I love how Dave's, "Ok check we got it, we can do that,. Right. I got that. We can make that happen, okay," response is tacitly saying he respects her wit.
"She's gone already, chief" guy was brought back, in studio, in his car! They had him sitting in his car, on stage, just to say the line again. Wish they would have added that to this clip.

Dave is and always has been the undisputed king of impromptu sarcasm/acerbic wit in my book.(and rehearsed as well) Had to think about his jokes more as he got older but still always on point. Great bit!
One of my favorite segments was Dave calling a radio station where listeners would call in to report traffic problems. So Dave calls in anonymously to report that cars at his location seem to be completely gridlocked, not moving at all. The radio station is very intrigued wanting more details on the situation. Dave keeps filling them in, but then finally says, "oh never mind, it was just a red light." LOL
I remember that segment so well. I think he was calling 1010 WINS (All News, All the Time). It may have been his first big skit when he moved to CBS and the Ed Sullivan Theatre. 😎
While I’m glad to see a Letterman clips channel with great quality video/audio, I really hope they don’t start making copyright claims against Letterman videos that have been on here for years.
The best comedy ever! Nothing is better than Letterman’s drive-through stuff. He’s awesome. I love it when Seinfeld picks him up for coffee, comedians, drinking coffee, in cars.
"Hey, how'd you like to come in and stick your head underneath the Pepsi machine?" Lol! I've actually kind of wanted to do that at some restaurant when I was dying for a Pepsi 😆!
Dave is a classic, was thinking about him recently. I wonder if there's an easy way to rewatch all of his old shows? Not sure if talk shows are on streaming platforms yet.
