Wynncraft is probably one of the craziest things I've ever seen made in Minecraft. It's a complete mmorpg built purely within Minecraft that I could probably explore for months and still not uncover everything. Very fun server :)
I rememember the whole server going through the infamous "The bridge" A wide announcement would be made to make everyone gather in the snow village, normally everyone would wait 5 mins. then once everyone is ready people would charge the one taking the leads are the high level players to deal with the magma slimes for the lower levels to pass through with ease towards Troms. That was the most fun community thing to do
I had a dream recently that reminded me of Wynncraft. I hadn't even thought of the server in years, then suddenly I had a whole experience with the world within my dreams. Best dream I had in a long time.
@@Kmaxi it was insane. I started at around 2015. Took me 6 months to get to level 55, then stopped up until 2020 came. I now got to 95 within a week from 55... Leveling became so much easier
Welp good for you to be able to play now, because i have seen and watched old wynncraft (from others perspective) to the reveal of gavel and corkus to the grindy proffesion days to until now the new expansion but i wasnt able to play cause i dont own a minecraft account because i cant afford one. FREAKCROW pre gavel Wynncraft was way better then post gavel wynncraft. Post gavel made it so you have to spend way more time grinding if you wanted to level up without doing quests. Post gavel made quests almost mandatory if you wanted to get anywhere. Also I really hated when they redid the item identification system. Because it removed previously had identifications. I had what was max xp armor at the time. That took a lot of time and costed me a lot of LE to buy, just cycling through buying bobs battle chests, and frosted leggings off people to identify it to get max xp on those items. All of that gone after gavel. I’m not against grinding but grinding has to have a point to it, and quick progress, which it did if you knew how to play. Wynncraft used to have a simplistic feel to it. Making much easier to learn the deeper mechanics for new players. I never enjoyed stories quest, as gavel approached a lot of the new quests, were less task quests, and more run to the end of the tunnel and talk to an npc quests. And gavel quests seemed to hardly improve on this style. The earliest quests were all task quests, those were the good ones. I quit playing soon after gavel released. I couldn’t bother learning the new powder, identification, and items systems. I also never liked the new texture pack.
I remember grinding the crap out of this game back in 2013. The archer class was the least popular so its the one I played mostly and I actually ended up being the 7th person to reach level 70 for the class. There was a leaderboard and everything, it was awesome.
When I first played Wynncraft I got lost too so I stopped playing. It took a couple of weeks later when I decided to to give it another shot and boy was it fun. I got to level 40 when things got grindy and I had to grind wolves in Nesaak and do Troms Rush.
Follow each quest on the wiki! Insanely helpful! When I started grinding Wynncraft with my friends it was basically a necessity to have the quest wiki page on my other monitor to make sure I don't get lost and confused.
I got into Wynncraft around the beginning of 2015. As a 14 year old (kinda dumb NGL) child, I loved the game. I played it a little more then I perhaps should have. I got heavily into the assassin role, and managed to find armour and a secret relic that defined my playstyle, making me nimble and feel unique. Sadly, since I wasn't introduced early enough to Wynncraft, hadn't experienced many massive updates, and had grown accustomed to how the game currently was, I wasn't ready when Gavel came out. I was also a child who'd only moved to England about 2 years prior. I didn't check for any updates on social media and only heard about Gavel from other players. When it finally arrived, I was extatic for a short while, and then things started going sideways for me. My secret relic had been converted to a crossbow that was super slow, the new resource pack confused the heck out of my then 15 year old brain, and some other changes meant my unique playstyle was sadly gone. I was so devastated that I decided I would never go back to Wynncraft ever again. Yet, here I am. I searched for this video, January 1st 2021, and kind of finding it intriguing. Although I'm now a very busy university student, I would be kind of interested to visit Wynncraft again. Not as the same player I was before. Not as the assassin, that would just make me regain all the negative emotions. I kind of want to start fresh now. Experience Wynncraft like it's a completely different server (which it almost is at this point). And enjoy all the content that was added, that previously ruined the game for me. I think a massive problem was I played the game so much, I let my unique playstyle, great world building and quest system and the map itself absorb me. I let it take over my life. It was who I was now: my identity (as edgy as that sounds 😆). It was a good escape from my sad, boring and depressing life, not to mention school. I let it become my life. So when it had drastic change, it was like someone changed who I was. It hurt. If you've read this far, I commend you. Thank you kind stranger. Perhaps this can also be a lesson. Don't become overly attached or reliant on anything. Because eventually, it could and will change. Doesn't have to be games, could be friendships, influencers, school/worklife etc. If you let it define you, you'll eventually end up disappointed regardless. Take control over your life. Especially now during this new year, after a sh*t 2020, we need to define our own lives.
I haven't played in 5yrs however I just looked at my stats and I have 556 hours in game and I'm lvl 75...while my friend who recently started playing is lvl 115 with 13hrs ;(
@@duncanmyers9025 No its actually not possible as the max level is only 105. Perhaps its 115 when you combine combat professions and crafting professions.
@@dolfin5613 maybe :/ I haven't played in over 5 years so I really don't know...I think the star i compared was player level where mine was 75 and a friends was 115, if that combines other stats it would make sense given when I played those stats didnt exist so they are all lvl 0
This video single-handedly told me how old I was. I remember the Ocean update and how great it was at the time. I quit playing in 2016 though. Maybe I'll log back in sometime....

Joined 6 years ago, finished all the quests and got the best endgame items you could get. School became more important, so I left, but before I did, I gave away ALL of my items in every bank I had to one lucky fellow. 6 years later, I am back, for now. I purchased VIP+ to support the server as thanks for the good time those 6 years ago, but I had no items. No gear, no weapon, no accessory's I have spent the past 4 days just grinding my way back up and tried to find items for my build, very challenging when the server has 1200-1400 players constantly, and so to say everyone is loot-running, leaving very little loot behind, but I manage. Great video, got a lot of nostalgia of the early days. Killing BoB, grinding for the best Blue Mask in the temple outside of Troms, looting relic-shrines.
when u said the desert was exluded to vip just gave me an insane nastalgia flashback...... I'd long since forgotten about the times i tried to enter vip only areas such as vip town and the desert... farming in dearfish pit, and eventually when troms was released, crossing the bridge with my lv 17 archer and being stuck there. Abusing rapid shot with flame bow to double xp and other stuff... Wynncraft back in the 2012-2014 era is so nastalgic EDIT: I actually quit when they changed it so that there were multiple types of attacks and revamped powders, I felt this added on a layer of complexity that i personally didn't enjoy. Back then when everything delt normal damage and everything had normal defense it was very easy to tell the difference on which items were better, the only thing that i had to account for were indentification bonuses, and damage range in weapons. This essentially made it so there was no longer 1 set best weapon or best armor set (which at the time were the bob's weapons). Mostly has to do with the fact i was just 10 at the time and had trouble comprehending things though
I stopped played between the October 30, 2013 update, and the Mob update. I've tried to pick up Wynncraft every once and while but just so much has changed and I don't know where to start again.

i remember playing this with my friends! i think we started back in 2014. had no idea this server was still around, last time i logged in to minecraft i saw the state of mineplex which was my main server back then and some atla bending servers i used to play were gone too so i just assumed that every server besides hypixel was pretty much dead. im glad i was wrong :)
Many of the ones that are not youtuber servers are basically dead, or have low player count. Hypixel just has nearly everything and the things it doesnt have are just not popular enough.

I started playing Wynncraft about a month before the mob update after AntVenom featured the server in a video. I’ve seen the server grow, been in Troms runs, swarms, I’ve seen Gavel get released. I’ve gotten a blue mask, adamantite, Crystal, and stalagmites, the pre-Gavel endgame gear. I’ve seen armor skins come and go. I’ve seen Grian’s channel grow from a few thousand subs to the millions he has today. I’ve even been on the Wynncraft content team. And I’m so happy about all of it.
I remember being around for the old wynncraft, there were a lot of lag, bugs and server time outs, mostly from my bad internet though. I came back to it a couple of times in the past and haven't touched it in about 2 years I think. I might get back to it because of the video.

I’ve been playing for so long now JEEZ, The nostalgiaaaa I used to sit in deltas and find people to play with me and back when wynncrafts custom texture pack was literally just Sphax and when the assassin class was VIP and everyone used to follow the people who had the class around haha
I remember playing a lot back in 2015-2016, and it took me a long time leveling up to level 44. Just recently start playing with my friend again and the Economy update has had us *hooked*, though grinding feels so much easier than before (srsly, we're like... level 35 now after just a few days, but I'm certainly not complaining!). Overall, absolutely love this server!
@@heyguysimcharlie not really. Get an xp armor set and complete ~5 forgery dungeons and all the quests and combat mini-quests and there is barely any grind (like 2 hours max).
So glad I was there in the early stages! Back when you could see builders working on structures right in front of your own eyes. I even have a button from the doors to llevigar. The builder was actually grian if I remember correctly but I just picked it up...
I am actually sad that they made leveling so so so much easier, now you run through quests so quickly and it makes you remember less of the quests and forget a lot of them. I remember when I played like 3 years ago, each quest felt like a story and I actually felt like I was in an adventure, now days it just feels really rushed. another thing that bothered me was them reducing the max render distance allowed which takes you out of the immersion because you can barley see 8 blocks ahead of you. and it also makes it so you cant see the beautiful buildings and structures. I get it that they did it to reduce lag, but honestly, I prefer having the lag back and have the old max render distance back that allowed to you to admire the amazing map. and the lag wasn't even that bad. and also while the smiting/crafting system is cool and adds a layer to the game. I dont think it was needed, itjust adds a very big layer of complexity. and I actually played Wynncraft over other mmorpgs just because wynncraft was so fun even when it was so simple. my friends also stopped playing because of the crafting system, and you can say "just dont use it" but if you do that you miss a lot of very big perks and buffs and it just makes you doubt your decision. They also changed a few quest and made them shorter which was a bummer. I remember it was so fun to do quests that took more then a hour each, it sucked you into the Wynncraft world and you felt like you actually had an adventure. in my opinion, get the old leveling system, the old render distance, remove the crafting system and get the old quests back.
You're bringing back memories from nearly a decade on, of the mystery on the CM server about this project W, about my time in the closed beta test, and so on. It's really come so far, and I'm so glad for them! Memories like being amused as hell about all the towns being anagrams for developer/contributor names was a thing. Nemract for Cartmenezz, an admin for CM who ended up marrying another CM admin, TK! like one of my closest friends, who i met on CM in 2012, getting brought on to do item design work for them; he does it to this days! and being absolutely clueless about how to play the closed beta because i'd never really played any RPGs before, much less in minecraft.
I remember playing old Wynncraft years ago... it was so much fun. I remember grinding cause I wanted a horse so badly lol. I haven't played Minecraft in years, but this makes me want to.
I first heard of wynncraft in fall 2013 and i loved everything about it. I have been active till the gavel update then left for a year. Shortly before the corkus update came out i came back and grinded the hell out of it. When 1.18 update came out i had several classes at lvl 100 and 101. After that i tried to get the most lvl possible. do to some incidents i left the server around February this year
I love the fact Grian is so humble. A comment on a short documentary about Grain by TheMisterEpic said “Very little of the current Wynncraft map was built by myself. Most of my work has been since improved. The real heroes behind the Wynncraft team are the Wynn Content Team. They are the real building masters.” (From Grian btw). The short documentary is pretty nice y’all should check it out. Again, its by a youtuber named TheMisterEpic Edit: Forgot to say amazing video.
It’s so nice we have videos like this to help us relive the memories better. My good friend Rhino introduced me to this server all those years ago, and I got our friend group to start a team together.. He and I got VIP after level 20, only to have the EULA released a week after. I play alone now but I often wonder about inviting the ones who didn’t run back to the server again
Oh my gosh this is so nostalgic! My friend invited me onto Wynncraft in 2012 but I had no idea I was online so early in the history, I feel really lucky! I was fun back then but it's definitely a lot more interesting now! I remember the default texture pack, The VIP town and when Rymek was added especially! I do wish you talked about the music though because it's absolutely fantastic.
I wonder how much work Grian is doing on Wynncraft now, as its such an amazing server, with so much content, but Grian has a massive RUclips channel mainly on HermitCraft. He did a promotional video on it a while ago but hasn’t spoken of it ever since.

My friends never liked Wynncraft so It got tiring playing alone, because I had completionist complex. I have to check each corner of the map and finish every quest. I only stop doing that when someone else plays with me. It gets very boring trying to do everything.

I played Wynncraft during the first to second year it was released, dang it was so fun playing with friends. I made so many memories then stopped playing Minecraft as a whole when I got older. I recently came back. Wynncraft will always have a special place in my heart and will always remain nostalgic.

Exploit4ever I have definitely had the thought that some of the updated builds are a bit overwhelming. Though they are, of course, technically incredible builds, something about just how detailed they are kind of keeps me from connecting to it- if that makes sense. But perhaps it’s just my nostalgia speaking. I felt a personal connection with many previous iterations of the builds, and seeing them go made me kinda sad. With all that said- I do think Wynn has one of the strongest build teams ever assembled currently, and I’ve frequently had my breath taken away by how they’ve changed things since I left.
Aah, the good old times, when I was playing on this server every day. Grinding for levels, quests and items. I was doing pretty good, had the top tier stuff and allot of LE 's. Maxed out my archer class as well as my assassin class. Sadly enough, I suddenly one day found myself bored with the game, so as my last tribute to the good old server, I decided to give away EVERYTHING I had managed to collect over the years, so that it would serve a better purpose than being stored away in my inventory and banks. Sadly enough, because I gave away even my main gear and weapon I just can't find it in myself to start over.
I was quite young when I played wynncraft in 2014-2015, only got my mage to level 29 I think, then came back a few years later then quit again, only continuing my current playthrough recently since I've understood all of the new mechanics

I love Wynncraft but haven't been playing much lately. It still amazes me that everything, especially the quests and such, was built in minecraft. I'm still struggling to make meme plugins and I can't imagine the process of coding all of the customized parts of the server.

When I was a kid I always used to watch CraftedMovies (A minecraft machinima channel made by Salted, now the owner of WynnCraft that used to play with his friends.) He also met Grian when asking for acting crews (something like that) for it which I've known from Salted's AMA Reddit post, but when they announced they're gonna make a server. The channel stopped doing machinimas.. But at least the server is one of the most amazing thing I've ever experienced when It was released. Still felt sad they stopped uploading :(

Ok I only really heard about Wynncraft because I was watching a Failboat stream and he was challenged to ramble about Minecraft as long as possible and brought up Wynncraft, so I looked it up and found this and I was shocked when I saw that one of his REALLY OLD videos was showcased at 3:17, and now I'm legitimately interested in checking out the server
I remember playing on this server back in 2013 or so when I was a kid and didnt understand a single word of english... I had no clue what I was doing neither what you were supposed to do, but I found it pretty fun at the time, after a couple of days/months, I stopped playing because any of my friends wanted to play it, and after that, never remembered the name of the server again. It was a pleasant discovery when I found out that the server still existed and grew a lot!
Wynncraft is one of those games you get into and sometimes you can't escape, been playing since 2016 then quit and got back into it in mid 2018. There's always something to do in it, whether it's playing the game or making a guild with friends and building a massive community and fighting for control of an area. Ragni best area, change my mind. (what keeps me stuck in the game)
Wynncraft: we are the biggest mmo on Minecraft with over 1 million unique players and over 1k people on our sever Hypixel skyblock: you gotta pump those numbers up those are rookie numbers (note, I dont hate Wynncraft)

I remember vividly playing Wynncraft and joining a random party because I was bored. We ended up adventuring all over the map. Ground monsters everywhere, completed quests and did a few dungeon runs. Finally after a few hours, it seemed like the party was going to break up so one of the party members suggested we go to nemract to, “get wasted” that’s exactly what we did. Everyone drank potions of drunkenness, then we started randomly dueling each other in a giant bar fight! That was probably six or seven years ago and I can still remember it like it was yesterday
I used to play so much Wynn back in the day, nearly 2 years straight if I remember correctly. Since then I've been completely burned out on the server, simply by forcing myself to play even when there was nothing to do. Guilds did manage to breathe some life into it, but that didn't last all that long. It's an amazing server with a fantastic community. Maybe I'll come back one day, maybe I won't. All I know is that Wynn is something special, and I envy those who are playing through it for the first time. P.s. Kingdom of Foxes best guild, don't @ me
@@Kmaxi I usually use Seus, but I tried it with chochapic, and it's the same... But if you didn't get this bug, maybe It's just a 1.16 thing, or an outdated optifine/shaders/replay bug :/
I love this server so much, i have been playing since a long time. After the last big update I made a new shaman class and leveld it too level 104 in 2 weeks lol
bruh i felt like 1 year in hypixel skyblock (another minecraft mmorpg) was long to wait for dungeons but the wynn craft players had to wait for way longer!
Uhh 2 things, hypixel skyblock isn't really an MMO like wynncraft it's trying to be one but doesn't fit the mold for me. It's too easy, it's not got quests, not too much endgame content 2. If you think 1 year is a long wait then you haven't had a go at any valve games, have you.
The nostalgia I remember playing back when my pets could do damage. Now all my pets do is get weird looks cause no one remembers what the old pets look like

I remember i used to be a pink wool salesman back around the ocean update. Pink sheep were ridiculously rare back then, and werent spawned per player, but per server.
I remember logging back in to Wynncraft not too long ago and being kind of sad, because everything was different. It is really cool what they've done though.

I have a story to tell from Wynncraft in maybe 2015. I was very new and explored the land that was far too dangerous for me to walk around, but my bow thrust me through the air. One time I tried to find a lever for hours because I heard and saw players near it, I got to the entrance to that hidden thing and went in when someone tried to go in. But then, I realized, I was trapped, no way out, because the way up it leads has a quest requirement, I also couldn't go back because once you go in, you fall for a little bit, so the bow way not enough to get out when someone tries to get in. I was stuck for hours till I created an account and made a forum post asking for help, but I didn't notice it is the first of April. No one helped me. 2 days passed till someone did help me in-game, an admin bothered to tell me a command to escape. /kill
Maybe it was 2014, I don't remember. I only remember going to explore the sea near the gavel door, even though it can't even be reached to render in the distance. Maybe I also saw pets, but I don't remember that either. I probably sound like someone from that time travel quest. xD

@@Kmaxi it was insane. I started at around 2015. Took me 6 months to get to level 55, then stopped up until 2020 came. I now got to 95 within a week from 55... Leveling became so much easier

Welp good for you to be able to play now, because i have seen and watched old wynncraft (from others perspective) to the reveal of gavel and corkus to the grindy proffesion days to until now the new expansion but i wasnt able to play cause i dont own a minecraft account because i cant afford one. FREAKCROW pre gavel Wynncraft was way better then post gavel wynncraft. Post gavel made it so you have to spend way more time grinding if you wanted to level up without doing quests. Post gavel made quests almost mandatory if you wanted to get anywhere. Also I really hated when they redid the item identification system. Because it removed previously had identifications. I had what was max xp armor at the time. That took a lot of time and costed me a lot of LE to buy, just cycling through buying bobs battle chests, and frosted leggings off people to identify it to get max xp on those items. All of that gone after gavel. I’m not against grinding but grinding has to have a point to it, and quick progress, which it did if you knew how to play.
Wynncraft used to have a simplistic feel to it. Making much easier to learn the deeper mechanics for new players. I never enjoyed stories quest, as gavel approached a lot of the new quests, were less task quests, and more run to the end of the tunnel and talk to an npc quests. And gavel quests seemed to hardly improve on this style. The earliest quests were all task quests, those were the good ones.
I quit playing soon after gavel released. I couldn’t bother learning the new powder, identification, and items systems. I also never liked the new texture pack.

I remember grinding the crap out of this game back in 2013. The archer class was the least popular so its the one I played mostly and I actually ended up being the 7th person to reach level 70 for the class. There was a leaderboard and everything, it was awesome.
Who were you ingame? I was tom12000. I believe abyssalmelody was the first to get to 70 back then. I was 10th to get assassin to 70.

When I first played Wynncraft I got lost too so I stopped playing. It took a couple of weeks later when I decided to to give it another shot and boy was it fun. I got to level 40 when things got grindy and I had to grind wolves in Nesaak and do Troms Rush.
Follow each quest on the wiki! Insanely helpful! When I started grinding Wynncraft with my friends it was basically a necessity to have the quest wiki page on my other monitor to make sure I don't get lost and confused.

I got into Wynncraft around the beginning of 2015. As a 14 year old (kinda dumb NGL) child, I loved the game. I played it a little more then I perhaps should have. I got heavily into the assassin role, and managed to find armour and a secret relic that defined my playstyle, making me nimble and feel unique.
Sadly, since I wasn't introduced early enough to Wynncraft, hadn't experienced many massive updates, and had grown accustomed to how the game currently was, I wasn't ready when Gavel came out. I was also a child who'd only moved to England about 2 years prior. I didn't check for any updates on social media and only heard about Gavel from other players. When it finally arrived, I was extatic for a short while, and then things started going sideways for me.
My secret relic had been converted to a crossbow that was super slow, the new resource pack confused the heck out of my then 15 year old brain, and some other changes meant my unique playstyle was sadly gone. I was so devastated that I decided I would never go back to Wynncraft ever again.
Yet, here I am. I searched for this video, January 1st 2021, and kind of finding it intriguing. Although I'm now a very busy university student, I would be kind of interested to visit Wynncraft again. Not as the same player I was before. Not as the assassin, that would just make me regain all the negative emotions. I kind of want to start fresh now. Experience Wynncraft like it's a completely different server (which it almost is at this point). And enjoy all the content that was added, that previously ruined the game for me.
I think a massive problem was I played the game so much, I let my unique playstyle, great world building and quest system and the map itself absorb me. I let it take over my life. It was who I was now: my identity (as edgy as that sounds 😆). It was a good escape from my sad, boring and depressing life, not to mention school. I let it become my life. So when it had drastic change, it was like someone changed who I was. It hurt.
If you've read this far, I commend you. Thank you kind stranger. Perhaps this can also be a lesson. Don't become overly attached or reliant on anything. Because eventually, it could and will change. Doesn't have to be games, could be friendships, influencers, school/worklife etc. If you let it define you, you'll eventually end up disappointed regardless. Take control over your life. Especially now during this new year, after a sh*t 2020, we need to define our own lives.

@@dolfin5613 maybe :/ I haven't played in over 5 years so I really don't know...I think the star i compared was player level where mine was 75 and a friends was 115, if that combines other stats it would make sense given when I played those stats didnt exist so they are all lvl 0

Joined 6 years ago, finished all the quests and got the best endgame items you could get.
School became more important, so I left, but before I did, I gave away ALL of my items in every bank I had to one lucky fellow.
6 years later, I am back, for now. I purchased VIP+ to support the server as thanks for the good time those 6 years ago, but I had no items.
No gear, no weapon, no accessory's I have spent the past 4 days just grinding my way back up and tried to find items for my build, very challenging when the server has 1200-1400 players constantly, and so to say everyone is loot-running, leaving very little loot behind, but I manage.
Great video, got a lot of nostalgia of the early days. Killing BoB, grinding for the best Blue Mask in the temple outside of Troms, looting relic-shrines.
I still have the old keys for old dungeons. I have the animal, skeleton, and silverfish keys.

when u said the desert was exluded to vip just gave me an insane nastalgia flashback...... I'd long since forgotten about the times i tried to enter vip only areas such as vip town and the desert... farming in dearfish pit, and eventually when troms was released, crossing the bridge with my lv 17 archer and being stuck there. Abusing rapid shot with flame bow to double xp and other stuff...
Wynncraft back in the 2012-2014 era is so nastalgic
EDIT: I actually quit when they changed it so that there were multiple types of attacks and revamped powders, I felt this added on a layer of complexity that i personally didn't enjoy. Back then when everything delt normal damage and everything had normal defense it was very easy to tell the difference on which items were better, the only thing that i had to account for were indentification bonuses, and damage range in weapons. This essentially made it so there was no longer 1 set best weapon or best armor set (which at the time were the bob's weapons).
Mostly has to do with the fact i was just 10 at the time and had trouble comprehending things though

Java Dragon Level up your combat to max first, then do profs. Profs are hell.

i remember playing this with my friends! i think we started back in 2014. had no idea this server was still around, last time i logged in to minecraft i saw the state of mineplex which was my main server back then and some atla bending servers i used to play were gone too so i just assumed that every server besides hypixel was pretty much dead. im glad i was wrong :)
Many of the ones that are not youtuber servers are basically dead, or have low player count. Hypixel just has nearly everything and the things it doesnt have are just not popular enough.

I started playing Wynncraft about a month before the mob update after AntVenom featured the server in a video. I’ve seen the server grow, been in Troms runs, swarms, I’ve seen Gavel get released. I’ve gotten a blue mask, adamantite, Crystal, and stalagmites, the pre-Gavel endgame gear. I’ve seen armor skins come and go. I’ve seen Grian’s channel grow from a few thousand subs to the millions he has today. I’ve even been on the Wynncraft content team. And I’m so happy about all of it.
I remember being around for the old wynncraft, there were a lot of lag, bugs and server time outs, mostly from my bad internet though.
I came back to it a couple of times in the past and haven't touched it in about 2 years I think. I might get back to it because of the video.

I used to sit in deltas and find people to play with me and back when wynncrafts custom texture pack was literally just Sphax and when the assassin class was VIP and everyone used to follow the people who had the class around haha
I remember playing a lot back in 2015-2016, and it took me a long time leveling up to level 44. Just recently start playing with my friend again and the Economy update has had us *hooked*, though grinding feels so much easier than before (srsly, we're like... level 35 now after just a few days, but I'm certainly not complaining!). Overall, absolutely love this server!

@@heyguysimcharlie not really. Get an xp armor set and complete ~5 forgery dungeons and all the quests and combat mini-quests and there is barely any grind (like 2 hours max).

So glad I was there in the early stages! Back when you could see builders working on structures right in front of your own eyes. I even have a button from the doors to llevigar. The builder was actually grian if I remember correctly but I just picked it up...
I am actually sad that they made leveling so so so much easier, now you run through quests so quickly and it makes you remember less of the quests and forget a lot of them. I remember when I played like 3 years ago, each quest felt like a story and I actually felt like I was in an adventure, now days it just feels really rushed. another thing that bothered me was them reducing the max render distance allowed which takes you out of the immersion because you can barley see 8 blocks ahead of you. and it also makes it so you cant see the beautiful buildings and structures. I get it that they did it to reduce lag, but honestly, I prefer having the lag back and have the old max render distance back that allowed to you to admire the amazing map. and the lag wasn't even that bad. and also while the smiting/crafting system is cool and adds a layer to the game. I dont think it was needed, itjust adds a very big layer of complexity. and I actually played Wynncraft over other mmorpgs just because wynncraft was so fun even when it was so simple. my friends also stopped playing because of the crafting system, and you can say "just dont use it" but if you do that you miss a lot of very big perks and buffs and it just makes you doubt your decision. They also changed a few quest and made them shorter which was a bummer. I remember it was so fun to do quests that took more then a hour each, it sucked you into the Wynncraft world and you felt like you actually had an adventure. in my opinion, get the old leveling system, the old render distance, remove the crafting system and get the old quests back.
You're bringing back memories from nearly a decade on, of the mystery on the CM server about this project W, about my time in the closed beta test, and so on. It's really come so far, and I'm so glad for them!
Memories like being amused as hell about all the towns being anagrams for developer/contributor names was a thing. Nemract for Cartmenezz, an admin for CM who ended up marrying another CM admin, TK!

I started at beginning, and still play. Wynncraft has a special place in my heart.
I remember playing old Wynncraft years ago... it was so much fun. I remember grinding cause I wanted a horse so badly lol. I haven't played Minecraft in years, but this makes me want to.
I first heard of wynncraft in fall 2013 and i loved everything about it.
I have been active till the gavel update then left for a year.
Shortly before the corkus update came out i came back and grinded the hell out of it.
When 1.18 update came out i had several classes at lvl 100 and 101.
After that i tried to get the most lvl possible. do to some incidents i left the server around February this year
I love the fact Grian is so humble. A comment on a short documentary about Grain by TheMisterEpic said “Very little of the current Wynncraft map was built by myself. Most of my work has been since improved. The real heroes behind the Wynncraft team are the Wynn Content Team. They are the real building masters.” (From Grian btw). The short documentary is pretty nice y’all should check it out. Again, its by a youtuber named TheMisterEpic

It’s so nice we have videos like this to help us relive the memories better. My good friend Rhino introduced me to this server all those years ago, and I got our friend group to start a team together.. He and I got VIP after level 20, only to have the EULA released a week after. I play alone now but I often wonder about inviting the ones who didn’t run back to the server again
Oh my gosh this is so nostalgic! My friend invited me onto Wynncraft in 2012 but I had no idea I was online so early in the history, I feel really lucky! I was fun back then but it's definitely a lot more interesting now! I remember the default texture pack, The VIP town and when Rymek was added especially! I do wish you talked about the music though because it's absolutely fantastic.
Wish Grian made a lets play series on here or advertised it a bit more atm....

My friends never liked Wynncraft so It got tiring playing alone, because I had completionist complex. I have to check each corner of the map and finish every quest. I only stop doing that when someone else plays with me. It gets very boring trying to do everything.

I played Wynncraft during the first to second year it was released, dang it was so fun playing with friends. I made so many memories then stopped playing Minecraft as a whole when I got older. I recently came back. Wynncraft will always have a special place in my heart and will always remain nostalgic.

Exploit4ever I have definitely had the thought that some of the updated builds are a bit overwhelming. Though they are, of course, technically incredible builds, something about just how detailed they are kind of keeps me from connecting to it- if that makes sense. But perhaps it’s just my nostalgia speaking. I felt a personal connection with many previous iterations of the builds, and seeing them go made me kinda sad. With all that said- I do think Wynn has one of the strongest build teams ever assembled currently, and I’ve frequently had my breath taken away by how they’ve changed things since I left.
Aah, the good old times, when I was playing on this server every day. Grinding for levels, quests and items. I was doing pretty good, had the top tier stuff and allot of LE 's. Maxed out my archer class as well as my assassin class. Sadly enough, I suddenly one day found myself bored with the game, so as my last tribute to the good old server, I decided to give away EVERYTHING I had managed to collect over the years, so that it would serve a better purpose than being stored away in my inventory and banks. Sadly enough, because I gave away even my main gear and weapon I just can't find it in myself to start over.
I was quite young when I played wynncraft in 2014-2015, only got my mage to level 29 I think, then came back a few years later then quit again, only continuing my current playthrough recently since I've understood all of the new mechanics

I love Wynncraft but haven't been playing much lately. It still amazes me that everything, especially the quests and such, was built in minecraft. I'm still struggling to make meme plugins and I can't imagine the process of coding all of the customized parts of the server.

When I was a kid I always used to watch CraftedMovies (A minecraft machinima channel made by Salted, now the owner of WynnCraft that used to play with his friends.) He also met Grian when asking for acting crews (something like that) for it which I've known from Salted's AMA Reddit post, but when they announced they're gonna make a server. The channel stopped doing machinimas.. But at least the server is one of the most amazing thing I've ever experienced when It was released. Still felt sad they stopped uploading :(

Ok I only really heard about Wynncraft because I was watching a Failboat stream and he was challenged to ramble about Minecraft as long as possible and brought up Wynncraft, so I looked it up and found this and I was shocked when I saw that one of his REALLY OLD videos was showcased at 3:17, and now I'm legitimately interested in checking out the server
I remember playing on this server back in 2013 or so when I was a kid and didnt understand a single word of english... I had no clue what I was doing neither what you were supposed to do, but I found it pretty fun at the time, after a couple of days/months, I stopped playing because any of my friends wanted to play it, and after that, never remembered the name of the server again. It was a pleasant discovery when I found out that the server still existed and grew a lot!
Wynncraft is one of those games you get into and sometimes you can't escape, been playing since 2016 then quit and got back into it in mid 2018. There's always something to do in it, whether it's playing the game or making a guild with friends and building a massive community and fighting for control of an area. Ragni best area, change my mind. (what keeps me stuck in the game)

I've been in most Minecraft community at one point or another, but I had never heard about WynnCraft until Technoblade's first Skyblock Video...
I remember vividly playing Wynncraft and joining a random party because I was bored. We ended up adventuring all over the map. Ground monsters everywhere, completed quests and did a few dungeon runs. Finally after a few hours, it seemed like the party was going to break up so one of the party members suggested we go to nemract to, “get wasted” that’s exactly what we did. Everyone drank potions of drunkenness, then we started randomly dueling each other in a giant bar fight!
That was probably six or seven years ago and I can still remember it like it was yesterday

I used to play so much Wynn back in the day, nearly 2 years straight if I remember correctly. Since then I've been completely burned out on the server, simply by forcing myself to play even when there was nothing to do. Guilds did manage to breathe some life into it, but that didn't last all that long.
It's an amazing server with a fantastic community. Maybe I'll come back one day, maybe I won't. All I know is that Wynn is something special, and I envy those who are playing through it for the first time.

bruh i felt like 1 year in hypixel skyblock (another minecraft mmorpg) was long to wait for dungeons but the wynn craft players had to wait for way longer!
Uhh 2 things, hypixel skyblock isn't really an MMO like wynncraft it's trying to be one but doesn't fit the mold for me. It's too easy, it's not got quests, not too much endgame content 2. If you think 1 year is a long wait then you haven't had a go at any valve games, have you.

4 months later, I now play Minecraft on my moms computer. She doesn’t think to highly of multiplayer, but at least I’ve got single player

I remember i used to be a pink wool salesman back around the ocean update. Pink sheep were ridiculously rare back then, and werent spawned per player, but per server.

I remember logging back in to Wynncraft not too long ago and being kind of sad, because everything was different. It is really cool what they've done though.

TomaattiMies please, I really want this so much, post gavel is so bad. I can’t bother to play Wynncraft anymore because of it. But going back to pre gavel I would gladly spend multiple hundreds of hours into it, it was so good.

I have a story to tell from Wynncraft in maybe 2015.
I was very new and explored the land that was far too dangerous for me to walk around, but my bow thrust me through the air.
One time I tried to find a lever for hours because I heard and saw players near it, I got to the entrance to that hidden thing and went in when someone tried to go in.
But then, I realized, I was trapped, no way out, because the way up it leads has a quest requirement, I also couldn't go back because once you go in, you fall for a little bit, so the bow way not enough to get out when someone tries to get in. I was stuck for hours till I created an account and made a forum post asking for help, but I didn't notice it is the first of April. No one helped me.
2 days passed till someone did help me in-game, an admin bothered to tell me a command to escape. /kill
Maybe it was 2014, I don't remember.
I only remember going to explore the sea near the gavel door, even though it can't even be reached to render in the distance. Maybe I also saw pets, but I don't remember that either. I probably sound like someone from that time travel quest. xD
