With a name like Sparrowhawk you'd think it catches smaller birds like sparrows and finches or blackbirds and starlings so seeing it take a racing pigeon is a bit shocking. Thats a lot of meat for one bird of prey.
I didn’t know a sparrow hawk was that big and I knew it would go after other things quite aggressively being called a hawk (I think it could come under a kind of raptor)
Iv had a sparrow hawk feeding n hunting in my back garden last couple of years its killed afew pigeons an iv noticed it only eats the head for some reason ..
