Much better, KOC! Previous interviews felt too much like those conducted by scouts or assistant GMs, where players would naturally fall into their rehearsed pre-Draft responses. However, with McCain, the conversation felt more casual, allowing us to see the player's real personality-which is exactly what we want! We don't need to know what players think about the X's and O's of their game, even if it is interesting. We can always watch highlight reels to form our own opinions about their strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. What we need to know isn't necessarily their vision of the game, but their vision of life in general-their personality, humor, passions, empathy, and conversational skills. These details can make the difference between a player who will pursue his career "mechanically" and one who will always strive to become better. The intellect of players is often underrated. If I were a GM, that would be the first thing I looked at. In many cases, we've seen players passed over because they lacked a clear position (like Draymond Green) or a specific skill set, even though their intelligence suggested they would do just fine. That's what I wanted to check for myself in your interview with Jared, and you did a great job of that. Please continue-much love from France. Jared is a locked top 10 pick for me.
Thank you. I agree that some interviews from the first group were too dry. Though, two more to come are better than the two we released. But I think @m7atthew is right that Jared McCain is what makes an interview like this possible. A lot of kids this age just aren't able to communicate the way he does. McCain is an outlier.
@@kevinoconnornba any hint for the next two interviews? I need an updated Matas interview so you can ask him about the confidence he has to call out Richsacher in a 1v1
@@kevinoconnornba Totally agree. I know it has a lot to do with those young guys approach to being interviewed. I was definitely disappointed by my fellow Frenchman Alex Sarr. I can tell the difference between guys like him, Hayes or Ntilikina and players with more developed brains like Batum, Wemby or Fournier. Hopefully, Sarr will follow their footsteps (and not Hayes’…)
The Magic need to draft him, he fits so well! We have AB as tall non scoring PG and Jared could be more of a Jalen Brunson scoring PG, they can be the point guards of the future keeping Jalen Suggs at the 2. Or like Jared mention, combo guard, put him at the 2 and Jalen at the 1.
Couldn’t agree more with Kevin here. Having Trae Young would give the Wolves another great ball handler and shot creator. I feel like Gobert could be used a lot more for lobs (like Gafford and Lively). Unfortunately, Conley was the only one able to dish it for him.
I like you for okc but you gotta stop with the weirdo shit(painting nails). You will definitely be one of the greatest shotters of all time though when you get to the league
Him and Maxey gonna compliment each other so well in the starting lineup
His poise on ball in high school always impressed me, I agree with Jared; he will surprise a lot of people with it if he's given a chance.

Definitely going to be my favorite rookie this year, and was my favorite high school/ college player in the past few years
banger of an interview, both KOC and Jared did really well
Seems like a smart dude
Which is the most underrated quality in a prospect
Yup. Sixerrrr
