The Sixers "back up plan" apparently is to offer a HUGE pay-day to OG Anunoby to try to pry him away from the New York Knicks. Thoughts?

Honestly these elite role players are going to be pricey in today’s NBA. Teams going to 1 or 2 completely ball dominant guys, but you can’t have success unless the other guys can defend, shoot, and attack mismatches. When it comes to 3 and D guys he’s probably the best in the league at that role. Assuming a guy like KCP will get paid around 25 million, OG for 40 isn’t crazy.
Please 🙏🏾 god let PG, OG and Lebron all resign with their respective team ASAP!!
I think the Sixers are doing that to force the Knicks to pay him more than they want so they will threaten to get him & force the Knicks to match. The Knicks didn’t give up what they gave up to watch OG go to another team.

Eastwood, taking a risk on a 26 year old, capable offensive player with DPOY potential is worth a minor overpay. Somewhere in that 35-40 million range annually is reasonable and would leave us with 9-14 million in free cap then we’d still have MLE to make more margins signings. Daryl mentioned in the press conference we are not handicapping ourselves for just a player; doubt he reaches over that price. We also have picks to send out as well considering OG would be brought on with cap only.

We can overpay for OG because someone will trade for that contract at 1:1 value. Therefore, we are preserving assets.

30 mill for OG would be plenty. Guy misses 25 games a year. He had an opportunity for a bigger offensive role in Toronto, which he wanted and could not produce.

Brunson is a similar player to Tyrese Maxey, Imagine adding Joel Embiid to that!? The sixers would be almost undefeated if all of those guys were healthy?!
