New Tie Rod Set from 1AAuto.com trq.video/ib-1...
Outer tie rods, sometimes referred to as “tie rod ends,” connect the steering rack to the steering knuckle. Their joints can wear out over time, causing loose steering, vibrations, and uneven tire wear. They are also a common failure point in localities with safety inspections. This video shows you how to install new TRQ outer tie rods on your 2007-14 Ford Edge.

If you are really having trouble breaking free te inner tie rod nut hook up a towstrap and latch it underneath the lower control arm or somewhere you can benefit from the force of It , get it as tight as you can and hammer the end of the 24mm wrench until it breaks free. Didn't have to use heat and only took a few sprays and about 20 whacks with a 5lb sledge , good luck!
I have a question regarding the nut torque spec. As specified in this video, it is 35 lb-ft, but in your video for passanger side outer tie rod replacement, the torque is 85 lb-ft. Why such big difference?
Thanks
So 35ftlb torque for the driver's side and 85ftlb for the passenger side?
I wondered the same thing. Doesn't make sense....would think it would be same for both sides. I'm leaning towards 85 ft.lbs.
Why he didn’t tighten the bolt on backside that was broken loose?
Torque was 85 ft lbs in the tie rod end vid.
Nice video! One question: why bother to take the 24mm-nut off?
What if the replacement tie rod is a different length, wouldn't that cause the alignment to be way off. Wouldn't it be better to take a measurement as well as count the turns ?
