The thing about the nail painting is that the only other NBA player I can think of having done stuff like that before was some guy named Dennis Rodman. He was a player who Philly would've embraced on their team. We should already know better than to judge a book by its cover on that one. In a sense it's not really new, it's just more openly accepted now while Rodman was getting even more questioning for it in his day. Word on McCain is that he works and plays hard. I also heard that the nail painting thing took on a superstitious element for him after doing it for a game so he just kept on doing it, for whatever that's worth. He's probably just a straight guy who's sort of metro and comfortable with himself like Oubre. Not that a player's sexuality is relevant either. The point is that Oubre did fine here this past season because he played that Philly style of basketball and McCain is reportedly the same way. Just play ball the right way and Philly will embrace you. I'm sure the kid has dealt with this playing at Duke as well. Duke is in North Carolina, they're not known for being that socially progressive down there in the south either and the kid did fine. I think a reasonable expectation for McCain going into this season is something similar to Maxey in his first season. Maxey was also drafted at age 19 and he still had a contributing role for us in his first season before developing into the star he is today. McCain I think can replicate Maxey's rookie season as a rookie and then we'll find out whatever he develops into long term in the long term. I know the draft is considered "weak" this year but I think it's just not very top heavy. I think it has depth in terms of just having lots of players that are good but not great, and whatever great players there are just are flying under the radar now like Giannis in 2013. That draft had Anthony Bennett at the top but there were still quality players throughout the first round and even some hidden star players so I won't discredit McCain as a "player that went #16 in a weak draft." I think McCain can be a solid contributing rotation piece just from his shooting alone as a rookie and from there I won't even put a cap on his ceiling because we've seen the likes of Jalen Brunson and Tyrese Maxey taken late in the first round so you just never know.

Hindsight is 20/20 but this might be what i would have preferred the draft to go - Round 1- draft 6'6 Wing Dalton K (dont know how to spell last name) w/6'9 Wingspan - Round 2- draft 6'5.5 Guard Cam Christie w/6-8 Wingspan- could be a Combo Guard & is a very good shooter - i can accept the McCaine & UCLA pick though - UCLA Guy could be good backup in the future but still is only 6-9 but long withspan- he is a stronger version of Paul Reed in my opinion

I gotta disagree strongly on this and you my guy I feel your sixers passion and I get it but tbh I give morey a A on this draft, Jared was a massive steal he could have been in the top 7 I think he dropped 30 off of like 7 threes in a game, plus he comes from a winning culture college like duke,on top of that we drafted a 6’9 athletic big in the second round with great defense, then morey goes and get a 6’7 undrafted wing that can shoot and slash, I like this direction morey is going we have pieces after embiid is done and let’s be honest that’s pretty soon, the league is going in a new direction bro you need young talent.
Has great on court intangibles, energy, coachable, hard work, confidence. That’s a keeper to me. Develop that, don’t trade it for a mediocre vet.
