The porch is great and I love the couch too! Next I suggest building a roof over your porch (covering your door to the bus-house) so in the rainy season you can still go outside and drink your coffee on the comfy couch.🌦

It made me smile, made me so happy to hear Jordan say he wanted to let Kaylee build the bench so she could learn how to use all the tools, I am sure when she sits on that bench there is so many good feelings, pride, comes to mind, I know it made me happy to see how happy you guys are there on the land in your house making it better everyday. Thanks for sharing, and as always stay safe and god bless love ya Nancy ps lola is living the life, and those chickens are getting so big so fast, that is so cool...

Love your videos and ideas. Only flaw with the rain water harvesting is that you will end up with stagnant water between the strainer and the elbow before the planter. I would've taken the pipe straight from the roof of the bus to the tank or added some sort of tap/ball valve to the bottom of the pipe to drain it when there is no rain

At our cottage in northern Ontario we have roads like that. So we gathered the owners around our area and we developed a road crew. Now 5 times a yr we all gather to repair the road. Also if someone hasn’t money they donate time. We do have residences who are seniors who cannot help. So their kids come.
Are you going to built a roof for your deck?

I just really love your videos. I think it's super cool that you may be adding an addition on to the HOUSE!!!! Excited! I think it's super cool that instead of getting rid of the bus you kept it and it's your home. That's so awesome. It reminds me of Tiny House Preppers channel, they have since moved because they needed additional space to take care of the dad. They used to live in their trailer on their plot. It was their home for several years. They had built a sun room onto their trailer. You guys are reminding me of them haha. Thanks for sharing your life with all of us.

Spouse and I found you damn kids, while we were researching Panama y Ecuador as possible retirement destinations. I grew up north shore, my wife grew up south shore of Boston. As we kept watching your vids, we kept looking at each other, "Is that a Boston accent that keeps creeping out every once in a while?" And it was kid! Don't know if you were natives, but we definitely picked it up. Both wife and I have long since abandoned our local speech affect for something far more neutral and professional. You have shared quite the adventure with all of us, and in so doing, the quality of who you both are comes shining through. Wish you much happiness and success. And of course, 'Subscribed'.

Hey guys @ 1:20 you're digging in your compost. Have you given any thought to letting the chickens scratch in there as well? I've seen a lot of other videos where that's a source of food for them with the added benefit of any droppings add valuable nutrients right into the compost pile.

Hi guys. I live off-grid in Mexico. Once the rains arrive, it's time to transplant your hibiscus. They need to be spaced a couple feet apart. It you have leafcutter ants, you'll have to defend the plants. They will grow all through the rainy season and then first get creamy yellow flowers. The, they will get seedpods with succulent red leaves. Those succulent petals are what we make tea out of. It's ready to harvest when the seedpods rattle and start to open. Then you cut them down or pull them up. Save the seeds and start again. Enjoy😊

Absolutely love seeing you two make progress. People can't quite grasp the feeling when I try to explain how fulfilling just sitting on my porch, drinking coffee and staring at the mountains. It's something that just fills the soul. Your chicken hut is almost an exact copy of my first chicken coop build. I ended up putting handles on one side and large wheels on the other side. It turns the coop into a chicken tractor that you can move every few days. It helps the chickens get to fresh grass and bugs, and also puts them to work clearing out areas for gardens for you. 😉

    Hi guys,
I would love to be in your shoes! A couple of suggestions for the homestead:
    1. Make sure to cover any opening into your water system with fine screen so you don't breed mosquitos (didn't see screen in downspout from solar panels).
    2. If you shorten the back legs or prop up the front legs of your new bench just a bit it will be much more comfortable. If you want to get fancy make it adjustable (next best thing to a recliner).
    3. Get some kind of rain water harvesting collector up and running. It doesn't need to be fancy- think tarp laying on a slope on the bare ground with a collection pipe at the bottom corner tied in with string. As long as it is above your big tanks you should be fine.
    4. If your chickens are getting big enough to start foraging let them loose on your compost pile. They will augment the nutrient value while turning it over and it will break down much quicker. Let them do the work. Always remember "those are working chickens."
    5. Finally, I don't know exactly what kind of predators you have down there but build a secure chicken coop ASAP. Also make sure the chickens have something close by to dive and hide under if predatory birds come by. A chicken tractor would be perfect just make sure it is snake proof.
Take care, stay safe and all the best from California 💛

Hey guys, I've mentioned this before but haven't noticed you talking about it in the videos. If that's not
SCHEDULE 40 PVC then it's not going last long out in the sun. Regular PVC is made to be buried.
Otherwise, it will get brittle and just crack and break. So I'm not sure if it will work but you might try
painting it. But since it's just been sitting on the property for who knows how long, it might not last long.

So, I see you got some rain gear, which brings to mind: share with us, maybe not now but when the quarantine is lifted, the price of clothing in Panama. My experience is that a trip to Panama will totally pay itself off if you go down with an empty set of suitcases and buy a whole wardrobe in Panama. We did that a couple of years ago. Our clothes were all ratty and had holes in them, went down, loaded up and returned with good quality low-cost clothes that have lasted us at least a couple more years!

Like you we built a deck onto our RV after we finished traveling and chose a permanent place to park it. We later built a room on top of our deck which we then used as our living and dining room. You don't have to cut a hole. Just walk out your door and in to your living room.

Hey you two. I just discovered you guys. I'm so happy for you and inspired. You're living the dream I'm chasing. I love you guys! Keep up the great work, the great content and the inspiration for those of us still chasing the nomadic lifestyle.

You are the only couple I follow on RUclips. During this pandemic you give us all hope. Keep making videos. Best Wishes from the desert.
