To be honest dovetail, I wouldn't look to add anything else to the game until you sort out all the errors and inconsistencies this experienced driver pointed out to you!
Looks like the biggest thing they need to fix is the speed limiter. Looks like Jess is used to keeping the power handle all the way to 4 and lean on the speed limiter. That's why she keeps blowing past the speed limit.
@CristiNeagu not all the way to 4, but we keep the power on 1 or 2 and the limiter holds it, otherwise we would be slowing down and speeding up constantly.
I hope you guys are taking notes 😂 The info she is giving you is absolute gold. And some things seem like simple updates and fixes - such as which way round the train is, or having the rear pan raised. I know these aren't bugs, just a details thing, so not a huge priority. However, it would be nice to see her knowledge put to use.
@Geno2733 Oh, nice! I did upgrade a couple weeks back and noticed a few of the visual things seemed to be as she suggested. I take it the expert mode will include some of the extra controls, like on the screen the drivers use?
The thing that really stands out to me is just how loose Jess is with the speed limits. She's not driving the train like a race car, trying to stick to the speed limit as close as possible. And to be honest, this makes sense. But if you do this in TSW, you WILL fall behind on your schedule. The timing is way too tight on all routes. You don't have time for checks, or for setting things up. You must close doors the instant you can, you need to do a burnout leaving the station, then you need to drive at 125.9mph, and then you need to be screeching into the platform in order to have a chance at making it on time. The schedule is way too tight.
Wow I wasn't even expecting a part 2 but I really enjoyed the first part and hearing all the in-depth knowledge Jess has about the route in the last one.
Watching this it highlights the desire for as much realism as possible but also the challenge for the developers in making it a game that someone can just jump in and play as well as something that offers the challenge for more experienced users. For a casual gamer you might drive this line today, bakerloo line tomorrow and Faversham High speed next week. All have unique trains and points of interest and getting that balance is a challenge.
I find this very interesting as you can now see the game in a completely different way. I've wouldn't of known even half of what jess knows its incredible
Great to see Jess taking the game apart 😂 One question I have about stopping at the end of the platform - yes, you need to go far enough along that the rear doors aren't hanging off the end of the platform - but why does that mean you need to do right to the end? At Selby (s-bound), it means the rear carriage has gone past the end of the platform canopy, meaning that if it's raining, everyone has to get wet! Hull Trains with exactly the same model of train stop at the 5-car marker meaning that they're alongside the canopy where everyone is waiting.
Jess speeding, that's tea n biscuits with your manager, Dad Rail says the same thing hehe....love these videos with a real train driver, great job Jess. More please. Daz, Leicester.

… sounds to me like the dlc producers need real train drivers on their team during development if they want to call this a simulation as in Train Sim World … Jess is great👌
The DTG guy is covering for bugs. They are game devs "oh that feature would be no fun/not game-y enough". I can just imagine the management meetings now. Ugh.
The rear panto can be raised by hitting the lower panto button and then going onto the TMS, finding Panto. Selection and clicking the rear panto box and hitting confirm, however the VCB light does not illuminate while the rear panto is up and if you move the reverser at all then it automatically goes down, other than that you can drive perfectly fine, I hope they at some point fix this and allow the rear panto to be the primary, but we gotta make do with what we got i guess not sure how realistic this info is but it's how it works in game
I didn't see Part 1 (I'll look it up), but I think his was great - of course, I assumed it was the driver's channel not the Railways' - how awesome!! (even better if it was done "on the clock")
Typically they would use the pantograph at the rear of the train of side of travel, so that there is time to lower the pantograph if there's any obstruction on the over head wires which may damage the pantograph.

Why not put the speed signs where you can accelerate instead of this weird system where you have to guess where you can accelerate depending on how many cars you have… 2,3,4,5,7,8 or 12 car configurations are common. Of different lengths of cars too.
Because think of the cost to maintain every one of those speed boards in the country for ever new rolling stock, length of train etc. And freight, they can vary from a light loco to 15/20 cars long.
