I think they are just joking. It would be interesting if some of the kids in this clip were watching this and replied in the comments as adults, though.
I was in the audience for one of Rickles' appearances: November 14, 1997. My brother and I were seated about five rows back, on the aisle. We were visible in a few shots heading to commercial. If I recall correctly, Dave asked Don how Sinatra was doing. Don said something like, "Do you think Frank cares about you? He's at home shooting blow darts at your picture." Dave and Don had great chemistry. In all, I attended three tapings: Late Night at 30 Rock (Carol Burnett, Cowboy Junkies), the Late Night 10th Anniversary special at Radio City (rehearsal), and Late Show in 1997. Once I got married and had kids, it was harder to make the trip to the city.
Too funny. I love Dave and his hyjinks. I think he’s at his best with kids because they don’t quite know what to make of him. He is clearly enjoying himself!
I adored the Kid Scientists segment. One time a kid had his experiment under a sheet. When the sheet was pulled off there was a microwave. Dave immediately shouted "oh my God, this kid invented the microwave !" The child did not know what was happening, and the audience were beside themselves.
The first time I heard anyone talk about pc culture was from Dave. I was a little girl who snuck late at night to watch his show on my tv. I didn’t know what it meant but his humor started to change. I loved him as a little girl. And I still have a crush on him. Love this imperfect man.
Dave + kids == fun fun fun! Edit: I was going to start time-stamping them for my own reference, but too many! My husband and I did sing 'You are not, you are not, you are not funnnnyyy!' for years, however.
Dave's shows were soooo much fun...went to NBC and the Ed Sullivan Theatre many times....best memories of my life! Met Dave on 53rd St in 1994...he was so very kind!
Stop doing compilations.. do full interviwes and full segments.. This is a guy from israel watching dave since 2007.. I know what I am saying. it ruins good bits. do full parts, not "best of".
The last kid had me dying, "you are not, you are not ...fuuunnnny"!
I'll never forget that kid nor Dave's accompaniment.
@@jonhohensee3258 wonder which prison he's in now
Greatest late night host of all time
Indeed! 💜
ABSOLUTELY!
Absolutely. Quick-witted & not afraid to risk offending a guest.
10x better than sycophants like the 2 Jimmy's & James Corden.
Eeeeeasily! 👍
@@blackphoenix8932 - Agree… especially Fallon.
"Is she constantly interrupting?" "You are". 😂
OMG that baby at 4:04 is ADORABLE!!

Carol Burnett & Cowboy Junkies - two of my favorite things. Lucky you
Dave was the best. Never afraid to be dorky and make fun of himself
Lot of copy cats but only one Letterman.
"You are not funny."
That kid uppercut him....
That kid was t.v GOLD!!!
“Accidents happen” …the hallmark of a murderer 😂😂😂
@3:33 mins Yep, the whole raspy voice, facial expression, sketchy eyes and demeanor of that kid screamed psychopath! 😆
I hope he grew out of it...😐
He’s part of Public Affairs for Israel.
@@newbloomwon Only a Hamas and Hezbollah supporter would say that.
The salt girl, i watched it when it came out and this is the second time that i have been able to see it since then, pure genius!!!

Accidents happen...legend lol
There’s some very lucky adults out there right now saying….‘that’s me’!!😃👍🏾👍🏾
It's weird how Dave could be such a cranky old commuggen but he was so wonderful around kids!
Oh wow... Fun times. We need to see these kids today! A reunion!
Id hope and pray all are doing well.
Hard to say. Id just pray they are.
God i MISS DAVE! GOAT!!! Love live him!!
*Kids are hilarious for no reason lol*
The dude sprayed Dave in the face XD
I sure miss Dave!
Love ya Dave. You're are freaking hilarious
These were always the best stuff. I wouldn't miss the show from the beginning.
Upholstery farm. 😂
Dave is so good with kids ❤
Possibly one of my favorite compilations. I was supposed to get braces, but my parents used the money for a wet bar downstairs. Only Dave.
God I miss him! Seeing him with those kids makes me think of him as the modern day Art Linkletter or Alan Funt from candid camera!
I agree!!!
Miss Dave the best late night talk show host ever

Brilliant.
He's good with kids in a way I didn't really expect. 😁 I don't remember any of these bits here.
LOVED that !!!
Forget bitcoin or Ethereum. This video is digital gold.
Thanks, Dave! So funny.
Classic Dave, lol
Bwahahahaha, lesson learned "accidents happen"
The kid at 3:35 reminds me of young Joey Lawrence. Very witty!
I'm curious to see how these kids are now, as full-grown adults, and listen to their retrospectives.
We need a reunion! 😅
Apparently the “you are not funny” kid died in a car accident. 😔
I hope the salt girl hasn't had health issues by now
I wonder if one of these kids is watching the clip now.
This kids love Dave!
the "accident happen" kid...clearly, he is a convict now...even his voice is masculine, and he is 6 years old
dave loves the kids
The reason I clicked on this video is the kid at the end. True story.
Hey david, can you please upload more regis philbin?
“Accidents happen.” He’s now a public spokesperson for Israel.
Is he that calender guy? Or matthew miller?
Love this! Mr. Wizard was a fun segment/guest too as was K-Mar...the discount magician!

The salt girl clearly wipes most of the salt off of the spoon with her thumb before she puts it in her mouth.

If your era was after Dave you missed out…..
In my humble opinion, the current crop of "comedians" aren't funny. Dave was funny AF!
I also enjoyed salt as a kid. Was weird.
