Anyone else think of that old Jurassic Park arcade rail shooter game at Chuck E Cheeses from the early 90s? Looks like this game would work better as a rail shooter in honor of that. Also, glad to be supporting you Jared as long as you keep up the good work! Glad I listened to Jimmy Hapa and Super Derek's recommendations on other youtubers :D
I think you're right, this game would have been better if it fully commited to the rail shooter thing, or the fps thing. Not both. Also, big thanks for the support. Jimmy and Derek are the fucking best!
We had the same thought about making a comment like this. Yes! I have played that game at a theme park, some random guy played the game with me even though I said no. I am still mad at that guy for ruining my no hit with high score streak.
I've read something about that but I can't confirm its veracity. Apparently, Regina's face model used the badly written contract she had with Capcom to claim that portraying Regina was using her image and she had to be paid for every game she was featured. Since the issue wasn't resolved yet Capcom was forced to shelve Regina and not even mention her or they'd have to pay said model. As I said, there's no proof of it, but it could explain why she vanished from Capcom's products for so long despite being a very popular character.
The aesthetic of this game is one of my favorite. The UI + HUD is beautiful and the combination of futuristic high-tech and natural environments are memorable as well.
This game is kinda like Time Crisis with Dinosaurs on a rail shooter but this one looks hella fun. I don't remember this game at all growing up. I enjoy the dino crisis retrospective so far, keep it up man. Looking forward to the next video Jared.

It's really too bad Capcom couldn't just make traditional fps controls and instead tried something "experimental". It's like they're trying to reinvent the wheel when the wheels we already have work just fine. But yeah, l was thinking the same thing you mentioned - what even IS Dino Crisis at this point? I actually had no idea that this was a Dino Crisis based game. I still have the game and I thought it was really fun at the time. The best way to play was the coop mode where one player controlled the movement with a controller and another player used the gun-con to shoot. Me and a few friends really liked playing that way.
I remember really wanting to play this one when I was younger. If I had that explanation from the intro that the game gave I might have actually understood what was going on at the end of 2!
Man those claims are no joke. I got hit with three over music in a game. So I've decided to halt my let's plays for a bit and just get some good reviews out there.
Very well done, i played this game when it came out. I was disappointed at first as I was expecting an action shooter game, but I did enjoy it for what it was.
Back at it once again, nice work Jared! I feel the same with this as the Dead Aim spinoff in RE, just a serviceable light gun shooter with a cheap plot and janky controls (no surprise, both belong to the Gun Survivor series) though I beat both with relative ease (does this support mouse?) Anyways, now it's time to cover the unholy grail, the franchise killer, also known as Dino Crisis 3, can't wait to see how that goes for ya.
That's the first thing i thought to check, and no sadly no mouse support. At least not on the Japanese release. Yeah, I'm writing the script for the 3rd game right now. I think this is going to be a good one.
Even with that ridiculous plot, this game still seems better than Dino Crisis 3 lol. I love your restrospective videos, I'd really love seeing a Silent Hill one and maybe a Fatal Frame retrospective too.
Glad you like em! I will definitely cover the SH series. Easily one of my favorite franchises of all time. As for Fatal Frame, I'm not as interested in those games, but to be honest, I only ever played the first one, and not for that long. FYI OSSC can output raw 480i, and most modern tvs will perform some sort of field combination deinterlacing which looks very similar to XRGB mini, with added benefit of OSSC superior analog to digital conversion.
This is true, but then you miss out on the sharp upscaling both units can provide. I have thought about using the ossc for spitting out a clean digital image to the framemeister, so I don't have to worry about the noise it can introduce, but that seems pretty expensive just to use it as a analog to digital converter.
@@AvalancheReviews True, true, I wish that someone made digital only budget upscaler to pair with OSSC. If I had to choose one I would go with OSSC though, because unlike framemeister it doesn't introduce any posterization and noise that ruin the image on emissive displays like PDP and OLED.
I seen this at a local retro game store for thirteen dollars and held it in my hands wondering if I should get it. I got resident evil 2 remake instead but I wanna go back and see if it's still there
If you don't mind puzzles and survival then the first is fantastic, if you prefer action and constant shooting which is much easier then go for it instead. Or both! But stay away from DC3! 🤮
I cannot be subjective to say _Dino Stalker_ is worse in storytelling or voice-over material. Objectively, it's the less impacting of its series. But is leagues above other arcade platforms previ of it, e.g., Jurassic Park III or CarnEvil. For a home-arcade release, it's decent where the execution leads itself existentially. But it's shucks if the gameplay ain't gospel.
Plot wise, I need a drink. No completely terrible but i need a drink. Gameplay wise, it looks like a fun play after fiddling with the controls a bit....
What i don't get is that the ending of DC2 implied that Regina saved Dylan and Paula by traveling baxk in time to deliver the Third energy data and preventing the incident from happening.

sorry if someone else asked this, but didn't you try the mouse option for this game or did you forget to check that(as we've learned on the other PS2 shooters)?
I didn't even know that Dino Stalker's plot was tied with "Dino Crisis 2". I steered clear of it back in the day as I was never a fan of the Gun Survivor spin-offs - even though I only tried the original once (I wasn't impressed), I did spend a few pounds on GS 2 in an arcade in London back in 2002 (not very fun) and I never played "Dead Aim", which might be a cardinal sin for a self-proclaimed die-hard Resident Evil fan.
As convoluted and crazy as the dino crisis storyline is, it's less than confusing as resident evil 6's story. The story was everywhere and they didn't even bother attempting to explain why Wesker was in Edonia. Dino Crisis just went "fuck it just use time manipulation" and it kinda makes sense for Dono Crisis 3 now.
@@AvalancheReviews yeah true It would be funny if Wesker had beer goggles though and you find out this is why he hated Chris is because he was supposed to be his wingman that night.🤣 Imagine the scenario: Wesker wakes up next to Jake's mother: Ahhh! Chris! Why didn't you stop me?!? She said she might be pregnant!! Chris: I was drunk too. I didn't see you leave out. Plus, you told me if you pick up a "foxy lady", not to stop you. Hell, what does she look like? (Wesker shows him a picture) Chris: Damn! Wesker: I know. Chris:Look. Let's just leave Edonia and hopefully nothing happens. Wesker: Fine. (They leave Edonia, Wesker gets phone call 5 months later) Wesker: Chris!!!!! (Now to resident evil 5) Jill tells Chris: You know he's still pissed about Edonia. Chris: FOR FUCK'S SAKE!!!
Since you have a disk maybe try emulation on a computer. I feel like PCSX2 has a mode for tricking games into thinking your mouse is a light gun. Trust me, it does not go unappreciated.
I really like your videos and I can recommend to you Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare for the PS1 or 2. (Although I think the PS1 Soundtrack is better) It's a great survival Horror game and has everything in it, that we Love.

I knew this game exists but I had no idea it's actually part of the Dino Crisis deries, lol.
I'm not surprised. They didn't do a lot to advertise it as part of the series.
sorry if someone else asked this, but didn't you try the mouse option for this game or did you forget to check that(as we've learned on the other PS2 shooters)?
I found that just sitting back and not thinking about it, was the best way to enjoy both 6 and Dino Stalker's stories.
@@AvalancheReviews yeah true
It would be funny if Wesker had beer goggles though and you find out this is why he hated Chris is because he was supposed to be his wingman that night.🤣
Imagine the scenario:
Wesker wakes up next to Jake's mother: Ahhh! Chris! Why didn't you stop me?!? She said she might be pregnant!!
Chris: I was drunk too. I didn't see you leave out. Plus, you told me if you pick up a "foxy lady", not to stop you. Hell, what does she look like?
(Wesker shows him a picture)
Chris: Damn!
Wesker: I know.
Chris:Look. Let's just leave Edonia and hopefully nothing happens.
Wesker: Fine.
(They leave Edonia, Wesker gets phone call 5 months later)
Wesker: Chris!!!!!
(Now to resident evil 5)
Jill tells Chris: You know he's still pissed about Edonia.
Chris: FOR FUCK'S SAKE!!!
great video! great channel! keep up, man!
I had no idea this game even existed
4:10 Spoilers?
Oh, no. Not for games two decades old. The horror.
Since you have a disk maybe try emulation on a computer. I feel like PCSX2 has a mode for tricking games into thinking your mouse is a light gun.
Playstation Move and Wiimote controllers can also be setup with PC emulators if your willing to do the research online.
I actually have a copy that I never got around to trying this with. maybe I should go find it and give it a shot.
I really wish I could support creators like you but college here in USA has left me pretty dry on spare cash. Regardless though you make great videos and I hope you grow and get to continue.
I know how rough that can be. I went back to college 2 years ago to finish my BA (only 21 credits left currently). I'm paying out of pocket so I can only afford 3 classes per semester. That shit is no joke! Most expensive thing you can do right now, is go to college. Honestly though, your view and comments go a long way in supporting me as well. Trust me, it does not go unappreciated.
Quick question: can this game be played with a mouse like Dead Aim?
does mouse and keyboard work like they did in RE: dead aim?
What the hell happened ?? May some person got jealous for youre video bro . but anyway your commentary in general is truly amazing bro
I really like your videos and I can recommend to you Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare for the PS1 or 2. (Although I think the PS1 Soundtrack is better) It's a great survival Horror game and has everything in it, that we Love.
Aparently this is the 3rd biohazard gun survivor for the people from japan.
I would guess the reason this was made is because a lot of people would buy it thinking they are getting the Dino Crisis on a next gen console.
I wanted to know how it was with a lightgun tho... heard it was an okay lightgun game
Dino Stalker: My Daughter is Also My Daughter's Mom
... Lol that was in poor taste. What kind of freak would look at those characters like that in a time travel scenario...
...
That sums it up perfectly!
Yay it's ring of red!......oh wait I was wrong. But soon I won't be
Hope for a re2remake style Dino Crisis remake!!!. Just a solid Dino Crisis remake would be enough for me. I wasn't big on the rest after.
