Hello, I’m a quilter and I just wanted you to know I use the 3M tapes to aid me in my sewing. I use the blue, lavender and lime (bright) green to keep my stitching and my straight lines perfect. I love that I never have any residue left behind. It is amazing on fabrics. When removing the tape it will not distort the fabric fibers. I know 😅 I’m a quilter but I love watching your channel, it’s so fascinating…. Thank you
Same here. Plus I use the purple delicate tape for taping drawing paper to a board for graphite and charcoal drawings. It takes a bit more care than if it were on wood, but you can peel it from paper without ripping. But... I miss the kitties! What were THEIR verdict on painter's tape??
WOW!! I wish this "stuff" was available 30 years ago when I began refinishing old/vintage/antique furniture. Your videos showing "Sanding Exhaustion" made me feel less alone in my own misery! Thanks so much for teaching so much and doing so with humor! From New Hampshire, Patricia 👵🏻 🤗
@@leewood729 That’s interesting. I paint. When I use canvases I can use just about any tape. However when I use w/c paper I can’t find one that does not pull layers off the paper. It’s very frustrating, frankly. A competitor of theirs had one that worked beautifully, but sadly, they stopped making their’s. So now there isn’t any that works for me. I refuse to screw up any more expensive, w/c paper with tape that doesn’t, really doesn’t work.
3m sanding pads for your orbital sanders are game changers! Thank you for the painters tape “wait 30-60 minutes” tip, that might be exactly what I needed🤗
I've been using the purple delicate surface tape for a while and really like it. I use it when I don't want to risk pulling out any wood fibers like a more aggressive tape might do.
Back in the day 3M, based in St. Paul, MN, moved a tape division plant to my home town in MN. Later they also added a magnetic tape plant. I worked for 3M for a few years before going back to school to get a BFA degree. Other family and friends made it their career and are now retired. It's interesting to see how the company started and the many items they developed and branched off into over the years.
I used to only buy cheap sandpaper because, I am just cheap. But I kept hearing what a difference a good sandpaper makes. So one day I sprung for a pack of 3M Pro grade and, WOW, what a huge difference! Now all I have in my shop is the 3M Pro grade papers.
ACE stores and Lowe’s also carry their stuff. I’ve used 3M stuff since I was a kid-I just turned 61. They have actually good products! Great sponsor for you! 😂I’m actually using the sanding sponges on a chair I’m doing right now!
Jay: 3M’s products have always been tops with me. As an interior designer, I’ve used it for many different things and it never failed me. Love the product. Carol from California
I don't think I've ever used a bad 3M product. I'm a messy painter, so I like using the thick painter's tape to tape out the floor with strips of brown paper. Saves my floors every time!
You are one of a very few people whose ad content I will gladly watch because I know that you would genuinely not back something you are not happy to use yourself. So, happy to see you getting those sponsorship dollars and branch out into other kinds of content on your channel. 👍
Gosh dang it Bro.!!! Keep forgetting how freakin HANDSOME you are when you face the camera!!! LOL!!! Bro., I hope you get 1000 more sponsors Bud. Hoping all is well my friend, Dirty Jersey out!!!
Years ago, I worked for a steel fabricator. We purchased many, many 3M sanding papers and tapes. Why? Because it was the best. I hope you had fun making your commercial!
Great review of the Scotch brand tapes. I actually learned a few new things by watching this. I enjoy all the neat products and equipment you use in your shop. You never fail to wow me on every video! A real magic show.👍
I know that they aren’t in the ‘Art’ supplies business, but I sure wish that someone made a tape delicate enough to use on cold press watercolor paper so it wouldn’t pull up half of the w/c paper with it when it’s removed. I’ve had paintings ruined that way. There are too many degrees of ‘delicate’ to just label it that way. There are also different layers of delicate with regards to wallpaper too. Perhaps you could mention this to them. When the other company stopped making their’s I tried the Scotch…no bueno for me. It would be wonderful if there was one that was delicate enough for artists. There is ‘designer’s tape’ that is low tack, but I’ve found it doesn’t produce a clean line .
Cool vid. I enjoy your work. I would really like to see a vid of all the furniture that you have restored and kept for yourself in the places in your home that you use them. Thanks from Texas!
Thanks for the recommendation. I used 3M sandpaper with a recent project, and it definitely worked better than other sandpapers. Random comment: I watched part of your live interview video last night. Instead of dumping furniture on the side of the road for people to take, have you thought about supporting a charity? There are lots that collect furniture from your house and then sell it to raise funds.
You got me hooked! Actually I do use the 3M tape all the time (Blue) but I do get confused with the other kind they make. I’m definitely hooked on the sand paper. There’s nothing worse when your trying to sand by hand n the sand paper continues move or slip, hate that. So Jay, I’ll be buying 3M products next time. It’s worth the little extra cost when does what it says it does. You did a great job in advertising this product. ♥️♥️😊👍🌟🌟
Look at you with the big time sponsor! Congrats and good job.
Thanks! 😃

It’s actually surprising how much different there is between different tapes 😀
So happy for you to get such a good company to sponsor you!! I love 3M’s stuff.
Thank you ❤️
Thank you for your kind words about 3M! As retirees and stockholders we need all the positive feedback we can get! Glad our products work for you!

Do they make the Velcro kind for your corner sander?😮
I haven’t used those but most likely
You did such a great job
Give that man his own TV show! You’re a natural.
