- This is a little experiment, it's not as simple as you might think. Luminite is an odd Terraria ore, and without shimmer it would be mostly useless for almost the entire game. With shimmer, this becomes much more interesting, but you can also have too much of a good thing...

same as paladium , hellstone forge is just there for helstone bars and obsidian armor , and to be upgraded in titanium forge

@@someperson7491 I've beaten both infernum and eternity, and I'd like to say that the soul of eternity is the most overexaggerated recipe meanwhile infernum dog is the most overexaggerated fight, you might think the people with 500 attempts on infernum dog are trying their best but they can't even dodge some of the attacks, meanwhile soul of eternity takes like 9 hours to craft which is the presumed time minium to beat eternity, the only things I'd say are actually difficult about it are the trawler's soul and the eternity mutant fight but you can literally just do the expert mutant, turn on eternity and open the treasure bag.
@@OMGREALDUMMYFROMDVN i know that the soul of eternity isn’t actually all that hard to craft. i’ve played eternity myself. they give you SO MUCH quality of life it basically holds your hand.

@@OMGREALDUMMYFROMDVN Except some of us crafted it before they decided it was too hard to craft (before eternity mode was a thing). That world of mine took 60 hours to complete. Mind you, I was not good at the bosses whatsoever, but still, at least 30% of that was looking for the random shit they wanted for enchantments

I love how many youtubers start their video with an intro or something like "heyy guys this is what we're doing today", but wand of sparking is just like "ok guys you read the title, i know this is stupid but hear me out..."
15:34 Since there was a Wand of Sparkling in the chest... the items were technically going to the right place.
Since shimmering is relevant here, might be worth mentioning that shimmering any Recall Potions you find will produce fishes to craft Seafood Dinners with, for an easy and consistent source of Plenty Satisfied buffs.
Interestingly, that trick isn’t on the wiki. Maybe there’s another better source of Plenty Satisfied that I’m unaware of, but someone might find this useful, who knows.
Such an interesting run, so fast and easy in some ways and painfully slow in others
I feel like I should point out that, you didn't need to downgrade to Stone? Since you had those Gem Trees at the Shimmer that would drop stone....
I was expecting you to plant corrupt seeds on mud and then purify them to get jungle grass. Removes the need to make a seperate jungle biome since you could just convert the corruption to jungle when you were done with it.
i don't know if non-members are able to suggest video ideas, but
Some vaguely Nintendo game-inspired playthroughs might be fun to see. Some good ideas to explore, like maybe messing with biomes and blockswapping in TEdit to make Metroid caves, Donkey Kong jungles, a Zelda dungeon, etc. Maybe using the special worldgen of the Constant or Don't Dig Up seeds. Or, of course, simply replicating mechanics from certain games like that one Majora's Mask inspired playthrough. Maybe a Zelda-inspired playthrough to assemble the Master Sword, which is the Terrablade with its components further spread apart in progression. Just spitballing ideas here.
i don't actually know how much TEdit allows you to mess around, but Nintendo-inspired playthroughs would perfectly fit the BGM. appreciating the music, once again.
this really gave me skyblock vibes without all the hassle of navigation around a world like that. it'd be interesting to see you do another skyblock-like challenge if you have a good idea for one
Creating biomes through the spreading mechanic is fastest with a pattern of 9-block squares with the center mined out, then having a honeycomb-like pattern of offsetting the next row by one block. Use the seeds at a junction and it offers the best number of spreadable blocks from wherever it spreads. Not the most useful tip, but I find that I use it more often than one would think.
Actually, testing out how much faster it works would be an interesting video idea. ...maybe.

for some reason, in every world I have played in tmodloader, I find the sword shrine by the ocean, it is always real, then i dig down from the center, and every time I find the shimmer using that hole
If you wanted an alternative jungle generation process, you could actually corrupt the mud first then hit it with green solution. Depending on how you do it, this might be faster. Mushroom Grass seeds would also purify into jungle grass, though that would definitely be slower.
Heat ray used to pierce, not surprising it looks visually like it would
i was always buying the anvils from merchant and turn them into spare iron. practically it's also infinite source of stone too. shimmer is our savior

honestly, after all the metroid references that come up, i think some sort of Metroid content would be well suited to the channel (plus i know i'd love to see it!)
This is actually a really cool challenge, sure it might have been easier but it's a gameplay style you'd never get otherwise, and I love challenges like that. I'd have been tempted to try myself if it weren't for the world corruption issue, that's very infuriating... I wonder why it happened.
I'd say replacing every block with Luminite speeds up the playthrough because you don't have to look for ore, it's everywhere. Instead of going from tier to tier you just mine your way to shimmer, and already have all the ore you'll ever need.

6:09 When you trashed 1 of the 2 life crystals I'm pretty sure you were lucky and the two spawned right next to each other, but since they aren't supposed to spawn on luminite they both instantly broke by updating the adjacent block. I could be wrong, it's hard to see in the dark
I also don't even know if that's how life crystal placement works
Playthrough Idea:
Context: Terraria Wiki has a random page button under the "Explore" tab.
Fill a chest and/or kill the enemy the random page takes you to in order. Not going to the next page until the item is received.
Watching you get killed by a barrel cactus back-to-back, it's impressive how persistent you are with not placing torches.
I love that not even 10 seconds in and we've got a "Okay, now hear me out..."
As someone who has never played Zelda, DK, or Metroid, these songs are basically just the Wand of Sparking soundtrack to me now lol

Man, I made a random world and managed to find a biome made of Luminite bricks. I thought I was the luckiest cuz I'd get a ton of stone and luminite. Unfortunately, luminite bricks shimmer into other kind of bricks depending on the phase of the moon. I was surprised and dissapointed.

Chlorophyte armour is actually evil against the lunatic cultists, lol. That stupid crystal always attacks the wrong guy! I use ichor arrows and ichor arrows make hitting the right guy trivial, but my stupid armour always spawns that annoying dragon...

One of my favorite challenges to do in Terraria is to try and beat it using only pre hard mode gear.
I am very thankful for the added Super Metroid details 😂from the first time I saw this game, I KNEW it is heavily based on the Super Metroid Integrated Level Editor (SMILE).
And then when I put the Metroid Mod on it, OH, IT FITS LIKE THAT LAST JIGSAW PUZZLE PIECE. It's PERFECT.

You said there is no way you could make a full set in one round of pillars, but if you got super lucky you might get enough to transmute the other 3 pillars into enough for a set for one class, since you can combine one of each of the other 3 into any of the fragment types (I do not care enough to crunch the numbers and see if I'm right)

I've got some characters and worlds corrupted, and after that, I started doing manual backups of the character and world files, I'd recommend doing that after making notable progress or after you close the game, hopefully this helps
luminite blocks to me always look like it's jsut a pile of techno-skulls, so i don't like the aesthetic. but i do like the video

13:14 there was also a way to create a jungle if you were unlucky with seeds: you could place a corrupt dirt block to corrupt mud and then just use a purifying powder. luckily corruption doesn't turn mud into dirt anymore

and you can shimmer luminite into iron,
then smelt it,
and craft it into a chain,
then combine that with the previous hook!

Drills are bugged, they are significantly slower that their pickaxe counterparts.
They're supposed to be faster than pickaxes, but they also don't take into account mining speed buffs, like an ancient chisel or mining potion. So since I didn't have any of those buffs, the drill should be faster, unless they broke that at some point.
Did you ever figure out why everything kept corrupting at the end?

wait a minute, if uncrafting titan pots can give bones, wouldn't that make the void bag pre-boss? You can get a few shadow scales/tissue samples from a failed attempt at the EoW/BoC
EDIT: Apparently you just can't shimmer titan pots before skeletron, making this less useful
