My baby Shepherd wagons are definitely inspired from it's full size traditional cousin.
I owned a tear drop travel trailer for years, before they got trendy, which I really liked it for a while, but didn't care for the closed-in feeling when the doors were closed, also, lack of windows & space.
So I guess you could say this is my answer to a teardrop. Not as aerodynamic, though when towed with a wagon or small SUV the pull vehicle acts as an effective wind break.
I really love the cabin feel of my units and the openess due to the wood sash windows.
The one featured in the video is my fourth btw & has just been sold btw but am taking commissions, with a three month turnover.
In the near future, I plan to make larger models up to 12' by 7' wide, that you can stand in. But definitely keeping with the lightweight, rustic, low tech feel.

Looks nice. It would be good for me and maybe my bride for a couple nights. Maybe at a festival or something. What did you use for the ceiling. It looks like floor underlay? Then the corrugated tin on top of that? Is it pretty quiet inside?
That's so cool. Years ago I used to be forced to rent a motel room during snowy icy winter weather so that I'd be closer to my work. If I would have had something like this, I could have parked it in the parking lot outside the plant and saved all of that money.... and would have been even closer to work. Good job.

I could see myself spending a long time in that if...the weather allowed on my own property that provided food, water, solar & an area for waste disposal. If I were interested in towing I think it could work just fine for many applications. It's a very inviting build. Thank you for sharing another thought provoking video.

I'd of gone with a futon or murphy bed set up.. Sweet .... Nicce clean lines and lots of light.. Might need shutter's if you get caught in a hailstorm...

Oops, I'm the builder, didnt mean for the terminology- Gypsy or vardo to be in description. Sorry if anybody was offended. I actually refer to these as pocket cabins, resembling mini sheep herder wagons..:)
Braxton, please don't worry about the wording. (I am now going to yell at an earlier poster who has a serious rod up his butt, thinks he's a "king" and a "gypsy" and has an agenda... so Braxton, don't think this is for you!) Gypsy is a WELL KNOWN AND LIBERALLY USED NAME FOR ANYONE WHO HAS A FREE SPIRIT AND LIKES TO WANDER A BIT IN LIFE! NOT EVERY GYPSY IS A ROMA. Now back to the comment I wanted to make. This is a wonderfully designed, lightweight, and airy version of what so many are trying to actually build. I think it's a success story on many fronts. I personally would lift the bed and make a foot more storage height, and maybe slide a portapotty under it. Other than that, freaking awesome!

I took a photo two weeks ago of a red Vardo in a small town Maryland parking lot, but it has more painted decorations. Could I have spotted this one??
