At 1st i thought better to be eaten, then i thought about the being alive part, now i can't decide if it was me what i would prefer. How much pain are we talking with the slow death? Lions have a tendency to eat rivals from the hind legs to prolong the suffering, can you imagine some animal eating your legs before getting to the vital organs.

    What I dont understand is the fact that they are endangered and nothing was done to assist that dog in those months before he died. I know there are groups in that area that specialize in wounded animals. Its one thing to let nature take its course but another to wait 2 or so months while that dog suffers.. plenty of time to dart him, treat him while he is darted, put a tracker on him and release him. So much for conservation efforts

    "Has to be comforted by his siblings" is probably the cringiest personification I've ever heard. That lion doesn't feel stupid for the dog getting away: it's a lion.

    • @JT-km6th
      @JT-km6th 4 года назад

      What really happened was he chased the competition away, came back and lions greet each other how they always do. Then he probably went to sleep.

      @Pharaoh wild dogs aren't prey, they are competition. So killing or chasing them away is a win.

    The camera team is to blame. They provided cover for the lions and deceived the dogs!

    • @alanfoster6589
      @alanfoster6589 4 года назад

      I don't think so. The dogs came up on the lions outside where the cars were parked, not from behind. The land rovers were not blocking the dogs' view ahead...they were just preoccupied with the impala. Happens all the time.

    • @alfi5037
      @alfi5037 4 года назад +1

      @@alanfoster6589 I've seen that, bat it's common knowledge that animals feel tourist cars are safe. that was fatal to the dogs..

    It's funny that the Lions didn't immediately rip the dogs to shreds, if it were a Hyena they wouldn't hesitate.

    • @PeaceDweller
      @PeaceDweller 4 года назад

      Lions mainly see the Dogs as pests, they are not overly concerned with them whereas Hyenas they consider fierce rivals who need to be dealt with properly.

      123 321 No they’re not genetically the same, they are in two completely different genera. AWDs belong to the genus lycaon as apposed to domestic dogs which belong to canis. You can compare two completely different animals

      Take a domestic dog out into lion country for a day and if they survive I bet they'll respect domestic cats. Either that or they'll have a strong hatred and kill all the domestic cats it sees.
