Wilford actually loved this sketch.
I hope this is true! I would have loved to meet him!
I can’t fact check but I choose to believe that 😂
Somehow I’ve only recently discovered this gem. The way it switches from absurdity to satire is brilliant. The writer deserves every comedy award that ever existed.
The part about rolling off the horse onto a smaller horse onto a large dog has always been stuck in my head. This was when I first started actually staying up on Saturdays and watching SNL, I must have been like 12
@@TRJ2241987I remember watching this live and that part had me howling with laughter because it was such an unexpected thing to hear😂😂😂
He lived to 80+ ..... not bad for having beetus
He was also on hemodialysis.
I laughed WAY too hard at this fckn comment dude! 🤣
When he die he beetus all.
" sugar diabeetus"
he was 85....
Christ, how have I never seen this? This is comedy gold.
I love how the audience laughs even before he says "diabeetus" at the beginning.
They rarely have hosts who can do a 3min skit by themselves, but John Goodman is a legend!
"I haven't moved fast enough to sweat except when I was making a baby. Even then, I took some much needed breaks." 🤣
O m g 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂
Absolute Savage.
I wish I wrote that line
Let’s give a hand to the real hero the horse, stay in there buddy
Wilford Brimley was a Sargeant in the Marines. At one time, he was sweating.
But unlike making a baby, he couldn’t take making much needed breaks! 😂
“I can’t stand that gobbledygook. Always seems like someone else ate it first”
I can remember watching this with my brother and sister in the early '00s. We were all laughing until tears streamed down our faces.
“Now ima go get off my horse by… getting onto a smaller horse.. then onto a large dog… until I’m near enough to the ground to.. roll off.”
CTFUUUU
John Goodman is so underrated I have always liked him
He's never been underrated.....
@@HyperSimian right? He's only saying that cause he's a big fat guy.
@@HyperSimian this is true
He’s quite popular
@@HyperSimian Stay off the drugs my dude🫤🫤😊
The word "underrated" is itself underrated to most of you, apparently.
“I wouldn’t eat oatmeal if it was filling in a Dove Bar” Same Wilford. Same.
It's okay if you put sugar and heavy cream on it but then you need a bigger horse.
Oatmeal simply makes me gag, always has. I've been a "cold cereal" guy all my life, but that mushy mealy "hot cereal" stuff, no way.
@@bobdavis4848 Oatmeal I can eat, but grits or cream of wheat is just downright disgusting.
@@ReallyBadSeed Cream of wheat may have been what I gagged on actually. I don't recall ever eating grits; maybe I just looked at them once and thought "no way."
@@bobdavis4848 I'm right there with you. If it has the consistency of vomit, it's not going anywhere near my mouth unless you want a savage fight to break out.
I will say “diabeetus” in the Wilford Brimley voice randomly over the radios that broadcast plant wide where I work. I run an overhead crane in a steel mill. It’s one of the best things seeing people laugh while I’m watching from above. It was great to see WB become an internet meme, and sort of get a resurgence in popularity before he passed away. The diabeetus meme is one of the greatest memes of all time in my opinion. It’s been relevant ever since it became a thing, and never fails to make people laugh.
You too? 😂😂 Everytime I talk about my Diabetes... I just end up doing a Wilford Brimley impersonation
John Goodman did an awesome impression of the late Wilford Brimley and his ad of Liberty Medical on Saturday Night Live. RIP Wilford Brimley.
Does Goodman also have diabeetus?
If John Goodman did a portrayal of ANYTHING in my life, I'd take it as a huge compliment.
This is about the most hilarious sketch on SNL! My friends and I were dying when we saw this! 😂
I love John Goodman. I think we all do!
I think that Wilford Brimley deserved better, but I still chuckled.
He should've learned to pronounce "diabetes" and maybe it would've been nicer to him.
Surprisingly, I never once saw him in the two years I worked for liberty medical supply, but this is hilarious!
OMG I was laughing so hard that my cheeks literally hurt! LOL
Me and my dad always quoted this when I was growing up. RIP
Rest in Peace to your father!
My father as well (2007)
R.I.P. WILFORD BRIMLEY 🙏
Best sketch ever. Took long enough to upload.
He looks more like Noble Willingham aka C.D. Parker from Walker, Texas Ranger.
That is a good point, I didn't think of that, but I agree.
The guy from Ace Ventura?
@@mattyvarnas1736 yes, Riddle from Ace Ventura: Pet Detective
Underrated skit 😆😂😭
When you feed Arthur too much sugary items in RDR2
Love the honesty in this ad.
RIP Wilford Brimley!
Dude. I remember building the bionicles I bought that night watching this. 😂😂😂 I would quote the whole part about doctors not even sure he had diabetis, he just look like he did for years.
Old fashioned wedding cake frosting the kind with that's still got laaird in it 🤣
Oatmeal, Always seemed like somebody ate it first, BWAHAHAHAHAHA
This was actually probably my fav episode of SNL ever. I remember watching it and all but on sketch was A+ Plus, Tom Petty was the musical guest.
So much funnier having worked for Liberty for 15 years! lol
I’ve played this several times this is just too funny
OMG I WAS DYING LAUGHIN AT THIS SO HARD!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sure is funny, and you're so pretty 😍
When the truth is told. It’s hilarious.❤
“I’ve never moved fast enough to sweat except when I was making a baby.” 😂😂😂😂
Wilford brimley said he liked ice cream and apple pie lol rip
👉@2:31👈
Some people call it cholesterol
I call it just plain good🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yeah, we all saw the video.
Favorite SNL skit of all time
My Grandfather's name was Wilford as well. I used to tell my Pawpaw that I only knew two Wilford's in this world....him and Brimley.
"A MAN'S NOT SUPPOSED TO OUTLIVE HIS CHILDREN"
--Wilford Brimley from Cocoon
By far my favorite Brimley quote.
Horses that make it look like I can walk, take me to Hollywood!
Search “cat says diabetes vine” then you can come back and thank me here. 😂
or just link it
You know what I did so and yes I will thank you for sure cause that was priceless!!
Dia-betis!!
@@tommytwotones1283 years late ha. Shoulda woulda coulda 😂
@@P1983sche ghost from my past
2:33 😂😂😂😂😂😂 john is fcking hilarious bruh so underrated
Goodman is low-key all time great😂
He just said I look like somebody that would have it..
Thank you Wilford, for teaching us all how to mispronounce a word, and stick to our guns when corrected on it.
May the power of your mustache reign forever over all things diabeetus.
John Goodman nailed Wilford Brimley 😂
John Goodman as a old cowboy....COUNT ME IN....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :,D
''and Iv'e had DIABEETUS'' lol
Wilford Brimley was a very humble and sweet man. This wasn’t very fair to him.
This is Arthur Morgan if he had Diabeetus
OMG why am I just now seeing this. I can't stop laughing.
Goodbye, Wilford Brimley. 🥺
1:15 I lost it 😭
Legend doing a parody of another legend.
What about the apple pie 🥧 and ice cream 🍨 ?
I was up every 15 to 20 minutes

I'd like to see this turned into a ytp.
Diabetus is no joke!
I’m waiting to be taken to surgery to have my big toe amputated this morning.
I know people who eat like this. I’m so sorry about your toe!
I’m diabetic and I’m in so much pain every day
no joke. i got it as a little kid and it was a real challenge to control and prevent hypoglycemia prior to basal rate insulin like lantus.
I don't think 🤔making fun of diabetes, they're making fun of Wilfred Brimley's liberty medical ads.
@@Lillpixeychic type 2 diabetes? Why are you in pain?
I thought the horse was fake until I heard him neh lolz 🐴😂
I'm from the same area as Wilford and speak a bit like he does, so stop making fun of me! 😂
Goodman is an American treasure.
One of my goal was to get rich so I could get off a horse, on to a smaller horse, and then on to a large dog. Still holding out hope.
This is so underviewed
why do john goodman sound like wario a little bit 🤣🤣🤣
Even then I took much needed breaks 😂
This is real comedy.
Can’t stop laughing 😂
I occasionally think about the memes made about this man my favorite is still the Liberty Medical Happy Diabeetus song.
Love you John
Back when Saturday night live was really good
Remember watching this live, fuckn whole episode was hilarious john Goodman one of the snl goats
NOT MUCH 21st century snl is particularly good
BUT THIS IS AN ALL TIME CLASSIC AS GOOD AS ANYTHING FROM THE 70s 80s or 90s
My God, the whipped cream 😱😱😱
How does he not laugh do this skit.
"Gobbledeegook" - used for dialects, not for food.
Fact: The real Wilford Brimley worked as a bodyguard for actors, which was apparently several years and boxes of doughnuts before he became well known.
DiabetUS.
Pretty good at being Wilferd Brimley
Diabeetus.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Its gold Jerry, gold!
RIP Wilford Brimley
He looks exactly like my grandpa did.😂😂
...
Nothing but respect for the real Wilford Brimley. LOL! Little chance I could figure that he'd cheat his probably medically-required food choices.
There are however, people with actual junk food issues that do ridiculously involve frosting, cake and sugary stuff that people probably don't need around 1/1,000 the time anyhow.
John Goodman ♥️♥️♥️
we shot the original in Calgary, Alberta...Wilford was good on horseback, better than he was on his feet.
That's where I am right now and it's 34 below zero
D i a b e e t u s
He’s so diverse
This is the funniest ish ever
I think I have diabetuhs too
That poor fake horse
Wish he would have only added “check it often”
God John Goodman is awesome 😂
Hilarious 😆😆😆😆
A random memory of this popped in and I had to see this lol
John Goodman is an improv God
John Greatman
He just said i look like someone who would have it -
When did this actually air?? Seems this was when Goodman was much older and well past the heyday of when these commercials were on TV. Unless they just made him look older with makeup and such
