That kind of crispbread is pretty popular with Czech tourists for the same reasons the military uses it - and yes, we nickname it "styrofoam" regularly. And by the way, those sardines are indeed straight out of a grocery store
That beef is a simple Czech everyday meal. It is meant to be a stew indeed. Labeled after the city of Znojmo (back in the day a production home to famous pickles) the vegetables inside should be pickled cucumbers and the taste of the stew should take from them and the meat and be slightly sour.
Buddy, glad to see a new addition to the MRE review field. Started watching Kiwidude, Gundog, and Steve1989 years ago, happy to see another quality channel.
The pate would play well with the Apricot Jam. My favorite pate dish is German Liverwurst with shaved sweet onion and a spritz of fresh lemon juice, second favorite is Liverwurst with shaved onion and any jam.
Outstanding review! I’ve noticed European rations have a wider selection of flavored preserves. I enjoy a selection of coffees and teas. I’m not too much into the other beverages. The chocolate bars were a nice addition. Big like! Blessings 🙏🏼👍🏼
I dont think I've seen a Czech 24hr ration reviewed before. It all looked really tasty, but it did seem a little light on food for a soldier for 24hrs. Great review :)
@@christinevenner183if you give soldier heavy meal hes gonna have hard time to digest and have worse stamina in case of sprint it must be light but high on energy and calories.
The goulash does not contain potatoes, but "sweet pepper". That gives the dish its brown/red colour. The evening meal "Znojemská pečeně" does contain pickles, not potatoes.
Good afternoon from the Great State of Texas. I enjoyed your video. I had some mackerel on crackers this afternoon for a mid day snack. How did you heat up the goulash? The goulash looked really good. Those vegetables looked rally good also. I am glad to see vegetables in an mre. Thank you for your review. Have a good day and be safe...
I had a BDP V a few months ago that was still in date (and made it through customs unmolested). It was a great ration, a lot of decent quality food. I would absolutely get these when available. To me, it was just as good, if not better than the 24 hour French rations. Good solid peasant food, and not too fancy. Great review as always!!!
TY my American neighbour , gave a new sub, but am still missing steve like most of us MRE types. My ask ? Canadian rations, or North central European would be cool. You did some nice , rare rations, with good narration.
I love your excitement, Reminds me of Smitty but on a more youthful note 😉 Trust me those old fellas can kinda loose taste touch & reality… right CT. Hats off to yah dear sir ! Looks like a fantastic ration no matter how one could divide it up.
Sounded like rice cakes. I’m going to order a few Latvian, and Lithuanian MREs . Also a few Polish and I’m going to look for the one in you video. I’m weird I like eating
BTW. Goulash has no tomato, color comes from paprica spice. We czechs make mostly mild goulash, so kids can eat it too. The second sauce is made from pickled cucumbers. The salad is often eaten together with main dish in czech cuisine.
This brown collor of sauce has nothing to do with tomatoes. This collor you get from onion, meat sauce and maybe a bit of roux. Every avaradge cook will tell you this. The collour of the goulash depends on how long you will fry the onion. The onion and garlic are the basics of Czech cousine. There is a paprica in goulash, not tomatoes.
Now that another viewer said it, noticed you skip through a lot of the a mains and some you don’t finish. Anyways your channel you’ll do has you please .
The only thing i do not like about the Euro rations is the pate . Never been a liver fan and don't care how you dress it up I ain't eatting it . Not a big can fish fan either . The rest of it don't look that bad if you had some hot sauce to add to it !

Haha. It was a super solid kit. I've always been impressed with anything Czech Military I've encountered.

Great review :)
Those cans can have 1000+ calories in them
@EatsTreats&MREs wow, really?
I had no idea.
It just looked sparse compared to many other 24hr rations.
I guess I shouldn't jump to conclusions :)

Sorry I arrived at the end. I went back and watched. Looks like A good ration. Glad you had fun Bro! Peace, John.
Ooooh yeah! Awesome video, buddy. That goulash...oh man...I'm hungry
Re-watching the video at the premiere made me ravenously hungry lol
Iam peckish too 😂.

It contains potatoes, but I think You mean, It contains not tomatoes, but red sweet pepper right?
Great review, finally managed to watch it in full!

Like steve1989, the flavours and textures are well described. 👌 Well done.
You might like to try an Australian CR1M . G'day from Aus.
Nice Video, your the new Steve brother and you should try another Canadian ration.

My mouth was watering too lol this looked really really tasty.
11:27 not sure i would have eaten that black spot in the pate. but then i did not like the color of it at all.
I enjoy the videos. Thanks 🇨🇦
Good ration. I'd be happy to try one.
We do not warming up the vegetable salad😂 Anyway glad you liked it.

The reason that there isn't enough jam, is you ate half of it before putting it on the cracker.
The Czech rations used to come in color coded bags according to the year they're packed. Did they go to just brown?
Every time I see those soft foil containers, I wonder how they were carried in a pack without rupturing.
if you have a large, four cup measuring bowl, just poor the drink mix into into that.
I believe the veggie pack mix with rice stew
I would trade the liver pate and canned fish to anyone for extra bread. Everything else looked great.

the color of czech ration packs is based on what year they were made.
I got the same rancid crispbread 😢

great vid. as the others. Could be made testing from Spanish army?
I have a video of one on my other channel. Just search "Readiness Reviews Spanish Ration"
I'd like to try out another sometime soon
So, if you were given the option to fight for czech military in case of ww3, would you change flags?

The second sauce is made from pickled cucumbers.
The salad is often eaten together with main dish in czech cuisine.
P.S.: It has enough calories for a day, our meal is very energy dense.
I would wish the Czech military the best. They have good food but that isn't enough for me to want to fight in Eastern Europe 😆
@@ReadinessRations As part of NATO, we fight the same wars. So it is just a matter of switching food.
@@ReadinessRations And how about in central Europe somewhere between Germany and Austria? Because that´s where Czech Republic is located. ;)

I enjoy being able to sit back and relax while enjoying my meal once the camera is off.

Thanks for not using a serving tray! That is just silly..
There'd be some weapons-grade farts from the mackerel. And all that sugar is included in the calorie count.
