The payment per hour is low, in many western countries most of the price value come from work hour. In a third world country or China, the work value isn’t high which make them cheap. If the same axe is made in The US I bet it won’t be just 17 but something at least double the price. For example, you can have your pc fixed with just 3 US dollar in those countries while it will cost you several hundred just for the work hours alone.

I bought a survival kit on Amazon that cost about $90. It was Chinese too and I fully expected it to fail. It was one of those that had an axe/hammer, a shovel, a pick/hoe, an ice pick, a whistle, mag starter, a dinky saw, and even came with handle wrap for the 7 handle pieces. I ended up using it for a weeklong primitive campout for my daily firewood cutting. Chopped down and chopped up multiple trees. The shovel worked great as well. The nicest thing was that you could make a long handle on the axe for some serious swing. Made short work. Above all else, the quality was unequaled to much of anything else I've seen. Everything had a tight fit and was perfect. And it all fit in a special 5x10x8in pouch. Other than the tiny saw, it was the perfect kit. But for pure simplicity, this axe is great. For that price you can't afford not to have an extra axe around. I'll probably get one and see if I can adjust the teeth on that saw.
I purchased this same Yes for all axe 2 yrs ago, when i 1st read/learned about prepping. I believe that i purchased it for under $30 bucks then. So now its down to $17 bucks? wow. Well i have purchased others since and yes its still intact and going strong, i never thought much of the saw and because the handle is hollow i don't use it in really cold weather. Good review thx for sharing.
My Fiskars was sharp when I got it and I really like it. But Fiskars/Gerber has always been a pretty good split between quality and price, at least in my experience.
LMAO, story about the guy missing his sleeves and shirt pockets remind's me of my uncle Rick. His wife eventually just decided to stitch on a couple of tear off flaps on the inside of his flannel shirts and gave up trying to fix the pockets when he came back from the bush.

I've brought it camping to have just in case and while out used it to chop up a downed tree. It took a while as could be expected but it did its job the best it could. Keeps a edge fairly well and is easy to get back to a razor's edge.

If you live in Mountain lion county the AR is great but please also carry a side arm as well. For example 44mag. If one ever got on you then you have a way to blow it off.
@@civedm Are you for real or are you trying to make a point..? I mean, just like I wouldn't bring my ol' Remington .308 in a firefight, I wouldn't take an AR-15 with an Acog, a canted red dot sight and a flashlight mounted on a DDR to hunt.. (Unless you're hunting small "pests" that you don't mind putting many holes in like hogs and wolves)
Used a small axe for splitting logs and kindling I used the same axe for 10yrs solid wood hand and never replaced the axe head always using a sharing stone to keep the blade good and when the handle came lose I set in a bucket of water then let it dry out never bothered with metal axes
Good and fair review. I agree wooden handles are better for use but they’re not so good for hiding another tool inside and adding grip tape does mitigate the slipperiness. As far as the saw I didn’t see the saw teeth but I’ve put more set in some types of saws (pruning saws) and it has cured binding. My takeaway from this is for much less money than some tool sets and a little work after purchase this could be a decent tool set for emergencies.

I have the same set up I bought about 5 years ago...Mine is all black (no yellow) and has no name on it...It seems a decent tool the times I have had it in the woods...Yes the saw sux.
1 minute ago. nice. Love the video's man, makes me wanna go outside and chop down a tree. It does look a whole lot like a fiskars. Be carefull hitting ur axe in the tree and then sawing below it. My axe fell down out off the tree from the vibrations and hit my sawblade. Luckily not my arm or head.
Wranglerstar, perhaps that is true. You’re essentially running a business. Those of us die hard Wranglerstar fans can’t ever get enough. Dude ripped the $300 Spyderco Genzow Hatchethawk as nearly unusable, but he seems pretty pleased with this $20 Amazon hatchet. This is worth thinking about.
Found and bought a small bearded camping hatchet with the hammer on the opposite side of the blade. No frills just a cast iron head with a wooden shaft for 10 bux at a local hardware store here. Gonna modify it to hide a flint and dryer lint inside the handle I think :) kinda like what the old ak47s used to do with their cleaning kits hiding inside the rifle stock
0:41 Considering all the things that the West stole from China, Indonesia, Japan and other countries via force, economic leverage and subterfuge, it strikes me as petty to complain about design theft.

Thanks for taking a moment to explain the rifle. It put me off from another of your videos to see it framed in the background without an explanation. Why take a gun on a short camping trip? I wondered.
I carry the Cold Steel Trail Boss axe and a Silky Pocket Boy in my car. More expensive, but worth it. Nice review. This would be good to have in the back up kit, for sure. Glad you guys had a good time in California. But glad to see you back online as well. Blessings.
I wonder if upgrading that saw with some kerf would be viable option? With a bit of DIY might be usable. Of course it should be good from package, but if the steel is of decent quality, it still might be useful, and using it wouldn't be so tiresome afterwards. Or replacing it entirely with something that'll fit inside that axe handle. For that price it really seems to be a nice tool.

2:50 wow I've literally got a Bread Knife identical to that. And Probably Sharper.
1:50 I love the lil boogie with the sawing lmao
I'll tell you being a guy who live in a city that reaches 50C I've developed a deep hatred for the sun too
I've seen a few of those where the poll/hammer side is broken off.
That is a major weakspot, where the hole is..
It chops pretty well aside of that.
“Why the rifle?” How about “because I’m an American! Therefore, I can! Therefore I will!
Keeps the Oregon Sasquatch at bay....
Pam PR Correct!👌👍
Roody Tooty He could very well need it. His dogs have been attacked by coyotes in the past. I’m not sure if that video is still up. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
This is the way.
You dont need a gun for coyotes lol they run from humans lol.hes like most people scared of his own shadow.only scared people own guns.
If you live in Mountain lion county the AR is great but please also carry a side arm as well. For example 44mag. If one ever got on you then you have a way to blow it off.
I can't believe he actually had to explain why he carries a rifle with him when in the woods.
Cause it looks like an assault rifle not a hunting rifle
@@RidiswordWhat's a hunting rifle?
@@civedm Are you for real or are you trying to make a point..? I mean, just like I wouldn't bring my ol' Remington .308 in a firefight, I wouldn't take an AR-15 with an Acog, a canted red dot sight and a flashlight mounted on a DDR to hunt.. (Unless you're hunting small "pests" that you don't mind putting many holes in like hogs and wolves)
@@JohnLong. if it fires bullets/pellets/slugs, it's a hunting firearm if you use it as one
he's west coast, not very firearm friendly
Used a small axe for splitting logs and kindling I used the same axe for 10yrs solid wood hand and never replaced the axe head always using a sharing stone to keep the blade good and when the handle came lose I set in a bucket of water then let it dry out never bothered with metal axes
Having an uncle like Wranglerstar would've greatly improved my quality of life.
I used Fisker's hatchets for years, limbing and cutting small trees...was perfect. His recommendation is on point.
"just a warning, trees will be harmed in the making of this video" That was actually hilarious idk why people aren't talking about it
I was just looking for this comment
Good and fair review. I agree wooden handles are better for use but they’re not so good for hiding another tool inside and adding grip tape does mitigate the slipperiness. As far as the saw I didn’t see the saw teeth but I’ve put more set in some types of saws (pruning saws) and it has cured binding. My takeaway from this is for much less money than some tool sets and a little work after purchase this could be a decent tool set for emergencies.
From what I can tell you are living the most fulfilling lifestyle known to man. Seeing someone who demonstrates the value of hard work and a close family provides hope for us all.
I honestly wish this video would have been twice the length. Fantastic video. Thank you so much.
The original cut was 25 minutes, I have to cut, cut, cut. Most folks wont' click on long videos.
Wranglerstar, perhaps that is true. You’re essentially running a business. Those of us die hard Wranglerstar fans can’t ever get enough. The mechanics 2x4 workbench series was too short as well, in my opinion. But some would probably think it’s too long. Thank you for being such a positive person and influence in a world filled with negativity.
It's tough to please everyone,
No link to this axe? I can't seem to find it.
@@Shane_Reynolds85, thank you.
Is only the second video this guy stuff I've ever watched and I just gained a lot more respect for him in this image where there's a little air off to the side there guys the real deal
Haven’t seen that knife in years! Beautiful.
That axe was 1 of my 1st Amazon purchases 4 yrs ago. It's stil going strong. Thx for reviewing it.
Your camera placement is just as satisfying as your craftsmanship!
These videos are the most zen stuff about the most badass topic. Surviving in the wild. I don't watch Wranglerstar religiously but every year I do come back to catch up on a bunch of videos. It's a nice reprieve before gearing up for another shitty year.
The AR could probably saw the tree better than the actual saw.
lol 5:11 his face and there's a AR 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
0:41 Considering all the things that the West stole from China, Indonesia, Japan and other countries via force, economic leverage and subterfuge, it strikes me as petty to complain about design theft.
Re - badged for UK market as GANZO AXE HATCHET FIRE STEEL AND SAW COMBO BUSHCRAFT CAMPING SURVIVAL £43.99 = $57.39, you got a good deal out there in the states,
Keep up the great testing, and luv the dryer lint bit, you ? (missus W) just got men to do some house work cleaning the dryer out, and saving lifes from dryer fires, give yourself 2 brownie points for that one.
Love that knife. Someone beautiful to a simple design
I once cut down a 3" tree with the serrated blade from a discarded aluminum foil box. It took awhile but I was obviously bored anyways.
Honey im gonna go test this axe!
Ok did u bring the Rifle just in case?
U bet.
Thanks for taking a moment to explain the rifle. It put me off from another of your videos to see it framed in the background without an explanation. Why take a gun on a short camping trip? I wondered.
When i was young i always wondered how they always hit the axe in the same spot
Now that im 15 ik how : *ThEY dOnt*
Hate to tell you this, but you're still young, LOL
@@Eidolon1andOnly lol
Loved this one. Like getting back to your roots. But then again I like pretty much everything you share. Thanks!
I love the name “yes 4 all!” haha
I've got a Zippo Outdoors 4 in 1 combo that I quite like - axe, saw, mallet and 'tent stake puller.'
I wanna go outside, live in the forest, build a cabin, and retaliate on the industrial revolution
Fix the slick handles with the tennis racket wrap. I put that on all my hand tools and it’s a game changer
Never seen an axe that comes with a bread knife
I carry the Cold Steel Trail Boss axe and a Silky Pocket Boy in my car. More expensive, but worth it. Nice review. This would be good to have in the back up kit, for sure.
Glad you guys had a good time in California. But glad to see you back online as well. Blessings.
''And they say it is very sharp, razor sharp.''
* proceeds to slide finger on blade*
He’s not running his finger across the blade he’s testing the sharpness.
Umm, that's how you test sharpness.
