As a Playstation player, Sea of Thieves has always been that ONE game I wish we had. Everytime I would see a video on it, I just thought it looked like a blast. So when they announced it was coming to the PS5, I had to snag it. And I wasn't disappointed in the beta. The game is just fun! No other way to put it. My brother & I have been rocking the sloop (until we get a crew) and we just went in full speed ahead. Learning the ropes, adventuring and finding out what trouble on the seas we can get into. I hope that Rare continues to support this game for years to come. It is just the kind of online open world multiplayer game that we need to keep alive. Anyway, thanks for the tips! Will be sure to utilize them! See you on the high seas! 🏴☠️
I sword and blunder. With my experience i became a defensive type player. I started pvping once season 8 droped and boarders were a problem. I found myself relying on blunder for defense. I became a close range hitter than using a pistol or of eye of reach. I always regret not having my blunderbuss. Sword is good for getting close for quick damage double gunners could panic or are vulnerable when they miss and its satisfying seeing them eat desperately to survive. People are predictable. They make you chase them up the stairs and then jump down. When i saw the pattern i stop, turn and I'm there waiting when they jump down. I suffered so much, i slent my time in sea of thieves running. Now i got the ghost curse and i win fights in adventure id normally lose. My aim has improved so much. I unintentionally directly hit masts recently. I even beat a trash talking reaper champion in hourglass. I bought fireworks to celebrate. I came so far. Im still rusty when im in combat with players and my confidence needs work cause i never do board attempts cuz im afraid to leave my ship alone. But my ship to ship combat has improved ALOT
You have my respect friend. I learn through necessity and sheer willpower to become an off meta powerhouse in other games. Now I enjoy developing annoyingly frustrating styles to psychologically cripple toxic crews and then eat them one by one. -yours truly a GTA online grinder veteran 😂😅
I like the PS5 controller in the thumbnail because yes, I am a PS5 player who wants to win pvp. Its nice to see how helpful the SOT content creators are being with all the new players coming in!
I've been playing hourglass a lot trying to get my skeleton curse because I've played the game for 2 years but I just never bothered with PVP but now I really enjoy it. I just want to let you know not to let the toxicity get to you cuz it burnt me out of the hourglass. So good luck
What’s your button layout for controller? I found it hard fitting all the shortcuts like food and throwables along with push to talk on the limited real estate of the controller
Been playing for years and still legitimately think the game is more fun without PvP. Really wish there were generous pve servers that didn’t hard nerf xp.
Been playing since xbox release and play in large stints over few months, im garbage at PvP, just cant get the hang of it but im solid with cannons. Win most naval fights, lose all sword fights. Its a blast
I love sea of thieves, I got it on ps5 and I’m already getting crazy looks and called a lair or cheater since I’ve already went and got myself the skeleton curse, now I’m trying to become a pirate legend
Another tip I would add is if you get caught in another player's death spiral DO NOT PANIC. Too many times I've been on crews or seen other crews go into panic mode when they're on the defensive. Hell, I've seen players panic just when there's another player ship coming toward us. Once you panic, the fight is already lost
@@lapizcata6930 Pretty solid guess. I'm also thinking maybe 20 for a light attack. Assuming 60 damage for a throw, I'd say 75-80 for a heavy attack. In the preview, they seemed to suggest that striking from the back with a heavy could do more. 90? 100?
@@Quboldnow hold up a second, I'm pretty sure I played with that guy once, he tried getting me to follow his tiktok XD, but he was pretty decent at the game
“We’re just happy we’re not the only console players anymore” I have seen countless posts and heard Xbox players in voice chat saying their hunting down all the PlayStation players for literally no reason
I 100% disagree with the first tip. Go straight into double gunning on controller, either pistol snipe or blunder snipe. I would tell you blunder snipe mostly because that is easier. I've played controller my whole time on sea of thieves and getting better at double gun right when you get into the game will give you an eaiser time in the long run. Yes you'll miss a lot of shots and yes you'll die a lot but once you get decent enough you'll be better than 70% in like a few weeks. Sacrifice first so that youll have a lot more fun later.
Good advice! My main concern is new players getting discouraged and giving up on SoT. But if a player already knows for certain that they want to stick with this game, then jumping straight into double gunning is a great way to learn! PvP in this game is kinda weird tho (with the eating to heal) for people coming from other fps games. For the average player, it might be best to understand the basics of movement, healing, aiming, and time-to-kill BEFORE full committing to doublegunning
As someone with about 2k hours not much ik but I have learned the more u rage in this game the harder its is and u lose so much more just try to keep your head on straight and keep good vibes even if your winning/losing good bye my fellow sailors ⚓️🏴☠️
i understand the fact that stealing from other players is not toxic i mean like the game is about pirates... but what most players do is they steal from u and then talk massive shit talk. I was playing earlier today and i had literally nothing on my boat the guy killed me and destroyed my boat, talked shit and then camped my mermaid on the island and kept killing me so i couldnt respawn in a new ship
@@copacolondrios1841 no, you wrong. I'm happy, more players to the game, more people to know and to sink 🙂 Acting like you know just sounds like you talking out yo ass
The aim assist on console is horrendous. It literally makes you aim behind players if they’re running. That’s why most console players keep it turned off because it’s so bad, myself included! Until aim assist is fixed, mouse and keyboard players will have their usual advantage over controller
@@captain_squiddy I’ve just seen too many clips of kids snapping on like aimbot with aim assist to be able to think pc has an advantage. But great video and good info

Sword, Blunderbus, Blunder Bombs for medium range, and worms for extra health 👍

Same, I just can’t aim for shit. I can do naval battles, but I simply cannot run sniper or pistol. Sword and blunderbuss forever!

I'm sword/sniper. I may change to sword/knife when it comes out, depending on the damage
My bets are 55 or 60 damage for throw

that snipe at 1:30 tho
Thanks lad
Sniper and pistol is my weapon setup and it works really well for me
It’s consistent as well
