Greg, did you know bamboo is the tallest grass in the world. What a lovely park! I'm checking on Google maps where you are simultaneously as I'm watching the video....beautiful place! I loved Greg's "that's why I called her Posy"....gorgeous! Don't fear the elk Maddy, elk are plant eater... herbivores, they eat hoomans as a rule....too butter for them 😄
As a child we went and we'd cook breakfast by the river and eat... then swim. Best breakfast ever

Reminds me of our family vacations as a kid. All packed in the station wagon, 8 or 9 out of the 12 of us, as older ones aged out the younger ones came along. Fishing was a love of my family too, dad fly fishing.

Cherokee is one of our favorite places to visit. One the second day there we saw a Elk walking on the side of the road,
Cherokee is a great place for a family vacation! We go there often and love it! We live about an hour from Cherokee🙂
The last vacation I took was to Wallowa lake in Joseph Oregon. I took my mom and my sister and her family. It was so nice and quiet there.
I would love to have Bamboo here in Norway. If you watch the youtuber "Liziqi" you will see her make lots of things of Bamboo. She is awesome with her old school crafts. But if this was here in Norway you would see dogs with their owners absolutely everywhere. Hugs from Norway.
My husband would love this place. He's also cherokee too. He loves nature and climbing trees.

Perhaps for next summer it would be fun for the kids to learn about the different native tribes in your area and in the country. I'm currently planning on learning about Viking history after learning I have Viking ancestry and its been fun.

Me and my parents always drove over to Cherokee when we went to Gatlinburg especially in the fall. I still have 3 or 4 turquoise rings which are about 30 years old.
Bamboo spreads like wildfire and it’s very hard to get rid of. It will take over your yard. It’s pretty, but invasive. Take care.

Hey Amy you guys should look into a storage container for the rack on top of your car. That’s why those are there. To be able to attach them for added storage. They have soft type containers or hard plastic containers. They are amazing to free up space inside the car. Or you can get heavy duty trash bags & have a Greg strap them down on the top. That way they are waterproof from any rain you might get caught in. We used this when traveling & it made a HUGE difference. I love seeing your kids out being kids in nature. To not be wrapped up in technology like lost kids are. What a beautiful place.

Maggie Valley....Love it. My mom had a cabin there many years ago. We would spend the summers on vacation and having the best time. Brings back cherished memories. Thank you Amy for sharing. Many blerssings

Love the blue ridge mountains! Currently live in the Adirondacks upstate NY. I visited Cherokee a few years back and stayed at Mile High Campground. Great primitive camping maybe Greg and the boys would enjoy with fly fishing at a later date! Enjoy your Day!

Cherokee is mine and my husband’s favorite spot. We love going to the oconaluftee village and walking through the town and then just driving through the beautiful mountains. Hope your family had a great vacation.

They have jerky like that at Silver Dollar City in Branson MO. We live about an hour away from it.
We have bamboo around our pond and it is such a nuisance. I encroaches and we spend part of the summer cutting it back. I don't care much for the town or Cherokee but I love the Smokey Mts. And I did love The Trail of Tears. I am enjoying seeing the water and mountains. I am looking to seeing the Little Pigeon River. Have fun.
There not made by the locals.. all from China.. you used to be able to go onto the reservation and that’s where you would get the authentic Indian items. Wow! This film brings back memories

Great fun post- feeling like I am holiday with you all :) . As much as the bamboo is beautiful, People probably wants to get rid of the bamboo as it is highly inflammable thus, major cause of wild fire spread. Maddie is so funny :)
We actually had an outhouse in my grandma's back yard. She told me when I was young that snakes might bite you in the behind if you go to the bathroom so I wouldn't go in there unless she did a snake check...lol.

Greg stay at a campground ….Yogi Bear , rent a cabin , walk out a little ways and fish till your heart is content. My guys fish there lots. We are 20 minutes from there . You drove by our home in your video. Do your research about fishing, some of the water is for tribal members only.

Be sure to drive north just out of Cherokee toward gatlinburg to view the elk later in the evening. Massive and awesome. Just a mile or so out of town.
We did see.one..but didn't go at night time ...next time we will

When you all get different meals like that do you ever try each other's meal I would almost like to have a bite of everyone so that I saw looked good. Never had a spinach quesadilla but it looked good and I'd like to share one bite might never order a whole one.
