probably have gotten a different route in first place. But as soon as you across Shanwick, you need to go through the full oceanic crossing procedure.
Just to be clear: Oceanic clearence is only needed if you fly the published north atlantic or pacific tracks? If you just fly over the ocean outside of the tracks you don't need one, correct?
18:05 for the speed entry granted by ATC - especially when it’s different to what was requested - should you also check this against fuel burn? What if they give you a higher speed that you can’t accept due to fuel reasons?
@@A330Driver ok, so if you CAN accept it’s based on what you’ve already calculated (taking into account fuel). But if you CAN’T accept, and need to negotiate via voice, would this require you to, amongst other things, check fuel? And what if no voice is available? Assuming then use CPDLC?
Little bit confused about you trying to get that 30w point into the box. Understand pmdg doesnt support it.. But how is it supposed to work? Also why not use the comm reminders feature?
4th video today! You really put a lot of effort into this channel, and I think I speak for everyone when I say that I thoroughly enjoy your videos.
I really want to get the tutorials all out now! However, if I released them all at once, they'd simply get lost in the youtube algorythm.

Thorough explanation. Thanks Emi, a great video

Thank you so much! Indeed, crossing the ocean has never been easier!
Wow! There is a lot to digest in this one!
That's exactly what i said in my mind 5 mins into the vid lol
Think I’ll stick to flying over land lol. Great video everyday is a learning day
haha, no worries, once you did it a few times it becomes second nature! And you'll simply love the silence if you're on selcal watch!

There's actually much more in it than just communications - but of course those are also part of the vid.

Click slowly as Emi said. Also mind that RSR has just mentioned patch 1 is about to come adressing many of the issues

what settings do you recommend for long haul flights?
When would you give Gander Radio (in this example) your SELCAL id? Thanks for the great video!
You don't need to tell them your selcal, it's part of the flight plan and they can read it from there.
@@A330Driveryou don’t need to tune your selcal in the plane do you? Simply as long as you logon with it in Vatsim on vpilot

Hi nice video.
I had a question. Is the EE bay under the cockpit modelled?
Thanks
Hi, it is not visually modelled.
@@A330Driver ok. thanks for your reply. You think they’ll model it?
❤❤❤
Just to be clear: Oceanic clearence is only needed if you fly the published north atlantic or pacific tracks? If you just fly over the ocean outside of the tracks you don't need one, correct?
Hi, you need an oceanic clearance for entry into *any* oceanic airspace, regardless if you fly a random track or on the OTS.
18:05 for the speed entry granted by ATC - especially when it’s different to what was requested - should you also check this against fuel burn? What if they give you a higher speed that you can’t accept due to fuel reasons?
If you can not accept that clearance you need to make voice contact and negotiate a new clearance.

I tried this on a 772 IRL and got “not in database”. Where is this documented?
The rest of the tutorial series will be behind the paywall..?
I usually release videos as early access for channel members, yes. They will gradually become available for everyone.
👍👍👍
Hasn’t this changed since the RCL system was implemented?
No, it hasn't.
It changed in April...by end year the entire NATHLA will be like KZNY.
Will pmdg release a 777-200 ?
Yes, the 77F as well
They will do the Freighter, 200ER and 200LR. Not the base -200 though.
You would think these days there would be some radar equipment placed across the Atlantic
The only problem with that: Where would you place it? On ships? That'd be pretty expensive.
@@A330Driver maybe an invention we can think of and become millionaires lol
Very bad video, Emanuel. Next time prepare better.
