It's good, nothing close to being the greatest movie of all time though. I just thought that David thewlis as the gang leader was such a bad casting choice. He doesn't look intimidating at all, he looks goofy and weak. The second issue was Malcom Mcdowell as the older Gangster. He is funny in his commentary but his acting and fake London accent is just so bad in this film. He's way over the top. Not to mention that he looks nothing like Paul Bettany.
@@lavelle2911 I think David Thewils is a good choice. He's supposed to look smarter and more charismatic than your average gangster. Makes it more believable that he could get away with being 'the butcher of mayfair'. He's able to use his looks and charms to get his own way. Its why he's at the top. He's also not rash or messy and I think that's reflected in his looks. I also think it makes his turn away from that life more believable. If he looked like your typical beat up, slightly ugly gangster, his story wouldn't seem right. But each to their own.
This was recommended to me. I don't know why. Not only that, despite how many comments there are talking about this movie, there's not a single one giving it's name or even the slightest bit of context to what I just watched. Everybody's just calling it "This movie", what movie's that?
He only copped the wishbone section which is risen about 150mm from the bottom of the Chassis and with the drum brakes being a further 50mm gave him some breathing space
Legend has it the train is still passing overhead.
Very underrated film. Best British gangster movie
It was shite
Best scenes are with Freddie mays..these is my favourite here..
Wow. When they work together, Lupin and Vision really bring out the worst in eachother.
@Documentary Detective it's just a joke. Grow up.
@Documentary Detective oh, do pipe down. You are impressing nobody.
Creativity is always a plus
"Nice. Very nice. Creative".
Crea-ive!! Minus the T!
Lupin omfg
How's he going to get the money now?
@@dancarm5428 The message was more important, this will spead all over the estate in no time. And they will all pay!

One of the all time great movies
Damn good, under-rated, kinda unknown movie at least in the States.
It's just an impossible scene to dislike!
This clip never gets old
Got this gem on dvd

Me too 🙋🏻♀️
I bought in 2000 on dvd. Lost it. Haven't seen it in over a decade😐

Right next to brick lane ⚒️👍
I see they built those totalitarian apartment buildings in England too ! : (
I think that was Elephant and Castle in South London.
@@Mink-yu8nu Aye, lucky they didn't bump into Michael Caine. LOL
Not with that staircase though, surely?
Just another brick in't wall

Here's the location for this scene: Fleet Street Hill, London
Down brick lane I believe

It's called Gangster Number One
Not a bad group gangsters well mannered.
I guess lifts weren't invented in London in the 60s
Nostalgia
0:23 & 0:29 😂🤣
Are parts of this film supposed to have elements of black comedy. “Boys let’s get this motor back on the road”
Not really, it's just true to life. People in real life make witty remarks etc, especially brits.
Yes, it does.
I'm having a..

What the fuck was the director thinking changing main characters half way through.
That's my only "concern with this great film."
Destiny's suffrage etc. Ditty

A hook up. Hockey.. Dirthy follow hockey..walking down.. Manrelle Street.. My ears..
2:10 not a good idea to shout "ahhhhh" as you run towards someone to stab them, they might hear you.
Bert's Apple Crumble!
I agree mate..
Hello mate.. Bee and honey..
How’s he going to get his money now he’s stuck under a black cab ? not very well thought out that move
They probably know they won’t be getting it anyway. But others will hear about what they did, and will make sure they pay up!
Only if he was paying the points its a bad move. Otherwise its a lesson to be learned
They can take what they want from him and keep on hurting him till he pays back
Good film, I thought Paul Bettany was outstanding and David Thewlis miscast.
What did they actually do at 2:22?
The taxi was on jacks, they rocked it off them and dropped on the bloke underneath
alisonsh23 so basically they crushed him to death
