when mixing a song I will close my eyes and picture the sounds as different evolving shapes and colors. Each sound has infinite colors and could change by putting a low pass filter on to shave off some high/bright frequencies darkening up the sound and color. The better I become at mixing the more defined this room becomes in my closed eyes minds visual
This is fascinating, especially when you think about the fact that almost every person interpreted the color of the note differently. There are so many different perspectives and interpretations that we don't experience- synesthetic or not! I wonder what we could learn if we opened our minds to all of them.
I see a perticular colour for a perticular instrument and a perticular person's voice I see them combining and see how a soothing voice is created in front of me.
When I use certain cannabinoids my senses become mixed. I often persevere sound as a color with texture and dimension. I will also taste sound or see taste. Sweet foods are blue and cold. Savory are warm and orange.
But some of these are just people associating things with what is socially understandable to associate them with. For example, a dripping sound making someone think of blue. We all know why that would be. I don't believe this should be confused for what some of these artists and myself experience. There is no logical reason the number 4 is a female to me, nor why the entire 90's is a gradient scale of oranges. Anytime I think of numbers I see a mental 4D map of the numbers and same goes for months, etc. If September makes someone think of yellows/oranges it could just be because of the fall colors associated with that month. But for me September is a weird steel blue-gray color. It's not associated with anything, that's just what I see/feel September is. I don't like how this video insists that everyone has it. I don't believe so. Synesthesia is not simply memory-based, like a smell reminding you of a place. It's more like the smell of apples somehow making you taste lasagna for no apparent reason.

There's a part of this video that was obviously just ungraded Slog footage but then later the same interview is graded haha, sick video otherwise

YOU MENTIONED COLORS NOW THINK THEY SEE COLORS
I picture certain notes with a colour. Nothing special it didn't help me with anything just some weird creative mind.
When I freestyle I envision scenes and describe them while rhyming
Face it we all clicked cause we saw Nadeskas face.
I know this; Lorde is full of it. That’s not what it’s like. At all.
