- Create a square in a square quilt using this shortcut technique. Using this technique you can make this block in half the time. Begin with the same size blocks and this sewing hack. No need to create bias cut triangles using this technique. You can also enlarge the block to your desired size. There is no limit but your imagination. It took me longer to create the video than it did to sew 20 square in a square block. The same method can be used to hack Half Square Triangle Quilt block

Hello Kindly Athena, starting out with two 6 1/2" squares yield you a 8 1/4" finished block. I hope this helps and keep trying

What size square would I need to start with if I want to make a 12 1/2 inch block (including 1/4 inch seam on all outer sides of last block) with a total of three squares (square in a square in a square)? I've used this method a few times, but I've never figured out the math for a particular finished size block. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Sharon, yes unfortunately with this method you do lose that perfect 1/4" at the point
How do you put together square in a square
Shelly you could piece them with or without a sashing strip. I plan to do a video putting mine together. I have enough for a quilt
How do I get part 2 please
Hi Linda Joyce I have to work on getting part 2 out. I have used these blocks in several other projects such as: purses, and quilt backs.
Terrible! Ragged! 😮
