Man please come out with your own "Jeen Yuhs" style documentary of your career. The fans wanna see all the real footage of those times. You and Chad are an inspiration to so many.
I watched this movie and cried several times because as an artist you can relate to the passion it feels to make what you truly love and it was so relatable to me.
@@beckyo6858 it's really kind of walk through his life. So there are fun light-hearted parts, that go through his childhood. As he goes through adulthood however, he talks about social issues, like the black lives matter movement, and different vices and struggles he's had as well. So depending on how old your son is, just know that it's not all the way family friendly, but it's still an excellent watch.
Being "Lego'd" to me is the equivalent of being "Muppet'd" or sonically being "Weird Al'd". I absolutely feel his understanding of being known for not what you can give but others can appreciate.
The Roots have been with Jimmy for so so long and I'd love to see some more about them as individuals... I miss that keyboard guy when he did his sorry notes when they'd zoom in on his face haha that was the best, they are so talented
James Poyser is an incredible musician and songwriter. You should look him up. He's probably been involved in something you absolutely love, and you didn't even know it.
This has to be one of the most Powerful interviews I've ever seen. I've always known of Pharrell but I've never seen him in an interview. I'm feeling So impacted and I relate to what he said. 🙆🏾♂🙌🏾
it's Jimmy's horrible planning....he sets everything up as if it's this spontaneous magical moment but it's just basically a rushed sketch...and even though it would've been cool if he just introduced it as leading into the song instrument by instrument, he tries to sell it like in the title "create a song piece by piece"...which isn't at all what they did
@@directedby5759 Yeah none of it’s improv and Pharrel is definitely a musical leader, it’s just this specific detail that I thought was funny. Still entertaining though 😄
Seems like such a sweet chill human. My mom always says now is the best time and you can do anything at any age (she is a nurse). I hold these statements to be so true. I love him automatically making roots do a song.
This documentary cheered me up as an English student, because it's sometimes frustrating not being able to understand a movie or show, but the language they used was excellent, I loved it, thank you very much, may you continue to be successful, God bless you.
That part about hearing an hour of your own voicemails puts a new spin on musicians seeing/hearing themselves all the time (esp the popular ones, that aren't egomaniacs anyway)
Found out about the movie through this interview and saw it today. Loved it. Could see several people grooving in their seats during the movie. Such an energetic and fun soundtrack. I had no idea how many people collaborated with Pharrell over the years. Thanks Pharrell and Jimmy!
Bravo!! This film is what people, especially people of young age, need these days! It shows that someone who is "gifted", is not automatically successful. The factor is the effort, the desire for challenge and to cope with and capitalize on setbacks = Growth Mindset!
Pharrell never seizes to make me emotional as a kid who was raised on music and it being a dream he is someone who I can relate I don't come from the fanciest background but I dont take anything for granted. And him being so humble and uppy all the time really resonates with my soul and being a genuine human. Thank you pharrell

Piece by piece was a great movie it was so dope and fun that when Pharrell was telling his story with Lego pieces! 😊😄😇 and on October 11th right before my birthday and it’s coming up on October 12th!
Notice how Jimmy didn't do his incessant random laughs. Just goes to show how profound Pharrell's words were. Twas time to listen without interrupting. 👍

It’s never too late whether you’re 8 or 80. Now is better than never. 😭 😭 😭 I love him so much !
I agree. this is priceless and needed Ed from a musician 😢😢
Yeah that hit me too! I have way to many hobbies that I'm good at to think I'm to old to not make them a life changing reality! I needed this!
It doesn't matter to him because this is a Vampire, He don't age, lol

Would this be ok for a child to watch my son loves Lego and it looks so interesting

His voicemail analogy was awesome. Hats off to you sir - I completely understand now
😎
I love Jimmy Fallon. But @Pharrell, as a fellow musician, you really inspired me here. Thank you! 🙏🏼 ❤
My main takeaway from this was: Pharrell Williams is 51???
Damn!
I knew he wasn't as young as he looked but didn't realize he was 51. That's wild!
51?!?!??
He looks like he's 35 not 51 damn black don't crack at all.
He has a few videos circulating where he takes skin care super seriously :)
Pharrell is One of my favorites❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
I felt such joy and major goosebumps when Pharrell shared knowledge with us. I feel inspired 🥰 Can't wait to see the documentary!

he speaks with so much passion ugghhhhh I love!!
Pharrell is smart. Somehow through that Lego toy he will be immortalised
Because all the thousands of hours of Media didn't already do that.
Pharrell is a proper good guy. Fantastic spirit. Need more people like him in this world. Absolute legend.

Here's a song we totally didn't plan in advance lol. The band were just making up a melody, Pharrell basically did nothing but count them in 😂

Yeah, so well rehearsed. Marketing is magical.
Lego is so great and the company is also really good, not only as a Danish person, but having used it since early childhood.
What a wonderful human being. What a BEAUTIFUL , HUMBLE SOUL❤

Some sentiment I needed to hear right now. Will be checking out the doc too, leave it to Pharrell to put a fresh spin on something.
