    The officer never identified himself case closed.

    • @linkjourney422
      @linkjourney422 Год назад +3

      The officer doesn’t have to announce himself in this situation which would be known as an Exigent Circumstances. For example if a cop suspects that a serious crime had been committed or was in commission he or she can investigate the area. In this case we have officers who are called to this apartment complex because a door was left wide open for hours when normally it would have been closed. The officers get their and find that the apartment in question has been ransacked. It’s very reasonable for anyone to assume that a serious crime had been committed. If that’s the case than the officer had a lawful right to search the area and not announce his presence. And of course for this case the end result was someone pointing a gun at another person and said person reacting to it.
      It’s quite possible that both had acted in what they believed to be an act of self defense. For Self Defense in the state of Texas is dose not matter if the act of what this woman did was lawful or not. I would argue that she was well within her rights to grab a gun and protect herself and who she was babysitting. However what matters is if the person committing self defense reasonably assumes that an unlawful act was being perpetrated on him/her.
      I think many of us would say it would be unlawful to point a gun at someone. If that’s the case than it could reasoned that the officer who had a lawful reason to be their and was under no constraint to announce his presence had every right to defend himself from a person who was pointing a gun at him.

      Basically everything link said is correct. Her action did not have to be unlawful for him to act in self defense. It is 100% possible they were both acting in self defense. And honestly, it’s the totality of the events for me. The brief amount of time before he shot her, not yelling “police!” and/or “drop the gun!” If he really did see a gun, letting his partner run into a “dangerous” house without warning her that he’d seen a gun (newsflash: because he didn’t), not alerting arriving officers who were trying to render aid that he’d seen a gun, failing to render aid immediately, etc. This coward never should’ve been a police officer & the streets are safer without him on them, and atatiana’s family deserves justice for her senseless death by his hand.

      I think a huge mistake is due to the cop lack of experience. He is guilty. Plus, he didn't follow and protocol calls that were in place to serve the community.

    I would not at all like to say this was a bad cop. He was responding to a call from a neighbour. Why was house looking like it had been burglarises and child playing video games at 3am??
