I love it sm much because the plot twists r very unpredictable but not so out there that the make no sense and it sound like the author just wanted too trick u lol it also has a little bit of a cute romance (nothing spicy) and the characters r rlly lovable!

@@Jackie76493The book is about a murder that happened 5 years ago when Andie Bell was murdered and her boyfriend, Sal Singh, was acused of killing her and then killed himself (or thats atleast what people in the town believe) before he got questioned. But Pippa whos 17 years old decides to do a project about the case and figure out what really happened because she believes the killer is still out there. During her journey she meets many people who lie and dont fully say the truth about what happened that night she even gets a death threat telling her to stop the investigation.
I really recommend reading it, im still in the process of reading but its a very good murder mystery book and has lots of twists. Hope this helps!

I used to work at a very large retail brand bookstore and they only paid $11 an hour. I took a break from working with them for a contract job. When I came back, I asked for a set number of guaranteed hours or potentially an increase in pay. Since in the time I had been gone I had been diagnosed with epilepsy. They could not guarantee me this, but instead said happily “but our employee discount has gone up to 50%!” Like. That’s not gonna pay my bills or keep me medicated and out of the ER 😞

I thought working at a large indie bookstore was the dream…it was the opposite of that. Full time, minimum wage, you would get fired if you got caught reading or even leaning against the counter (even if the store was empty), no accommodation for most disabled shoppers (owners scoffed at me for learning customer service ASL because “deaf people don’t read”), chasing out people who were using book nooks to do really inappropriate stuff, and HR handled me asking for help with a coworker who was sexually harassing me by making it common knowledge amongst the staff. Meeting the occasional celebrity (it was in a popular ski town in Vermont) was the only benefit. 😬🤷🏻‍♀️

oh gosh i missed working for an old bookstore owned by this kind uncle from my neighbourhood. i remembered going there a lot throughout my childhood cause i love all of his collections of old fictional books, and one day he just came up to me, talking about his favourite book at that moment and asking me if i was ever interested in working there while i was on my break. of course, the pay was bearable for a student like me at that time, just gaining myself some allowance but the vibe and calm atmosphere of the bookstore in the middle of a small neighborhood was the thing that made me fell in love with it (plus all of the books that i could read for free). it's a shame now the old bookstore's closed cause the uncle had moved to another state, living with his son's family. the uncle even gifted me a harddrive before he moved, advising me to work hard for my dream and never losing myself amidst all the battle. i really wish i'll get another chance to meet the uncle again, proudly showing to him how much i've grown and achieved in life.

I once worked at a comic book shop in Long Beach for about 6 months until it was time for me to get a real job. I just kept coming in and after a while I got cool with the GM and he told me someone was leaving and I said I’d take up some hours if he needed the help and boom I was hired. I accepted the gig cus I wanted to learn how to use illustrator and get any tips I could from artists. I learned so much and had a great time. That job helped bring my art to a new level and I’m still making money off it to this day, I’m forever grateful.

This is exactly what it's like working at a bookstore! I loved working at a bookstore. Definitely my to the job I've ever had. The only problem is what it was slow I would get bored because it's not like you can sit and read lol at least not at my bookstore

I had a job working at indigo, I left because the staff where always at each others throats and they seem to get upset with me for not taking sides or talking trash about other coworkers
Plus, they seemed to be apart of a big niche. All of the staff was lgbtq, and as a lesbian it actually made me kind of uncomfortable because my sexuality seemed to be the only thing they saw when they looked at me. It was a really odd atmosphere, I don’t even shop there anymore because working there for a short period of time completely shifted my perspective on that place. Luckily a new bookstore with a much more comfortable and cozy atmosphere opened up Downtown, they also have more books that I’m personally into which is awesome. The lady who owns it is so incredibly nice, and the staff seem really happy, whenever I walk I. There they’re all giggling about something and joking around with each other. I never realized how much I appreciate a genuinely happy staff as a customer until being apart of a really miserable team

I used to work in a library and the funniest part was how I got the job; I literally just walked in one day and started to chat with one of the librarian. I had just started high school so I asked them if they needed staff and she wrote my name and number down. Around four months later they called me up and asked me to come in for a trial day. I was hired within 15 minutes because the only real skill needed was to know the alphabet.
I loved working there; we also had a bunch of local activity days (plays, concerts, children’s plays, internet workshops for non-tech savvy people etc.) where they would always ask us young staffers to help out for extra pay. It was seriously the best part-time job I’ve ever had; I was surrounded by books, paid well and there was absolutely no stress or pressure to live up to some quota or something along those lines.

used to hang out in a local indie bookstore in my home town and ended up making fast friends with the lady who owns it as well as her wife and kids lol. Id come in every day after school and sometimes id just read or do homework, and other times id help out by putting labels on things, cleaning, alphabetizing books. I was happy to do all of that for free because being in the store genuinely made me really happy, and I wanted to help bring that joy to other people too. eventually though, the owner offered me an internship, and I became her first ever intern! I still help out when I go home and have time, and now she even pays me full time wages when she needs me to work a shift. (the intern rate is a few dollars less lol)

I bet it would be nice working at a smaller bookstore business. I worked at a much larger company bookstore and it was not great. The pay was low, absolutely nothing was incentivized (for instance, selling memberships did not have any benefits whatsoever. The membership wasn't even worth it, so it felt like conning customers anyway), and they decided to make everyone a "jack of all trades" when the store wasn't doing well. This meant that everyone had to do everything regardless of their department. People receiving in the back had to do customer service, register, and shelving. This wouldn't be so bad normally, but there was no increase in wages for this decision at all. Basically everyone had "manager" responsibilities without the manager pay. We were also limited to under 30 hours a week so that the company did not have to pay benefits. The discount was nice, but 30% off books doesn't pay rent. Definitely the most toxic place I've worked at. But I'm sure many of these problems wouldn't pop up in a smaller business, and the job itself is interesting enough.

I worked at a bookshop that sold school books, one of about a dozen shops under the same company that also had a website and did click&collect, ie the order was shipped to your closest shop instead of your home. The warehouse was poorly managed so orders took ages and yet came in incomplete, and it was a small shop so when we got busy the place was impassable. I remember noting on at least one occasion that the line stretched down one of our two aisles, up the other, and out the door, up next to the window, for at least the length inside the shop if not more. Plus, we had to cover the books in the shop in front of and at the request of customers, which took So Long. It's kind of annoying that thats what i remember about it, because the job i was actually hired for was evenings and weekends, around my classes, was so much nicer. The shop was pretty quiet a lot of the time so aside from open, close and occasional tidying, i spent a lot of my shifts reading.

I worked at Barnes & Noble for 3 years. The greatest part was the coworkers and the passion you're allowed to have about the job. The worst part was the bad pay, limited hours, and lack of benefits. A great job for first-timers/part-timers/not-breadwinners. Due to the lack of higher management positions, very few people can make a lifetime career of it. Some of my coworkers were even authors themselves. Additionally, corporate has encroached on bookseller territory more by pushing employees to recommend certain books above others to reach daily quotas. Ironically, Good Girl's Guide was one such book. You're also typically categorized as an "expert" in a particular genre or section of the store. For a long time, I was the manga/TTRPG expert who hosted Adventurer's League in the store. When I transferred to a new store with manga fans as the predominant group of employees, I had to use my own money to become an expert on the history book section.
