    Love these rudder pedals. They are absolutely bomber. I swapped the spring to the stiffer slot and they are perfect for fixed wing.

    Yeah baby! As promised, VKB rudders! Great idea to do a comparison flight with the Logitech unit. Gives us an idea of the level quality of the VKB unit, even if the comparison is to that of a crummy unit. Looking forward to the full review! Happy holidays.

      The Logitech units are more comfortable than the cheap thrustmaster ones or the Ch pedals, but the quality of the other two may be better. . I have pictures of the interior of the Logitech pedals and I'll likely show them as comparison to the VKB. The VKB rudders are less than $100 more than the Logitech!

      @@simcoe8157 I really do think thats their MO: bang for the buck, and honestly its what I recommend that everyone getting into combat sims go for. I have purchased many a cheap product in my life, and I always find myself disappointed wishing I had gone for more value for my dollars. So thats what I really try to do nowadays. Going even better is fine, but you'll pay for it!

      Thank you, I didn't like the thrustmaster ones because they were very narrow and were very uncomfortable to use. The CH have the same problem. I had s pair of ch products pedals but they had problems where the axis would move suddenly without warning or input. Pretty bad problem to have.

    Happy B-day and (as always): Nice job!
    Logitechs/Saiteks are utter garbage IMHO and it seems they haven't changed one thing about them since they first introduced them under the Saitek name way back when. I have a very early set and what you describe about your more recent one sounds *exactly* like how I would describe the one I have. Imprecise, "ratchet-y", clunky and borderline unpleasant to use. As I've stated countless times: I tried them for a week or so, then went running back to my ancient, gameport CH Pros and never touched the Saiteks again after that.
    Re the VKBs: At their price, they always seemed like a bit of a bargain to me, but I've never used them. Only reasons why I never considered them are that they were constantly sold out in the EU-store when I was shopping for pedals and, more importantly, their lack of toe-brakes.

    • @FalconsLedge
      @FalconsLedge  Год назад +1

      Thank you! Ultimately at that price point I'd rather have a great set of all metal petals than less great ones with toe brakes. I'm mulling a toe brakes mod for them using 3D printed materials and a couple potentiometers

    • @1SaG
      @1SaG Год назад +1

      @@FalconsLedge Oh, absolutely... if you can live with the lack of toe brakes, getting these over plastic models is a bit of a no-brainer - even now that VKB have raised their price a bit over here in the EU-store, they're still not that much more expensive than those dreadful Saiteks/Logitechs. Used to be €199 plus shipping, now they're €215 - but the Logitechs are ~ €160 for a rather old design that wasn't very good even when it was new, so ...
      And I suppose the logic behind their lack of toe brakes is the Russian approach to this sort of thing... meaning if you have a VKB MCG or any other grip with a brake-lever/brake-axis, you wouldn't really need toe brakes on your pedals. Personally, I just use that lever for other things and employ the toe-brakes on my Crosswinds. :)
      Interesting idea about the toe-brake mod. I'm not sure I would know how to incorporate that mechanical feature on the VKB design, but I'm sure you'll come up with something.

      VKB software can emulate the toe brakes. So you can work around the lack of the proper brakes in these pedals.

    Hello.Can u compare them with the Thrustmaster TPR ?

    • @FalconsLedge
      @FalconsLedge  Год назад +1

      These are hardly in the same category. The TPR is twice as expensive. They operate totally differently. It depends on what you want: of you want realistic movement and simulation of realistic pedal function, then the TPR is better.
      If you want pedals that work best at a desk chair, that have incredible bang for for buck, then the T-Rudders are better.

  • @BartAnt84

    I own the MKIII version. I feel like, there is something that a lot of people don't understand about these pedals. And that is, they weren't made to simulate the helicopter. They were designed for the sim pilots, who use them under their desk and don't want them to move around ;)
    IMO, the lack of toe brakes, is the consequence of that approach ;)

    • @FalconsLedge
      @FalconsLedge  Год назад +3

      I never thought they were made for them, in fact the use of them under the desk (aka up and down movement instead of forward back) is definitely nice if you don't have a full cockpit and it's one of the reasons I bought it.
