Team Charlie for sure,i swim all winter, no wetsuit, moonlight, sunrise,snow times, frost. Best thing for you. Days don't swim, do cold showers. Best medicine ever. Wow spectacular beaches and views. Thanks for sharing.

We went in the sea at that beach in July it was 25 degrees and beach was deserted, no waterfall in Smoo cave either as Scotland had been having a drought for the last few months.
Clashnessie falls was more of a dry fall too as it was just a trickle.
Sounds like a good time! Hopefully we can get a bit of beach weather on the way down!
you know the bit where you went "imagine living in that house and waking up to that view" - well guess what, we do!!! How many places in the UK have their own beach I wonder???
Its lovely in summer with the sun shining and spectacular in January with a northerly storm raging.

Been in Durness about 10 years ago. We've been on a roadtrip from germany, through britain to the highest point that we could find. Well the highest point that made sense on the map anyway.... i have pictures of us sitting at that very beach, in kilts with a big fire. Great time mate. Really great time. Don't get me started on the fucking seagulls trying to steal our morning eggs.... fucking hell

Went roooond there once, a wee while back. I really don't think I could get in the water though. No Bloody Way! Its good to see its not been built up much, still quite desolate. I do remember the water was so clear and cold. And windy and rainy and fantastic, nothing like it. Great to see you two enjoying your youth - Good Wishes.

You two need a solar camping shower bag. The solar bag heats up the water from the sun. Just hang from a tree or the open door of your camp and use the shower hose with shower head to wash up. When your done using it, it founds up nice and small. I've been using one for when I go long term camping for years. Mine gets really hot. I bet you could even put it in bed with you and use it as a hot water bottle. LOL! You can get them on Amazon and even the really groovy bags are not that much money. I have been using my solar bag for over 10 years. Thanks for another groovy travel adventure. You two are so much fun to watch.

Always try and get into the sea and did many times on the way up the NC500. When you were up at Smoo Cave and walked up looking over, you were looking st the remains of the WW2 Durness Radar station.

I'm in spain not bought my van yet but looking forward to it.It seems that Scotland are more friendly towards vans than UK in respect of being able to park vans.I have heard a lot of negativity about parking.g in UK.Enjoyi.g the videos your making everything fun and informative.

Hey Andy, the 18-55mm kit lens is pretty good that should come with the camera. However for our portrait photography we use a Sigma art 24mm f/1.4 lens.

The beaches on the North coast are magnificent. It's fifty years since I was exploring that coast, camping near Doonreay, visiting the nuclear power station, and being warned off the beaches because they had radioactive particles that had escaped. We also found a pub with no beer! If we wanted beer we could go to the golf club! But the pub had the widest range of single malts I've never seen the likes of since. And we keep at least twelve different malts in the house; and a few blends. Did you see Doonreay, or what's left if it ?
We'll second that! Haha sounds like quite the adventure you went on! No we didn't make it to Doonreay unfortunately!
