    It shouldn't be more than 6 rooms. It gets annoying with more people.

    A black male Leon Demetric Pasteure who’s in the Atlanta, East Atlanta, Decatur area was allowed to stalk and harass another Padmate who rejected him. There was even video recording of threats, police reports, photos or abuse, obsession and aggression and he wasn’t removed until the female Padmate obtained a protection order. He not only continued to harass her but threatened her life. The police were called to the home so many times and they still didn’t remove him. I’d love for this to be investigated to get his name out there. He had been previously accused of SA/ assault and robbery a full year before he moved into the Padsplit home.

    Padsplit is only a symptom of a bigger problem. GOVERNMENT must tackle affordable housing and implement laws like no 3x rent requirement. No credit or background checks. No rent hikes. Housing is a necessity and a right to all.

    • @DUANEYAISER
      @DUANEYAISER 3 месяца назад +4

      I'd even say that PadSplit's not even a symptom, but an imperfect solution to the underlying problem that the government has not yet addressed.

      @Ben-eh2bq - Amen. The 3x rent requirement needs to be outlawed under the Fair Housing Act. 2x rent might be understandable. But 3x is taking it too far when 1BR apartments start at $900. Everybody is going to be homeless in another 10 years. What needs to be "banned" are policies that block regular people from having a place to stay.

    2:15 this is why it’s important for people to understand HOW to the platform works. You go through the same verifications as traditional housing. Including a background check and evictions. It excludes credit score and typical income requirements of 2 or 3xs the rent.
    Saying this to say, not all criminals have a record. And just like any other place of residence, you never know who you’re moving in at the end of the day. Let’s not ruin this for the people who genuinely need this.

    I am going to chime in on my experience with Padsplit in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I've been in 4 different properties. The four properties I was at had either 4 or 5 rooms. 5 rooms and 6 rooms total seems to be by far the most prevalent. A background check is done and I have never felt unsafe around any of my "Padmates". Usually the occupancy is at about 80 percent and at least one or two people don't have a car. Trash has not been an issue and the same laws apply to the Padsplit properties as others. Noise has not been an issue. I like the fact they are furnished and flexible.

    That’s not Padsplit, that’s a nasty landlord.
    Only take in what still makes your home look good. Trash should be kept clean and the insides.
    Those are simply slum lords.
    Owners with access to their own homes instead of renting the entire unit should use those extra funds to keep the place cleaner and sanitized.
    Location, location, location.
    Don’t take these affordable places away from people in need. Fine the owners directly.

    Listen I stay in a mice infested padsplit. I have emails and screenshots of texting padsplit and host about and nothing is done. I vented to a neighbor to vent and he said ALL these padsplits are listed as residential property. Go to the tax office and report the correct number of bedroom units and it will change there tax code and put them out of business. I stay in a 8 unit property. If u google my address it say 3 bedroom house. They do that to stop avoid paying high taxes. Just report them!!!!!!!!!!

      I know of 3 of these landlords in the charlotte market and all are black, not white, all own multiple properties and 1 of them owns near 100 rooms to rent. All do a background check and search court records for any pending issues. None of the homes are located where there is an HOA. They also make sure that only one of the two genders is represented in each home. This is a great option for people.
