Thinking of your chickens and the bag or corn you still have - check out info on youtube about first sprouting the corn before you give it to them. It makes the corn go further because the sprouts are ‘extra’ for free, but it’s also much better for the chooks to eat sprouted grain than corn kernels. It’s more nutritious and more digestible 🙂

Omg. You just put a huge smile on my face. When I was a little girl we lived on a farm in New Jersey. In a very old farm house with a food cellar out in the back yard. Our well went dry, and it was dry for a long time. We were not fortunate enough to afford to have it fixed. So my parents being the hippies that they were, managed to make the best out of everything for us kids. We had to bathe and wash off in the rain. And when it didn't rain, we would take a drive down the road to the nearest Brook and bathe in there. I usually don't tell alot of people this because at the time, for a small child it was embarrassing. And all these years whenever I thought about those days I would sort of get upset and angry at that memory. But for the first time in my whole life I smiled as if seeing you guys go through this made it ok. And actually brought tears to my eyes while smiling. Guess those were actually the good ol' days. Thank you so much for changing my outlook on something that had been a not so good memory into something more. I'm so very grateful for this.

I look forward to your blog every week and think you are both amazing for what you are doing! I’m 57 and in the process of converting my shuttle bus. It’s almost done! You’ve inspired me and I can’t wait to start my travels and ‘land’ where I’m meant to be. I would love a tiny piece of land to live off of. I just love your enthusiasm everyday, even when things don't work out exactly as planned and most of all, I love the way you work together. You bring joy to my soul, you are a beautiful, amazing team. I own and operate a small motel in BC, Canada; I look after my 93 yr young mom, I have 5 small pups and am renovating a 24' motor home to be my tiny home. Everyday is filled with a million projects, and not all work out exactly as planned. But, I am blessed and thankful everyday for the strength to work hard and for the help of others along the way. All the very best to you both and your sweet pup, she is soooo lovely!

You are young, in fact most people on You Tube are young.
But, is really interesting that all these people share their life, without being too personal .
SOCIAL Media can be an interesting
    thing .
    I have lived life fully
    and I have experienced many
    similar things.
It is really nice that you guys share your ways of life.
I like to see how people figure things out in other circumstances.
Thank you and all other You Tubers that I follow.
    Keep up the great videos.
If I was younger, I would put things on You Tube also.
But, I am very busy living life .
( downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, woodworking, carving wild life, fishing, painting pictures and spending lots of time with my grandkids. )
So, I can live through you You Tube people.
Looking forward to your next videos.

My wife and I enjoy your videos so much now that the quarantine has been partially listed I wanted to let you know that her sister lives in Cerro Punta. She has a business that sells "puercas" (huge bags of veggies) I think for like $8. Her name is Maritza and they sell on the side of the main road its right next to the Cerro Punta sign that tourist take pictures in front of. There is one there and they are right past and next to them in a gravel lot. She also sells hydroponic grown strawberries. She and her daughters speak English. My wife and I are coming to Panama in March 2021 hoping to check out your store that I hope is up and going by then. You all are great!!

Go look at Mount Totumas Cloud Forest for their green houses. Also they have same wind difficulties. I formerly owned this farm. It is north of Volcan off road to Rio Sereno. They have greenhouses, coffee, and lots of things. Also you would probably benefit by purchasing your plants from vendor. You need to check into large bamboo to build your greenhouse and covered community shelter. Love what you are doing but they could help you get past some of your mistakes. They grow hydroponic veggies and generate electricity from collecting spring water. I purchased the original hydro electric plant from Deming Washington. Also check into a ram pump and two inch mangera to move watet up hill. I think I paid 700 for one. They are good people and you could benefit from what they have going on. God Bless.

if you have alot of trees that fall down, im talking like 6 to 8 foot branches, make an "old time" jamestown settlement fence... basically a fence post every 6 to 8 feet and weve the 8 to 12 foot branches between the post. no nails needed. its cheap and easy but also keeps out the cows. and you can build them higher if needed too. Contgrats on finding water too! hope it is potable and great for yall too. and yea I think letting the cows poop on a portion at a time will help keep the grass furtlie and at the same time getting an organic grass fed cow every once in a while is great. So excited and glad you all are out of quarantine too.

Happy for you guys! Finding that spring is a major game changer. They make some great 12v above the ground and submersible pumps. Depending on the elevation may have to have a pump station with an above the ground pump bringing the water from the spring to a holding tank. Then a submersible pump in the tank pumping it up to the van all powered by a small separate solar system. During the day with a couple of panels would trickle charge the battery while giving water at little to no cost for the battery. Just pump of the day even a single marine battery would be plenty enough for the amp spikes the pump would pull while using it very sparingly in the night hours. The panels and the piping would be the cost but cheaper than digging a well which may not even find water. I use a system like this for my garden which is not near my house it was cheaper to pull water out of a branch than to pipe my house water to the garden. I tested it without the car battery the panels alone ran the pump just was slow to get up to speed which is the only reason I used a car battery.
Perhaps a single pump would work if you used half inch flex pipe (much cheaper) giving the whole system more psi but a lower volume. Pumping straight up is hard on a pump but on an incline you could greatly! increase the pumps rated pull/push distance. Spring water doesn't need boiling y'all could have fresh spring drinking water!. Also glad they lifted the restrictions none of us will take freedom for granted again....

Wow H2O!!! Awesome so happy for you and glad the previous owner did not know. Wow they could have played hard ball with you and even asked for more $$$. Great News.
Then working with the local people and a land lease with a fence also! Great job.
I am so impressed with the green house and those wild wood cuts on the shelves, good job. Extra strength, space for plants and a way to secure plastic - brilliant as they say across the pond.
Thanks for sharing your doing a great job.

Water is essential on a farm, great find in that spring/underground river. When you get your first beef, find a meat processor that will hang it for a minumum of three weeks in a cooler, six weeks is better. You will lose some weight due to aging, but you will thank me every day when you never have to use a knife to eat your beef.

I just had a pallet delivered yesterday. That's a week early. It weighs 600 lbs, that is 272.1554 kg. It's ten 400watt solar panels for building my own power supply. I'm building my own solar panel array and I'll be adding it to my two wind turbines so I can build a combined total of 8.5kw or 8,500 kilowatts power supply. I think I'm going to build it all on my cargo trailer so it can be portable enough to take it with me wherever I go.

How nice you're finally be able to go out together and have more freedom after this long quarantine. I myself have been stuck on a ship (where I work, but can't now), since March 15th, no chance to go out and step on soil ;(
Hopefully all this will be over soon. Miss walking on land ;(
    Blessings guys :)

If you take a black coil of water line... and a black interior in a box holding that coil .. or perhaps even black plastic inder it..Put it up in the air maybe even on the bus roof..& the sun will warm water -when the sun is high ... then..
You need to feed water into it , and then make a mixing...” hot n cold spigot”.. & you will have, hot showers
    😉

What you need to do with the water is dig a pond, reservoir or a holding area for the water and build a ram pump, there simple, they take no electricity to run, it runs by water pressure. FREE water to your tank 24/7 !! Seeya Rob

You guys are the smartest young people trying to escape the problems of the US. The plan you are following makes the most sense, and I think will pay off the most in the long run. Buying a great piece of land and building your own house, is the smartest way to go. Coral snakes can't bite you unless you get your bare feet near them. The old rule of identification is, "red touches yellow, kills a fellow", so if the red stripes touch the yellow stripes, they can be lethal, but their mouths are too small to bite much, except maybe bare feet or bare hands.

You can make your own carbon filter system with leftover soda bottles, the two liter type, using rocks, sand, charcoal,, and cotton. Then, just boil your water or get a distiller, which is what we use.

  • @JoeZyzyx

Try a split rail fence to keep the cows out. Not too expensive, not difficult to make. You better filter and then chlorine the water before drinking any of it. I bet rain from cow crap runs down there into that water source too. Hope you have clear tape for that hot house plastic if it gets a cut anywhere on it. Small cuts in wind become big cuts.

Don't worry about that Coral snake. Even though it's venomous it's pretty docile. They don't bite unless you're handling them wrong. Their mouth is super tiny. Yay, I'm so excited quarantine is being lifted. Looking forward to being able to take road trip in Panama

Cows are very destructive for your garden you should be putting a strong gate up at your entry for security also. I know it’s a lot of work but maybe a couple treated 8’ 4x4 post buried 3’ deep and packed with gravel every week or other week in preparation for a nice secured fence around your pasture property
