Thanks so much for this $$$ saver. And you KNOW we have all forgotten to mirror our image out of excitement! I appreciate that you just rolled with it and giggled at your self :).
New to this, just kinda playing with the Cricut Maker toys.. I was so disappointed when I started seeing the cost of all the supplies to make my prints vibrant. I'm a tomboy trying to figure out the crafting world and did NOT wanna spend a ton of money. THIS IS A GAMECHANGER!! I am SO grateful I found this video! And now my hubby won't ban me from crafting, hahahah!!! Thanks again!
Great Video, etsy done getting my money for this stuff. $15 for a 8 oz i bought and the whole can of acrylic is $11... WOWWWWW. Thanks again for information.
Thank you for this video that is a wonderful and useful tip. If you ever make the mistake of not reversing the image best thing to do is use bake & bond by sculpey. It's a polymer based adhesive used for clay crafting. 1. Spread it evenly over the image 2. Use your heat press or bake it in the oven @350° until it is crystal clear and no longer milky (typically 30-75 seconds) and you can easily see your image. 3. Now submerge the whole image in water for about 10 mins 4. Peel and rub off excess paper and now you can use your image on the either side. (Most likely the mirrored one you originally meant to donit on in the first place.) 5. Celebrate since you dont have to waste any more sublimation paper.
P.S. if using your heat press please don't press down on it just let the top part hover over the top and the heat will do the baking (sometimes takes longer than the baking all you have to do is preheat the oven and wait.)
Wow! Thank you so much for sharing. This is a lifesaver. I am new to sublimation and boy is it expensive but the look is everything. I am so excited to try this method out!!🙌🏾🙌🏾❤️❤️
I think the magic is in the quality of the ink not the paper. I did buy some initially will use them but don't think I will buy any more its expensive.
Thank you for sharing! It seems like anything polyester is either sold out or non existent lately lol. Needed a few shirts and masks for my first sub project and couldn't find anything. I had that polycrylic just sitting in a drawer smh. I had no idea thats all I needed to do a cotton shirt. YOU JUST SAVED ME. Thank you again
I’d be A millionaire on how many times I got so excited to print a picture I forgot to mirror LOL LOL this makes it so much more authentic I love it thanks girl
Brilliant ! - Just getting started and reading up - was disappointed the ink is good only on poly but you found another use for my polycrylic that I have around for other crafts and the fact you used 20lb plain paper is wonderful too - cant wait to test it out (all my stuff arriving this week )
I followed your steps and it work. I was very pleased. I tried it on an old gold t shirt. Tomorrow I will wash it to see if it fades. I will post what happens after washing.
I do think like most delicate clothes. Hand washing is better. Treat it like you would a nice dress. Why we dry clean or hand wash because agitation in a wash machine take a toll on any clothes
correct me if I'm wrong, but you can heat press onto 100% cotton with out any additives. My understanding is that the additives are so that when you wash the 100% cotton shirt after heat pressing the design on the shirt, the image won't fade. I would really be interested in knowing if you have you washed the shirt in this video? Did it fade?
I love your video; thank you so much for sharing. I have got to try this technique. I really need to save money especially when I sublimate on t-shirts. I look forward to future videos from Ms. Suggieluv Crafts.
Yessss. It worked! I can't wait to try. And by the way I was screaming, it's not mirrored!! 🤣😂 Great explanation now I'm upset I bought some already made from somewhere else🤦🏾♀️
I won’t make fun of the backwards lettering (done that with my laser, done that with my CNC) but thank you for such a helpful video! We are just getting started, so any and all help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!!
nice thanks for sharing the whole time i talking to the screen say you forgot to mirror the image but it came out really nice . on my way to Walmart to get some polycrylic and a water bottle
This is brilliant.! Necessity is truly the mother of invention. I’m interested in trying sublimation but the supplies are so expensive. This video will help me to be able to try it. Thanks 🙏
I own a painting company, so I have several cans of Polycrylic laying around. I'm going to have to try this! Thanks! Also, I had to LOL when you didn't mirror your image. I just did 3 mugs last night with a reverse image on them (sigh). I guess my coffee cup collection just got bigger.
@@rachelpurvis2467 After watching this video I found a few others that said it washes out within a few washes. Decided not to waste my time. However, if you're making shirts that will only be worn once or twice, like special event shirts, it might be the way to go.
😂 I noticed early on it wasn't mirrored. I have that same problem I forget to mirror. But it did come out nice. New follower😁 I'm learning, and I like that you get right to the information that we came to get.
SINCE IM THE FIRST TO COMMENT I KNOW IT WAS GOING TO BE REVERSED LETTERS NOT UP SIDE DOWN ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK YOUR WORK BE FOR COMPLETION NICE JOB ON SHOW US THANK YOU VERY CLEAR ASWEL👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾🙂 GOOD CHOICE OF MUSIC FOR THE ENDING
Its Awesome but over here UK Minwax .50 Pint Gloss Polycrylic cost £31.99 ($43.60) at Amazon killer price but anyways how many times can the T be washed before the ink come's off ?? I do like your video and i'm looking forward to watching many more
Lol. The first time I did this I also forgot to mirror my image! Too excited to see if it worked. Great job and I really like your videos- keep it up sis.!
I liked your video found it very helpful,I used an electric spray gun which only cost about 20 dollers instead of a spray bottle and it works brilliant giving an even coating, thanks for your time to upload this video.
This is great but what does the image look like AFTER you wash the t-shirt? I would be interested in knowing that. My understanding that the imprinting isn't the problem with 100% cotton but that it fades on the first washing and continues to fade with each consecutive washing.
thanks for this great video and full details i appreciate it and i just need to ask any polycrylic can working well not diffrent between semi gloss or clear matte or clear gloss etc or anyone can get same results and its working on black or dark tshirts
The one I use was the clear gloss. Some ppl use the Matte however I don't know if it show has bright on the shirt. Also it work on with and light pastel color well on darker color it's not as bright.
Learnt two things today bout sublimation. 1. I can use regular paper to print on with sublimation ink. 2. I can make my own sublimation coating for my cotton t-shirts using MINWAX POLYCRYLIC and water. i,m also from Jamaica and want to say thanks to both people. One question, does it matter if i use GEL SUBLI INK(SAWGRASS) or LIQUID subli ink from Cosmo or Inkproducts?
I was really excited once I discovered this trick a couple months back but there is a fatal flaw with this technique after four or five washes the sublimation ink starts fading away.. ☹️
Omg hunny you saved me so much money and I knew it had to have been polycyclic!!! I’m so glad I found your video 🥰🥰🥰✌🏾✌🏾✌🏾✌🏾
Thank you! I also appreciate that you focus on how to do it without adding a bunch of extraneous stuff!

Thanks where can I find bake and bond?
Will it work on vinyl as well?
You are officially my new hero! You seriously just blew my mind!!!! 🤯🤯🤯🤯
Oh my goodness! You just saved my sanity. I am researching so many shirts! Thank you so very much.
Wow! Thank you so much for sharing. This is a lifesaver. I am new to sublimation and boy is it expensive but the look is everything. I am so excited to try this method out!!🙌🏾🙌🏾❤️❤️
Thank you so much for the information, the fact that you didn't use sublimination paper is great to know.

Please do a follow up after washing the shirt. Great job!
I have washed the shirt 10 times still look great
Exactly because all the experts keep saying that once you watch it it fades and comes off.
Awesome!!! This upped the sublimation game 1,000 times!! Eek!!! Thanks....so excited!! Hugs from Philly -christine

That was awesome. I really appreciate your clear explanation of everything you were doing
You're what it's all about !! Keep up the good work.
Hey as long as it worked. All is well. We get the idea that it has to be mirrored. Great video. New technique, thanks!!
Wow.. literally running to the hardware store.. omg big up
It came out very nice! The backwards JA had me confused for a minute lol. The design is still pretty. You can make a crop top!!
I won’t make fun of the backwards lettering (done that with my laser, done that with my CNC) but thank you for such a helpful video! We are just getting started, so any and all help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!!
You’re a blessing!!! Thank you sooo much for this knowledge!!

Tx a lot
I bet everyone here has forgot to mirror their design at one point :D, Great vid :)
Wow and to think I paid a lot of money for the one I ordered. Thanks hun.
Thanks, I was just looking into this. This video answered what I was wondering so.... Rite on time! Thanks for sharing
I liked your video found it very helpful,I used an electric spray gun which only cost about 20 dollers instead of a spray bottle and it works brilliant giving an even coating, thanks for your time to upload this video.
Fogot to say I bought the same polycrylic as you too.
Story of my life....all my shirts are in mirror image! Lol. Great tutorial. :O)
Does it have to be completely dry before you hear press the image?
Heat
I love how easy this looks!
How well does this hold up to being washed? I’m curious because the polycrylic is water based. Does it fade?
Fantastic tip!
Awesomely perfect
great job. gonna give this a try.
Nice, I’ve done the same thing I wear mine as a reminder. Lol
That's awesome
Thank you for sharing
i love the fact u forgot to mirror...happens to everyone at some point. LOL
ty so much love the video and no laughing
Awesome technique! Can you use a regular iron?? And forward or backward... Jamaica gets love!! Blessings!
You can use regular iron however you may not have even result as you would with a press.

Teflon sheet 16x20 with magnets
Wow! Thanks so much for this hack.
